K, got a return text. Yes, they still do it. An announcement is made over the speakers to "rise and recite" the pledge. You are allowed to sit down and not participate, but they still do it. I was glad to hear that.

The Pledge of Allegiance was definately a thing in my early school years but I cant remember doing it in high school....but maybe we did? I skipped first period, a lot. This was in the 80's so even then I dont recall it being a thing anymore. Huh, I should ask my kid if they do it.

Just how big a success will Deadfire be in your opinion ?
Gfted1 replied to firkraag888's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)What is "success"? Money? Then they've already landed 4.4M from the Fig campaign. Is "success" measures in "sales"? In that case they are underperforming with only ~33k backers, compared to 70k+ from PoE1 as of Feb 2017 (Pillars of Eternity 2 is the biggest crowdfunding success since 2015.). IMO, the number of units moving out the door will be significantly lower than PoE1 but maybe they made more loot off all the Fig "investors" + normal sales.

Germany Decides !
My bad, my Google-fu must have failed me. I though I read that she was starting her fourth term and each term was 5 years.

^See it just seems stupid to me. I mean, if they really felt in their hearts that kneeling was doing something positive, then fine. But this whole production stinks of; "What? Trump said we were weiners for doing this? THEN I'LL DO IT MORE!!!!!1"

Josh Sawyer's tweets and teasers
Gfted1 replied to AndreaColombo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Huh, alrighty then. I guess drinking and dancing will be a big enough part of the game to justify entirely new animations. Have they created one to show an NPC funneling a beer?

Josh Sawyer's tweets and teasers
Gfted1 replied to AndreaColombo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It seems unlikely to me that they would create an entirely new animation on the off chance someone's NPC's get wasted in-game. It has to be something that players will encounter regularly. Are there going to be Healing potions in PoE2? Sounds like something they would come up with the prevent "healing abuse".

Germany Decides !
Whoa! I guess Merkel's 20 years (at the end of this term) are nothing in comparison.

Germany Decides !
I wonder what the record is (non-monarch) for length of ruling a modern European country. Putin and Merkel have to be close, if not haviing set the record already.

I had a weird timing issue too. ST:D was listed from 7-8 but when I turned it on it was still playing a different TV show. I figured one of the football games ran long but I have to remember to start recording it.

Wonder Woman Loved it, as did my wife. Good action and a decent origin story in general. Now Ive been out of the loop since Linda Carter was rocking the lasso but:

You did WHAT...?!
My neuroplasticity! It does nothing! Had to perform a bushfix on my PC this weekend. It turns out my NiC died in my desktop, which Ive never seen happen before even once in my life, so I went to Best Buy and purchased a USB wireless adaptor. Surprisingly it recognized my 5GHz WiFi band and Speedtest says I'm purring along at 95MB. I always figured "wired" was faster than "wireless" but so far, so good.

Nah, I'm a lover not a fighter. Right up until someone forces me to be a fighter. I remember talking about the "car bombs" but that's a lot more recent. "Black and Tan" as a paramilitary force only existed from 1920-21, so that was like 97 years ago. There probably isn't a living Irish person that was alive during that time. I wonder why the 20-30 somethings are still so upset about it.
