  1. Thanks for the link kiro. I must say, at first glance Im a little underwhelmed by Inscriptions.
  2. D'oh! Reading that was like a kick in the sack. So the patch will have the new talents right? I cant imagine both versions would be DVD only, that would hurt sales. I guess worst case scenario Ill yoink an external DVD from work and use it install at home, only need it that one time anyway.
  3. I believe so although Ive seen some complaining that it contains DRM so that may effect your decision.
  4. TBH, I have no idea what Inscriptions are supposed to do. I read the description to mean it will augment your spells, what do you mean by "inscriptions save enchants"? Good question on the flying mounts. Blizzard has said something like its too much of a pain to go back and add a Z-axis to Azeroth (thats why they only work in Outland, built from the ground up with a z-axis) but since they treat the new continents as "zones" I would be shocked if flying mounts didnt work in the new continent.
  5. So I was reading up on some of the features in WotLK and this caught my eye (see bolded):
  6. Im very excited. I would happily pay the premium price for the "special edition" so I could get the extra goodies but unfortunately its only available in DVD, which my PC doesnt have. *quietly weeps*
  7. One of the saddest negligence stories I ever read was about a woman who was breast feeding her baby and fell asleep in the middle. Upon waking, she found that her breast had covered the babies face and smothered it. Could you friggin imagine that?! Or those poor SOB's who back over their kid with their car because they didnt see them standing behind it? Oy, I would seriously consider eating a bullet if I ever did anything like that to my daughter.
  8. Just 5 more days until WotLK! Luckily I have Columbus Day (13 Oct) off because our company closes for that day so I can log a ridiculous amout of hours playing.
  9. Sad story qt. Something stinks about this guys story. Unless you are passed out drunk (which he couldnt be if only drinking 6-7 beers over the course of the day) how do you not hear a baby wailing from being burned to death?

  12. I got what you meant and Im curious too.
  13. I wouldnt mind knowing the answer to Hurlshot's question.
  14. Was your fly unzipped too when you woke? I too have a bad reaction to anesthesia. When I woke from my first knee surgery I muttered "gonna puke" and a nurse ran over with a little plastic tray and held it under my mouth. Then I threw up on the way home out the car window, then again in the front lawn, then once in the hallway while my wife held a grocery bag to my face, then I took some pills and passed out. Good times.
  15. Interesting, thanks.
  16. I cant imagine how this would be possible in an MMO. I mean, one persons actions effecting the game for thousands? See Eve. Can you give me an example?
  17. So you feel it was the product and not the setting that doomed SWG? Also, having not played KOTOR, isnt it set in an earlier era then the Star Wars we all know from the movies?
  18. Help me out here people. I get the vibe that KOTOR is fundamentally different from SW Galaxies. What is the difference between the two? Why would a KOTOR MMO succeed where SWG tanked? Isnt it all the same game universe?
  19. I cant imagine how this would be possible in an MMO. I mean, one persons actions effecting the game for thousands? The closest I've seen is server wide objectives. Horizons used to have all sorts of building projects, like bridges and tunnels, that required teams of crafters to complete. Once they finished, a new area would open up. LotR Online recently did a similar thing to unlock a new area as well. Also, LotR Online has some separation of areas to give an illusion of making an impact. For example, you start off in a vibrant town, but during the prologue, the town burns down, and once you enter the full game world it is still a burnt ruin. Also, the members of the fellowship are behind certain doors that you can only enter at certain stages, giving the impression that they have moved on at the appropriate time. It's all illusionary though. I don't know how they could really feasibly allow each player a sense that they are accomplishing something unique to their world. Thats a good point, the creation of things. WoW took that approach a few months ago when they opened up a new Blood Elf area, players would complete certain quests to "liberate" the new town and open up its vendors. It obviously couldnt work wrt destroying a boss/structure/dungeon, etc...

  21. Hmm, Ill have to watch them when I get home. I never watch the credits.
  22. ^I didnt see SLJ in it anywhere.
  23. @theslug: Ive used AmeriTrade in the past and they do not charge a commission nor a money transfer fee (though your bank may). The only cost of doing business with them is the one time per transaction fee for stock purchases/sales, which is fixed regardless of the size of the transaction.
  24. Iron Man Got it Friday and watched it 2-3 times over the weekend. I thought it was excellent and Iron Man has been a comic hero of mine from way back. Ok, so I found it a little silly that after the escape all of his shirts were tailor made to have an hole in the center to perfectly fit and display his heart magnet thingy.
