As you point out, isnt that the case for everything? Any random local could wander out into the desert with an RPG-7 and punch big holes in big pipes. Imo, that cant be a reason to stifle progress and also let some country declare themselves owners of international waters. Out of morbid curiosity, I was wondering if it was technically feasible to ignite a subsurface oil field (a la the Centralia mine fire) but apparently the Ahvaz field is approximately 2400 meters deep so not even all our GBU-57 would do the trick.

Imo, with the introduction of AI, we are going to enter into a feedback loop of "garbage in, garbage out". Just imagine some LLM scraping this very thread and then regurgitating it back to someone else. Anyone can post anything on the internet and the AI will hoover it up. The fall of humanity will come because we're stupid, and we taught the AI to be stupid too.
