Which dev should PLAY at PAX East
Few replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I really like Josh Sawyers commentary so I'd like to see him play -
Next PAX Panel

I think Mr. Sawyer does a really awesome job at talking through stuff when you are doing the gameplay demonstration. So just more of that would be cool -
Character Race
Few replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'll be playing as a meadow human, escaped slave, rogue..... I'm boring! :D I've never played as a short race; They've just never appealed to me really. -
PAX South 2015 live thread

I really can't wait for it to come out now. I loved the way you can go through the grate into the castle and the story bits with the sketches is so brilliant. I want it to be out now! -
Could use some advice on damage reduction/mitigation/control
Few replied to Lord Gorchnik's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Also remember (as I had to remind myself too!) its only a beta and not a demo. As the others have said above the damage and stuff isn't right in the beta we can play at the moment. :D -
Number of portraits?

Amazing! All that's left for me to worry about now is wether to go rogue, priest, cipher or chanter :D -
Number of portraits?
Few replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'd be over the moon if there were 3-5 portraits for each subrace and gender. That would be an amazing selection. Im really hoping. -
Number of portraits?
Few replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
There aren't that many portraits I'm afraid, not much variety at all. Its the one aspect I'm by far the most disappointed in Im seriously hoping for some more on release. -

Why? Is having clarity not cool? -
[392] Prio Issues for Obsidian to Fix
Few replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Yeah I think thats one of the biggest things really. If perhaps the little bar over the characters heads was bigger and less see through it would make things seem less messy. Perhaps also have a window showing your characters portrait and the enemy they are targeting with the enemy health, the current action being taken on them etc.... Also wow I didn't realise people liked the whole rest thing so much ^^ In that case I think that should stay then :D (personal I still hate it ) -
A quick question. Does anybody know if there are going to be more portraits when the game is released? I feel like there just aren't enough at the moment.

[392] Prio Issues for Obsidian to Fix
Few replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Im not sure what the biggest issue about the combat really is. It just feels.. messy? Sort of like you don't really have much control over whats going on and for me it feels like I'm fighting against the games mechanics and ui than against the enemies. Also I think there is some really bad spell bloat with the priest compared to other classes. also I really think they should have got rid of the per rest uses for spells. They should use cooldowns instead. I mean having to rest to get spells back for major encounters is severely immersion breaking. Stopping and waiting 6 hours or whatever it is and the whole world just stops what its doing to wait for you. It was my most hated part of the BG games and its such a shame they carried it over into this. -

Id even be happy with them making the combat more like Age of Empires at this point -

Massive stability issues with the mac version still. Id put that up there on the priority list. Also I know its too late and blah blah blah nostalgia etc but the whole combat system needs to be scrapped totally. Replace it with turn based or make the combat more like DA:O. -
Why couldn't it just be single click and your characters walk and double click and they run? Then have an option in gameplay setting somewhere thats a tick box that says "Always run" or something like that.

Pretty disappointed, this launches in December?
Few replied to khermann's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
First impression of the beta, Needs way more portraits, a touch more character model customisation, and yeah the combat would have been better turn based. Not disappointed though seems like its going in a good direction mostly. That is all, just wanted to share -
I would prefer PE but that just reminds me of P.E. lessons at school and being freezing cold having to do cross country runs

The Heros you will roll
Few replied to Fatback's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I seem to have totally lost my previous obsession with all things elvish over the last year or so; so for the first time I'm going to be something different for a first play through. I'm defiantly going to play a meadow human as I love their concept art! I'm not sure about class yet as I think I need to see a bit more about them but it will probably be a rogue. -
Same here. Although I never posted that much myself these boards felt very alive and I really enjoyed reading through everyones thoughts and ideas. I still come on here a fair amount just to see if anything new is being talked about though, and I did find out about the Divinity kickstarter on here. I'm sure when the game is released or close to release then it will liven up again. Until then i'm not really playing any games either, apart from a little EVE now and again.

Turn based, looks smooth, mac version, loved Divine Divinity and its soundtrack, and largely down to LordCrash's enthusiasm I've sent them some of my gold. Another cloth map to put up!

I think this is an absolutely fantastic idea! It seems as though this mechanic will add a nice touch of realism, make one think about positioning much more carefully, and require more thought and situational awareness in each encounter. Its nice to see fresh ideas being added that are not just gimmicks but seem to have a nice level of complexity to them. This is exactly the kind of idea I was looking forward to seeing! Awwwweeeesome!

Oh dear, I spent about 30 minutes laboriously reading through the French only to find an English translation at the bottom! -
