  1. The deer population was really up last year just before deer season. Usually, I MIGHT come across a deer or two a year on the road. Last year, it was 5 in the two weeks before it started. I was never happier for it, and I don't hunt. A guy who sped by me as I was about to pull out of my driveway on my way to work one day ended up hitting a deer a few miles down the road. When i told my friend at the video store, the lady he worked with told be she actually had a deer run up from behind her, just to get mauled by her car, getting the car wrecked in the process. When she told her sister this, she sent her this:
  2. How fudging dare any of you here make fun of Lindsey after all she's been through!!!!! She has a stupid mom, and a stupid dad. She has 2 fudging DUI's. Her hookups turned out to be users, and now she's going through a chlamydia battle. All you people care about is mischief, and making fun of her. SHE'S A HUMAN!!!!!! What you don't realize is that Lindsey is actually making a lot of good movies, and all you do is talk crap about them, and not actually watch her. She hasn't performed in a major motion film in years. Her movie is called Mean Girls because you are all MEAN! MEAN! MEAN! MEAN! MEAN! LEAVE HER ALONE!!!! You're lucky she even portrayed Elizabeth Taylor YOU BASTARDS!!!!!!! LEAVE LINDSEY ALONE!!!!!!! Please. Perez Hilton talked about professionalism and said if Lindsey was a professional she would’ve pulled it off no matter what. Speaking of professionalism, when is it professional to publicly bash someone who is going through a hard time. LEAVE LINDSEY ALONE.....PLEASE!!!! Leave Lindsey Lohan alone right now! I mean it! Anyone who has a problem with her, you deal with me because she's not well right now. ;( Leave her alone. ;( ;(
  3. I'm pretty sure the MS version of Shadowrun had nothing in common with RPG's, and didn't it focus only on team based multiplayer? FO3 was still an RPG, even if it changed the perspective. I guess I have successfully blocked it from out of my head. All I remember was trying to warp through walls.
  4. It's kinda funny how I liked Fallout 3, but absolutely hated that MS POS Shadowrun game, meanwhile they both basically turned those two isometric game franchises I loved years back into FPS's. (I guess the Sega one was top down, but still...) FO3 lead to us getting New Vegas, which will hopefully lead to them doing 4 right. No good came from MS purchasing FASA.
  5. http://www.gog.com/news/new_gaming_options_followup_survey There is a follow up question for the survey that they had a bit back regarding games with DLC. I know some people here missed that, so I thought I would bring this one to your attention. This question pertains to allowing games that will have a CD-like code for online multiplayer, but will still allow DRM-free goodness for single player and LAN gaming. They provide Planetary Annihilation as an example.
  6. I own more Clint Eastwood DVD's than any other actor, and when I saw the trailor for that one... I'm just glad I wasn't introduced to the movie by that, considering To those who haven't seen the movie yet, I would recommend watching the movie first. EDITed for capitalization. Also noted: I hate the shift key on this keyboard. Goodness, you have to really push down on it. I can't tell you how many times I've just had 'i' show up with this thing. /rant edit: I think there was another one on there that was even worse than that for giving it away.
  7. Torment 2: Torment Day Torment 3: Torment of the Machines Then of course the prequel where the protagonist will break out of character (but not the accent used for the character) and snap about the lighting in the game.
  8. One would think that the security sweeps before such a huge event would have uncovered them, if they were planted then. I would think that there would be a lot of cameras around to catch who did this if it happened while the event was taking place. Hopefully the rest of the injured people make it through this.
  9. The sequel (and any subsequent ones) should be called Hypothermia -2: Chilled to the Bone, Hypothermia -3: Gangrene Attacks! ect...
  10. From what I understand, this one is slightly different than say KOTOR2 and Fallout:NV from the publisher's stance, since from what I understand, they are just releasing it similar to what EA did with Kingdoms of Amalur, instead of funding the development for it. South Park Studios is funding that, from what I understand. Therefore, pressuring for an early release from the publisher side would be a bit more on the futile side. I assumed that THQ was having problems getting the cash together to properly release this, which is why they delayed it. As far as length goes, I don't have the faintest idea.
  11. This one I simply can't believe Kickstarter would let fly. No, this Rick Bruns guy may not technically be doing anything illegal. But let's be honest, this wants to place high scores of largely illegal downloads. Either Kickstarter is drastically lowering their standards to use this to make the Susan Wilson one seem fantastic in comparison, or this is something the FBI must be trying to do to catch stupid people who play illegal roms. Also... Telepath Tactics is a few hundred dollars short of it's extra branch in the main quest stretch goal. I might be reading it wrong, but will that choice limit what quests you receive?
  12. Here's one I happened to notice: Afterdark: When Heroes Become Legends No word yet on the roll flying toasters will play. EDITed for capitalization.
  13. Most of my friends who do like TES all live in a similar place like me, where reasonably priced high speed isn't an option, so they naturally have practically no excitement for it. I just haven't been around anything to get a gauge for the excitement level. I've tried to like the games. I just can't seem to get into them. Love the Fallout's though, including 3. It's on Chad's weekly Nukapedia News Digest, but I've never really noticed anybody talking much about it in a positive stance in the comments. Usually neutral at best. More: Why is it here? I'm sure that will be interesting with the leak out. Heading over there now... Plus Saturday Polls goodness.
  14. I don't know how many trailers for RPGs I've watched that show nothing but shots of pretty combat graphics and animation and I sit there yelling at the screen "why can't you show the dialogue system?! What does the inventory screen look like? Can't they just show the characters walking through town? Is this game all combat?!" I think I've usually ignored trailers for RPGs for that reason. Even then, the combat is usually over-sensationalized from the actual game in those things with quick cuts.
  15. When I was 21 or 22, (when it was brought up by her) I told my girlfriend at the time that I wasn't even going to think about having kids until I was at least 27. By then, I should be more financially secure, and have a real job under my belt. For some strange reason, I thought companies would want to hire people whom graduated in the computer field just before the dot com bubble burst, and subsequently laid off shortly after graduating, over new graduates. We weren't together much longer after I said that. Ahh, young, stupid love. For some reason, when I turned 27, I all of a sudden remembered that, realized that having a family wasn't even in my horizon at that point, and thought: "Dang! Time flies! it just seemed like not too long ago when I said that." Now, I remember, remembering that, and from that time to now, I've had 3 kids, and the second is just getting ready to go to school in the fall. A lot of stuff happens when you are 25-40.
  16. Does Elder Scroll fan even want the MMO? I honestly don't know. The forums are busy today. I don't know if that's because of the leak had somewhat the same effect as Erik Dellums had on the Fallout forums/Nukapedia when he made his tweet, or not.
  17. My favorite Putin story of all time: The time he went scuba diving, and discovered the ancient Greek urns at 6.6 feet down with cameras rolling. I don't care what anybody says, during or after the incident, I think it was legit. I think where everybody else screwed up, was that they just started looking too deep.
  18. Whoa, whoa, whoa. whoa!!!!! Even my Hawks at the tail end of the previous Bill Wirtz days made the playoffs once during their run of fire sales. I'll give the Leafs one during a lockout-shortened season. They have a whole half season not to screw it up this time (again.) On the other hand, when I'm hearing how they've owned Montreal, and Rask is struggling (?) and is no Thomas, so it will be a matter of can they get past the Penguins.... You've got to love Leaf fan. Not ALL are like that, (just the most vocal) but when they took 3 points against Boston last home and away.... Yep. MY personal experience about Leaf fan: I find the closer to Toronto you get, the more insane they are. When I moved to Kitchener to go to college, I had a job in a bowling alley. One rainy day, I wore my Blackhawks hat inside. Man, did I hear it from more random people than I expected I would (which was none, quite frankly. I didn't talk hockey with most of them.) Finally, I had enough and said "Look, my Hawks are going to win the cup before the Leafs will, and we aren't winning one any time soon." That was in 2000. I was going to show up decked in all my gear with a fake cup, but I had a family by then, at quite frankly, being a Leaf fan is more than enough of a punishment. Strangely enough, I didn't hate the Leafs at all before that day. I usually pick a favorite Canadian team to root for as well, and for that period of time when the Leafs had Kirk Muller and Damian Rhoads, they were it. Then they traded both of them, and the Sens where it up until they traded Ron Tugnutt for Tom Barrasso. Tom Barrasso was a great goalie for over 5 reasons: Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr, Ron Francis, Joe Mullen, Brian Trottier...
  19. I thought they set those two books up, so that way if they ever got too close, they would blow up preventing someone from reading them both. Also, I hope that shirt isn't designed at young girls (shape wise.) I wonder if they thought the equivalency in a regular shaped T-shirt with Jean Grey, Black Widow, Sue Richards and Storm would be too far? Either way, I'm not buying it, for me, or my kids. Ever.
  20. I did kind of the same thing when someone questioned me when I was wearing my "Hello Kitty, Bubblegum Girlfriends" shirt. I told them how far I got in croquet.
  21. By law, we're supposed to get tested (written & practical) every 18 months & 3 years. It used to be outsourced when I was first licensed. Since that was someone coming in from the outside, I had a heads up. I also had a different job in the plant then, and they could bring an extra temp in for the day so I was free to do it, and production wouldn't have been hurt. Now we have people trained in plant to do it. The trouble is, they also have their regular jobs to do, so they do it whenever they can. At first it was okay, because one of the testers who was also a machinist on the same shift as me would do it, and give me the heads up that she was going to do it at a good time for the both of us. Then for whatever reason, someone decided that someone working on the same shift (or was it department? I can't remember.) as someone else couldn't test them. That's when the fun began. At least the time before, the previous tester made a point to come in just after midnight, and do as many of us as she could. 1am for me is a lot better than 7am. Her regular job is in the office, so she can get away with doing that for the ones she is scheduled to test (in a good way.) The guy who tested me today is a mechanic, so he can't get away with doing that. They do a lot of silly/stupid things in there that only make sense to the person in charge of making them up.
  22. I had a surprise forklift test, 11 hours in to my last 12 hour night shift of the week on a truck I haven't used in years with a monotrol gas peddle (you press down on one side for forwards, the other for reverse) and new boots. Not fun. Despite being brain dead, only did one minor thing wrong. Better than the last time I had one a couple of years back when I was more awake. I only use the things when my material handler is on break, or is off for the day, or if I'm taking out and cleaning out a coolant tank/chip conveyor which at times is a two truck job.
  23. For information purposes to anyone whom may care and is reading this about how to back up offline mode for Steam: I've backed up: winui.gcf That is supposed to be all you have to do, and then overwrite it with the backup file if it logs you out. I just put another copy in My Documents folder, instead of copying and renaming it winui - backup.gcf like it suggests. I'll see how that works.
  24. I think so. People I guess are accustomed to getting entire games on there. In the case of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, when GOG got the rights to the expansion, people whom already purchased the base game got it for free (as do anyone else whom purchases the game henceforth.) There is also that constituency that objects to the new games being on there, thinking it should only be for old games. Personally, I don't see the problem. They don't stop selling Zork, so that way they can sell you Witcher 2. That's my opinion though. I came for Fallout Tactics, I stayed for everything else.
  25. http://www.gog.com/news/new_gaming_options_on_gog_we_want_to_hear_from_you i remembered them e-mailing this to us shortly after the Omerta DLC became available. I was fine with it, largely because I figured it might effect some of the indie games on there. Not like this though with Shadowrun. Depending on how this goes, I might change my logo there to a little silver poo trophy. I still hate Ticketmaster more.
