http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/ Still, Id recommend you get a friend who can draw to do it instead. Anyone whos ever used PS or any such program will cringe when they see youve just used filters to make your map.

Art does look pretty cool, whats the premise? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It starts off a little like Moore's "Watchmen" in that we have a supergroup that scattered many years ago and we now see the heros in their lives 20 years afterwards. Automatic Kafka is an android and what could be considered the main character. But its very quirky and strange and theres really no red line to follow. Its just a fun and chaotic experiment of art and text.

This is rather worrying because without a way to export models/textures into NWN2, there is no way to create custom content. Even more worrying ist he part about skinned/textured objects, its difficult to know what he meant but it sounds like the plugin can only import the meshes.
-
Id recommend everyone to buy the 9-part series "Automatic Kafka" that was released on... Wildstorm I think. The art alone is worth it

The chat hasnt actually started yet so its just spam. And some people, this person just got into the chatroom and asked what NWN2 was.

Isnt this the same thing as with Intellectual families getting only a few children but trailertrash breeding like rabbits?

If D&D was a good system, you wouldnt have classes in the first place but you could put together a character however you wanted it. edit: *snip* It made sense in my head. Apparently it didnt translate that well into writing.

or what I was actually talking about: 3) A cooperative of developers band together in a joint effort to start a system for selling and distribtuing their and others games online and charging only as much as it takes to keep the service running. Thus, customers sadly does not get a nice box and a disc but instead they pay much less and most of the money they pay go to the developer of the game they bought. -
Yes. Anyone can look good onscreen but making music requires practise and a bit of talent.

From what Ive read in the psionics book for 3.5, Psionics is nothing but another version of magic. The "spells" are the same effect and rulewise but their descriptions are rewritten to fit a psionic theme. So if you already have magic, psionics are redundant. A psionic belongs in apsionic campaign and nowhere else.

As a scientist *cough* Im apalled by this blatant disregard of nuclear physics. You cant dim a star.. the dimmer switch would need to be gigantic " -

Wont the shadier races of your game have a hard time inside the Dyson sphere? I mean its full sunlight 24h a day and not much room for digging dungeon " -
For what we've seen earlier, all the 3.5 core classes are there including Ranger. They couldnt get away with removing Rangers, just imagine all the poor(tragic) Drizzt fans out there? "

Precisely, if you pay for the TV channel where a certain series is broadcast, you have every right to download episodes of it from the internet as long as the two versions are the same. It would not be legal to dowbload a DVDrip that has extra material that wasnt broadcast because you havent paid for that content.

The NWN toolset is not directly compatible with NWN2. In fact, the only things I think you could keep would be some scripts and the written dialogue. It would be a waste of effort to first make a NWN module and then port it to NWN2. And you cant really make a Design Document until you know what the toolset will be capable of.

BSG is a pretty sweet series. Ive just watched the first two episodes of the second part of Season 2 and it was great. Krookie: look to Galactic Civ 1& 2. Space, turnbased, combat.

Exactly. And with this system the developer will get so much more of the profits from the sales of games that the risk of bancrupcy is much less. Furthermore, if a company "goes down" they will still control their own IPs and so could very well decide to declare all their software free for download, modification and distribution so that other devs could benefit from their technology. ALSO: Newest news from another conference for euro game developers. There is talk of establishing an "asset collection" for devs big and small where members of the European Game Dev Association(or what theyre called) can add and take material for use in games. Everything from models to middleware or snippets of code and complete engines. The idea is actually borrowed from EA Games that are setting up such a system right now to speed up development times What it would mean is that a dev could produce games much faster because there would be no need to make things from scratch. You could take readymade assets modify them and put them in your game. I know the first thing that you think is "But then all games will look/be alike!". But that is not true, not all things are visible to the player and those who are would be modified beyond recognistion. -
And thats one of those overrated albums. The real masterpieces are "Wish you were here" and "Animals"

Id guess that this delay isnt because the game needs more polishing, but because ATARi doesnt want NWN2 to affect sales of D&D Online. I just hope they will let OE work on NWN2 until September and not just put it on ice.
-
I didnt know it was delayed in the first place. This completely ruins my plans for spending my summer freetime doing a design demo with the NWN2 toolset. And is sure as hell wont have time to do that when the autumn semster starts in late August. But I hope theyre actually working on polishing the game this extra time and not just sit around while the lawyers and accountants of the publisher>distributor>retail chain grind their coggs. Sometimes the publisher will decide that a game should be released at a later date because it wants to have the market clear for other title launches and the game just sits on the shelf that time.

KISS > Ac/Dc (and 'A Perfect Circle' is rubbish. MJK alone does not a Tool make )

But sometime the corporate world just sneaks up on you. Ive just been offered to be part of a group that will produce animations (hand and MoCap) for an upcomming AAA title which will be a an Action-adventure/RPG. We'll be meeting next week to see who makes the team and the conditions. Ill be doing this as a student, but Ill be employed, paid and forced to sign an NDA
