Will any of you be pulling a David Gaider?

Sounds like you need to build her a shrine. She's got a lot of catching up to do. -

So uh, why was KOTOR2 rushed?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to -Zin-'s topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You have a chipped Xbox ? The reason why the PC version is buggy, is probably the same as why every other crossplatform PC/console game is buggy. -
Wing commander prophecy wasnt it ? The one where you ended up doing a death star run on the Kilrathi homeworld.

Sticks and rocks

Defelction will work fine so you dont really need a lightsaber even if your standing in the middle of a pack of blaster troops. Finished it without a weapon which isnt as hard as it sounds. -
The movie Pitch Black. You will understand when you see the encounter. The alien gun is in a crashed ship I think, or it could be through the time portal.

Whats the official "Revan" head?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Master Horn's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
might want to get your eyes checked. " Darth Revan Human Male Evil (I'd say Lawful Evil) Dark Jedi Revan was a Jedi who fought in the Mandalorian Wars when no other Jedi would. He was considered a hero in every sense of the word as he freed the galaxy from the expanding Mandalorians. But then he and his apprentice, Malak, found something dark and terrible that changed them forever, and they fell to the Dark Side, becoming Darth Revan and Darth Malak. I thought Revan was really cool looking in the game, with his helmet and armor. I wish you could wear them yourself. So I made a cool custom version of him. Those are custom builds not official Lego SW btw. -
One of the few games I had to practice at before actually getting anywhere. The first boss was like hitting a brick wall. Afterwards it seemed to level off but it was a shock to the system.

Might be some in the brotherhood bases. Otherwise I dont recall any until the final phase of the game. There is a vendor that sells it just before you leave for the final area. I prefer the turbo plasma myself.

The Reason why Kriea didn't kill the exile
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to mrchallenge's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That your counter explanations are so shaky (even to yourself) should put that gameplay cant lie beyond doubt. :D Kreia and the Exile have a force bond it's real and it dosnt result in either one dying in combat if the other does. Any theory that dosnt take that into account cant be true. -
Why is the ending disliked???
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Weaponmaster303's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Different style of game. Those sort of choices are obsolete when you have a character that is their own person rather than a puppet. The cut content would have been a continuity nightmare. Although things could have been handled better. Without knowing the reason why the content was cut you cant really attribute blame. -
I'll take a newbie raised by the new Jedi order which emerged in KOTORII. If your going to write a game where you intend to use the same character for the duration, then that needs to be something determined from the begining so you can pace the game accordingly.

The Reason why Kriea didn't kill the exile
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to mrchallenge's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Except those characters were not "rewritten" . It could quite possibly happen in KOTORIII though. -
You cant write a game that relies on the player having played KOTOR and created their own Revan though. While it's ok to have little easter eggs for people who have done so, you still need to make the thing as standalone as you can. For example in KOTOR II it really dosnt matter if you played KOTOR. You may have gotten more out of the Revan bits if you had, but he/she still serves the purpose as a background NPC regardless. But since Revan is a case of a bit of revisionist history there isnt much of a connection with the KOTOR version. Rather in KOTORII your seeing Revans true self, albeit through third parties and from a distance. If KOTOR III is going to switch across consoles your going to lose players and gain others new to the series. Given the 360's questionable backwards compatibilty issues its not a given that you will be able to fill in the blanks by playing the previous games, so even more than KOTOR II KOTOR III must be able to stand up by itself.

The Reason why Kriea didn't kill the exile

It's revistionist history. None of those motives were applicable at the time of KOTOR. -
"The Revolution will use cutting edge technology, but it's ultimately about how that technology is used," he said. "We asked ourselves, "Why would a family need or want to have a gaming console?" The answer is what's driving development of the Revolution. "What we want to do is different - and we're happy with the road we're taking," Miyamoto continued. "When you have a Revolution, you're not going to have the same experience as you would with the other home consoles." Miyamoto's comments follow on from Nintendo's E3 conference, where the emphasis was firmly placed on "All-Access Gaming" - titles that are easy for anyone to pick up and play. Revan's identity versus Exile's amnesia
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You dont start KOTOR with anmesia. That would be a neon light the most obtuse gamer couldnt miss. Because in KOTOR II you start off with amnesia and you fill in your memories over the course of the game. It's really more selective recolection than amnesia though. Your identity is never hidden from you , you simply shape it as it fits your character concept over the course of the game. It's your character, you should know your character well enough to answer those questions with ease. -
You never know. Lego SW did really well and no one seems to dislike it. It's not really much more than a new skinning job to make a KOTOR version of it. I'd rather see an OT Lego before that though.
-
Thats quite likely. But thats where your always going to run into problems. Even as far back as BGII , BGII simply took the view that what you did in BG wasnt important and set it's own reality. Sometimes trying to jump through hoops to keep people happy isnt the way to go. Unless you set the game way into the future, then recuring characters are always going to be a problem, although as long as they are all NPC's you can do what you like with them. It's when you try to take a former PC and use it as an NPC that the big problems start. People really just need to come to terms with the fact that while they may have created Revans false identity (although Bastila's 20 questions would disupute that..) they didnt create Revan and he's as much an NPC as Carth etc. Once he regained his memories, the players input became obsolete.
-
I do. Revan has been doing stuff that you are now completely unaware of he now knows more than the player does. Do you think it's an accident that they erase characters memories to make them playable? In other wordds while Revan knows whats going on the player is completely clueless. You will meet NPCs you dont "know" but Revan will already know them. What the amnesia shtik does is to put the player and character on equal footing. Because thats the player simply choosing how they want him to turn out. Thats not roleplaying.
