  1. There's always some hairy dude photo-bombing a beer's selfie. edit:
  2. I'm up for more outdoor areas. It seems like the most predictable and inconspicuous goal. And don't forget the crates. Stretch goal for more crates.
  3. There's a difference between having a company beholden to someone and someone writing one sentence - (probably)yes/(probably)no - that he knows would mean a lot to (quite) some people. It's a difference similar to someone saying "It would be nice", "I wish" or "It would be a good idea" and someone saying "I demand". Spotting such a difference might also, in some contexts, be a difference between being an idiot/douche or not.
  4. Gameplay video. Chris Avellone revealed that they had a gameplay video coming with the backer site in his MIGS presenation and in Update 67 there is 37.0 (man weeks?) worth of work on a "Press Demo" in Production Milestone 3 which is either the current or just previously past milestone. I'd say there would be a bit of schedule rubber banding atm as by my calculations they should be a week into Production Milestone 4. It is possible they have chosen to continue Production Milestone 3 until the end of the year (thus making it a bit longer than 6 weeks) and that would make sense because they are after all currently working on the Mega Dungeon, with Twin Elms slated for Production Milestone 4. Is Mr. Brennecke going to have to sweep for bugs?
  5. Here's an example of a backer site, that rolled out very shortly after the end of Kickstarter campaign. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/ Take special not about the "funds raised" value EDIT: Backer site is not just for the existing backers. EDIT2: And it's not a stupid question.
  6. Backer site is almost finished and has been planed to be released before thanksgiving, but has been delayed to avoid giving tech support gray hair during the holidays. Meanwhile they found out, that it still had some serious bugs, so they delayed the launch a bit more to fix them. Now we all hope that it will be done by next week, or it will probably have to be delayed again to avoid giving tech support grey hair during the holidays. No worries. They really REALLY do want to launch it as soon as they can. The delay of the big1 is embarrassingly long as it is
  7. Just press "A" button on your controller. Having any numeric button as (one of) the continue buttons would be nice. It would allow players to easily spam-skip parts of conversations.
  8. I. I've never been a fan of ranger's animal companion. I've always found them more of a maintenance nuisance, than an asset, whether it being P&P, or games (not saying they are useless, just that the negative outweighed the positive, for me). I find them tolerable only after an enormous portion of autonomy is given to them - in other words, if they're playing themselves almost all of the time. In light of this, I hope, that if a versatile class has the ability to have a permanent animal companion, this is only one optional build for the class and that the companion is not a mandatory part of the calculation of "strength" of the class. I'm thinking about rangers here, because they're one of the most versatile classes in 3.Xed. If having a companion is a core element of a class in PE, I'll most probably just avoid that class, but seeing how one class could be so good, if only one could switch a companion for something else, would make me sad. II. For the classes that will have an animal companion (is this confirmed, BTW?), I hope, that they have a great number of choices. I'm not a fan of animal companions, but in NWN2:SoZ my feat strained ranger went as far as taking exotic companion feat, just to have a dinosaur. Armadillos, sloths, pandas, koalas, platypussies, monitor lizards, hippos, turtles, snakes, pigmy mammoths, performing chimps, swarm of bees, swarm of dancing fleas, albatross, ... Please! Surprise me! Anything out of the ordinary I find int he list of animals - I know I'll be pleasantly surprised and happy about it. III. Having equipment for companions would be tricky from several different perspectives: - It would be very costly to have equipment (Armor? backpacks? What else is sensible to put on an animal companion?) rigged and designed for each animal model separately. - It would be costly to have all the different companions balanced based on equipment (Assuming, that an armor made for a horse doesn't fit on a dog, badger, bear, ...). - What would be an explanation for pieces of animal equipment laying around? For me, it's entirely acceptable, perhaps even sensible, to have horse or dog armor. What about bear armor? Ferret armor? Koala armor? What would be a believable story behind that? How would one go about crafting such an armor and how much time would that take and cost? IIII. Do animals have souls? Do animal companions have souls? Would a 3ed paladin's horse have a soul? Do puppies go to haven?
  9. Meanwhile, we're still struggling to understand why the OP was made in the first place. "For no readily apparent reason" is not a reason. *Love the use of the word "disclosed" by the way. Maintains the high level of conspiracy nuttiness we've come to know and love. If, after 5 pages, you can not find a single probable reason, there's really nothing I can do or say, but stand in awe. Disclose: to make (something) known to the public English is not my first language, so I don't know any other or more appropriate words for making something previously unknown known to the public. I'm not interested in conspiracy nuttiness you've gone and love, so I don't know what the CT jargon is. With my limited vocabulary I just have to refuse having words taken hostage.
  10. Because it was the reason THEN? But they found bugs LATER? Do you follow this or do you need a drawing? And we were told that they found the bugs later AFTER the OP has been made. Keep your macaroni pictures of potatoes for yourself, cupcake.
  11. Where is the logical implication? There isn't one, logical or otherwise. Last week Obsidian stated the site wouldn't be up. Full Stop. That's it. There hasn't been any other news that the site would be up a week later. All we have is nerd raging, threads being created and people like yourself saying, 'oh but there's a logical implication' where there is none. The only logical implications are those people who create them in their own fantasy reality. We're not even talking about the same thing and that's the reason why this thread is, like it is. I loathe to put more time into this thread. It's lost all of its venting steam purpose a long time ago and it's not making anyone look good.
  12. You have forgotten this quote: And you have omitted the rest of the quote where, although not explicitly said, but is grammatically very heavily implied, that the reason for the delay is lack of support over Thanksgiving weekend. Anyway, this quote is relevant to OP, but does not explain the phenomena of people rebuking OP with information disclosed after the OP has been made.
  13. Meh. I'm just going to try to bribe Buck from GB into sending me an interesting email Fundraiser for such just cause is always an option.
  14. There isn't any logical implication. Dev's didn't want to start the website without support on holidays. In the meantime they found out there are bugs that need to be removed, so they postponed the start of the website. That's it, no deception, no lying. Relevant quotes arranged for your viewing pleasure in the chronological order they appeared (if the explanation for the delay appearing in the only thread with the upset OP isn't setting up a clear enough context):
  15. You never did explain how Obsidian have been somewhat deceptive. Probably because you can't. Are you waiting for a dev quote explicitly stating this? You won't get it, because there is no such quote. What there is, is a logical implication. But judging from your posts, that's not for someone like you.
  16. It should be, with backers like that I would advise any dev to not bother. One(2, 3?) person got upset about clearly contradicting information and now there should be no information at all, nor should any information about the project directly financed by the community be shared with this community? Please, look back through nearly 70 update treads and try to draw the same conclusion again. As it is, the stupidity of your posts is overwhelming.
  17. Thanks Adam, I think that's exactly what everyone wanted to hear Speak for yourself. I wanted to hear: "Here's the update!"
  18. I like my trolls to be frightening because of what they (can) do, not because of how they look. These look like some smaller version of DA:O ogres and I didn't particularly like the look of those. All the horns and other head crenelations just look like someone was out to check the scary checkbox several times.
  19. I really like the concept art for the second big city. Seeing that, however, mad me question how big this city is actually going to be. Its buildings aren't really designed as something that can be crammed together to minimize the distance/travel time between various places, as is the norm in the big cities. So, on a scale from Beregost to Athkatla, how big is the second city going to be?
  20. Screen shots may not only be of areas. And I'd venture a guess, that this would take about 50 screen shots after the site is launched IF they really are updated every week, not just when there is no other update. EDIT:
  21. They've really got BG style portraits spot on. The portraits are great and they are exactly what Sawyer said they are aiming for (trying to have portraits that are applicable to all classes). Would Kaz have gone for the IWD style, I'd probably be tap dancing right now. Both other screenshots are also pure delight to look at. It's a shame we only get to see them like this. I hope once the backer page is accessible, they'll be updating the screenshot section at least weekly. No update -> new screen shot(s). It would give (us) excited peeps something to chew on until the next update.
  22. Yes. I. Do. I'm in awe of some of the listed effort estimation values. P:E team members must really be: experienced dedicated good robots any combination of the above For me, backing this project has already paid off just by such information alone. And it's still the game I'm most anxiously anticipating and fired up about.
