  1. I find the difficulty of White March more in line with what i want from the game though i feel like it's still a little easy but that's probably because i am vastly over leveled and geared for the xpac. Some of the fights in White March are brutal while others are boring. They may need to find a happy medium between filler fights and memorable fights.
  2. I actually quite enjoy the dragon fights for their change of pace. Not only are they very tough (High deflection and DR) unlike most of the enemies you face but they also have awesome accuracy meaning they can chunk even the hardiest tanks. I also enjoy them because they have breathe weapons and some of them have adds. These fights require you to position correctly, control/handle the adds effectively and understand the buffing and debuffing potential of all your classes. That is assuming of course you don't cheese the whole fight using Gaze/Paralysis spells which i would never recommend unless you are playing on PoTD and then anything goes. Honestly if you want to cheese the Alpine Dragon fight the best spell is Stasis Shell (20-25 seconds of CC) from a Cipher. Use it on the big bad, wipe out everything, heal/rez and start a 6v1 romp stomp by chaining deflection/accuracy debuffs coupled with accuracy and DR buffs to the party. I enjoy the combat in this game my only complaint is that the level of difficulty scales up pretty quick meaning there is a tremendous difference between 90% of the game and certain boss fights or random pack of mobs. For example the mercenaries outside Concelhaut's tower with the brawlers were harder than any boss fight i did in the regular game or thus far in the xpac besides the Alpine Dragon which is weird.
  3. Im glad someone can kill the dragon because i certainly can't not without superb rng or extreme cheese
  4. Yeah i realised that after but unfortunately i lost three of my summoning items and about 15 lockpicks haha. Ah well they werent essential but just like you said...frustrating.
  5. To use a MMO term a monk is most effectively built in my experience as an offtank. Draw the majority of targets with your fighter/paladin and then use the monk to pick up the one or two that attempt to flank. If you are struggling buff the monk with your Ciphers DR buff if you have it or any applicable priest buff and then once your wounds pick up just wreck the other enemies. If you build high accuracy and run with leather/light armour you will have a basic DR and with the buffs will be durable enough to dish out the damage. If you want to build him as a tank, take all the tanking talents and abilities and use DR buffs. Not optimal but viable on hard i think with a good supporting cast.
  6. It was no problem at level 8 haha. Damn that pesky reload save feature.
  7. They are static. On the flip side you can also reap the rewards of higher level areas if you can manage them.
  8. Hi, For the first time i removed Aloth from my party so i could use Kana for his story mission. Aloth had 13 lockpicks and 2 statue summoning items and a scroll. When i had Aloth rejoin my party later he didn't have anything that was in his inventory or quick slots. I can't imagine this is working as intended? I can't give anymore detail as to the sequence of events that lead to this. I simply travelled to my stronghold and switched out characters. I then went and did some of the Endless Dungeon and then when i returned the items were missing. Ps. Have checked my stash and other characters for the missing items. Thanks and regards,
  9. I wish they would make the discovery of hidden objects based of character perception level. Why does my ability to make a spring loaded fireball allow me to spot/find a hollow atone in a wall lol.
  10. Honestly the stronghold mechanics aren't bad but it needs more interactivity. Bounties are nice as are resting bonuses. There need to be servants, people around other than inactive guards and simplistic merchants. It would benefit from a sub plot of its own aka DeArnise had the whole noble trying to steal it thing. I really want a treasure room with more than one chest ,<.< I find the stash useless for organising my gear as it won't let me separate by specific categories (crush/slash/rings) So I have to use chests haha.
  11. Emerwyn that movie analogy only works if you had to CHOOSE to see the huge banner and plane. It takes the act of clicking on the tombstone to break your immersion. Don't click on it and your immersion is in tact and you've lost no content.
  12. I'm not sure why you would need two tanks for anything below PoTD. Just make one solid tank and have a dps who can serve as a OT. My Eder has +5 engagement targets or something and if you salvo with guns you can almost always chunk a enemy or two. Not to mention spells/traps. By all means use two tanks but I would say just use your spells more efficiently. Priest level three all defence spell + accuracy buff/Debuff should be fine for hard with proper gear on eder. Can also use a ciphers bubble of DR ownage if you need (+DR) Leading with a spell like rolling flame/fan smells too much like the old Cloudkill/Fireball gaming in the IE games even though aggro occurs but I guess whatever helps you. Might do a video of just a fight or two. One showing proper choke point usage in a battle and one showing optimal use of priest spells and positioning benefits.
  13. Weapons with DR reduction abilities (maxed, stilettos, blunderbuss) Buff your parties accuracy with your priest Use chokepoints and single target the hardest hitting foes For you specifically I believe its a combination of being under leveled and also not having a lot of first strike capabilities. You need to open fights with damage that is meaningful to put you ahead. Your healing cannot compete with party wide damage if you aren't bottlenecking effectively so he who bursts hardest can help you win. Seek a nuke mage or cipher or a built ranged rogue. Good luck Use fast attacking ranged or CC spells on casters/gun wielding ranged mobs

  15. The only gripe with my monk is that he does too much damage and with my +5 engagement Eder it can be hard to get monsters to attack him. Would love a taunt of some sort so I don't have to 50/50 position for mobs. A monk without wounds is only half as useful. From a RP perspective a monks stats really only fit if they are a tank monk which is no where near as fun for me lol.
  16. My level 7 party doesn't have an issue with shadows, shades or phantoms lol. Bounties and random encounters in older areas though...GG Ghostie guide Fan of flames spell + Bulwark of elements Or Mental binding + anything
  17. It might be level locked. They made some of them gated by level. It should unlock later if so.
  18. Debuff deflection, paralyse or flank them and don't use ice spells. I also had success with crush weapons from memory. Ps. Phantom perma stun when I was level 3 lol.
  19. I ended up using Aloth as I got him significantly sooner than all my other companions. However as mentioned Durance is probably your best option.
  20. A cipher with a blunderbuss maximises your ability to cast abilities as you generate so much focus. Termokaden pretty much covers the talents perfectly.
  21. I'm not sure about your party comp but possibly it's the priests of berath wrecking you. Focus them with fast attacking ranged weapons and or use knockdowns and paralyze effects. If it is a positioning issue where squishies are getting railed. Make sure your tank (Eder/NPC) is well in front of your backliners. Make use of stealth to position and don't be afraid to range pull enemies back to natural choke points doors/stairs/corridors. Honestly most difficult fights are only made difficult by misplay. Don't move your characters while they are engaged (red arrow from the enemy to your character) and make sure to use your accuracy buffing skills and debuffs especially anything impacting enemy accuracy and deflection. If you are still struggling try on easy for a little while or check out some gameplay vids. You may not be pausing enough to execute actions. Good luck
  22. Can't wait to get the game on the 27th of March Woohoo go Aussies (~>__<~)
  23. This thread should definitely be stickied. Some excellent work on here either making or finding some of those portraits! My brother and i can now fully custom portrait our custom parties (After the first few playthroughs of course )
  24. Thanks for the help folks. EB Games has the collectors edition 'hint' book which i assume is the Prima guide...Though they couldn't tell me. I didnt want to end up with the almanac/lore book. Might be easier to go with the digital copy as DruidX suggested. Thanks folks.
