  1. I can't - not really. I'm not trying to provoke or attack or anything, but could You elaborate? Never was it said, that it's "a little bit of digging". Quite the opposite. As stated in OP, it's a lot of digging - basically full regression testing of mechanics by the sound of it. So no, this does not provide solution for both parties but quite a big problem for (the more thorough) one.
  2. That's true - patch notes do take some time to write, but in my experience not that much time. Then again, I don't know how Obsidian (or Your company) is organized, because when I was writing release notes as a lead QA I actually could (and did) take whatever has been resolved in the issue tracker since the last release and sumarized each resolved issue in a line. I also think, that taking a couple of hours more to write comprehensive notes is well worth it, if you want to get quality feedback on changes that are not yet final.
  3. Are You a professional game journalist?
  4. Oh, that's extra good news then. I never knew what that gif should suppose to represent - I always thought it was some kind of implied facepalm or something like that. It's hard to tell with Banderas sometimes.
  5. Unity 4.6 I know what Unity is. I know that a few weeks ago 4.6 was released. I even mentioned it on these very forums. What I do not know is what's up with Sensuki's reaction to the news. Google that for me, if you will...
  6. Building a production release is never a time and a place for cutting corners in SW development. "If it compiles, ship it." has always been a joke, not philosophy.
  7. Any chance of getting a mac and/or linux build before the holidays? I don't know about mac, but linux build is waiting for some fixes to unity engine. Unity3D 4.6 has been released in the end of November, so I'm keeping my hopes up.
  8. Half of developers not even making it to the first big city kind of implies that considerable portion of content is not main quest related.
  9. More concurrent dev updates and activity have spontaneously been moved to beta forums, which is understandable in my opinion. I don't really know if beta forums have restricted access. If they have, I'd recommend to lift the restriction. With all the streams and youtube content of the beta, it doesn't make sense to have one. Regarding your other statements, I do not intend to say much more than that I disagree. Is content revealed in beta not enough? How much of revealed content - also known as spoilers - would you like then?
  10. Incredible. Any ETA? Another month?
  11. Well, damn. Just finished IWD2 a week ago and now I'm going to have to install the first one again. I have a feeling it's the same with all IE games. When someone starts a thread about one of them, someone else goes and installs it. Also, I'd never call IWD bland. Yes, it's a dungeon crawler with just a few quests sprinkled on top, but despite this it has quite a few memorable NPCs and arguably the most memorable locations.
  12. I've read the opening post, but not yet the whole thread: what difficulty were you playing on? One could expect to steamroll on easy with a min-max party, so that quite an important bit of information.
  13. It is my understanding, that one can still buy addons, if he already has an existing pledge. My guess would also be, that if one is able to purchase backer beta addon, that one can then also play it. Distribution is handled by steam, the only thing provided by Obsidian is the steam beta key and it would be extremely inappropriate if they were still (after 3 weeks) selling something that can not be used. Mind You, that so far only windows version has been released.
  14. Oh, so someone answered two days ago on twitter. I wonder how I managed to miss that... I guess the joke's still on me, but at least now it's because I've been asking on official forums and not for buying beta access.
  15. Heya, it's me, Jajo! I'm asking again: where's the beta for linux? You've said it will be available, yet after more than a month, not even a single word. I've asked this twice before. Since it's stated, that you have personnel reading every reply (I'm going to have to take your word for it), I'm hoping to at least get a reply this time. By now I'm really pissed about th whole thing, BUT THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM, EH!?
  16. My guess would be not before the game goes fully live "winter 2014". Same goes for the Mac version. I'm talking about backer beta for linux, not the full game.
  17. It's been almost a month now. Again: ETA on the linux version - you know, the one that's been said will be available while people like me were buying beta access.
  18. It's not the linux version, but such a hefty update is always a nice surprise
