It's something they routinely do to their own troops too. Locking someone up can be defined as torture if you so choose. Under those broad definitions it's a pointless debate.

It's a waste of time until someone comes up with a definition anyway. Like you ,or was it Hades said locking someone up does cause mental harm and that is under the broad definition of torture. Parading people around naked, might be humiliating, but It dosnt really qualify as what I would call torture.

Waste of time since those photo's I was refering to were mock up's and caused the resignation of a noted tabloid journalist (editor) to boot.

Thats something they wanted to do. Put someone in a cell and just kill them one night in their sleep. It was deemed as cruel and unusual punishment.

That dosnt seem to me to qualify it to be taught as science. In most cases of things yet to be proven they are based on established principles. So far the only bit of "evidence" for ID is the complexity theory. However if a speices evolves different types of eyes (with some having no eyes , or non functional eyes) depending on how it has evolved I don't see eyes as being a point in favour of ID. The Panda is something of an evolutionary mistake (and it's lucky it's cute). No one would intelligently design a Panda , it's the sort of thing you might create after a night down the pub.

Don't you get the exact same problem with god ? Actually it makes a lot more sense that man created god rather than the other way around if you think about it.

I like it, I'm not far into it but the control system hasnt driven me crazy, the VO cast is very impressive and the story is intriuging. Can't think of a game since Ocarina where shooting from horseback has worked quite so well. Few glitches here and there, mostly clip related. But nothing to bad. Looking at the layout, it's going to be a short main plot, which you can pad out by doing side quests etc. Has some RPG ish elements, like shopping ,character upgrades based on mission performances.

It's a little larger than the average mobile phone screen (which was the idea to start with) so anyone used to gaming on a phone shouldnt have a problem with it. You wouldnt want to stare at it for 10 hours, but thats not the purpose of handheld anyway.

I dont see any reason for owning one since the DS does the job. The screen is actually very good though. It's well lit and very clear. The Famicom Micro(version that looks like the old Famicom console) sold out in Japan over a weekend.

He's right though. If you don't question then you can't grow. If you think religion gives you all the answers, then by looking for new answers your doubting your faith.Even if that means sticking your fingers in your ears and ignoring the evidence that is right in front of your eyes, or calling it some sort of grand conspiracy.

20 million + certainly large enough to support multi million sales without effort. JE coming from a known company, FFI coming from a company on the last throw of the dice as it were. JE was played as part of the trailers in UCG cinema. It was also on TV , in magazines and had seriously overrated reviews from the usual suspects. If you can't break a million with that sort of advertising then your a failure. TV advertising is easy to ignore, you just flick channels. Can't do that in the cinema. Really dosnt matter where I set the bar , I'm not lowering it just to make Bioware fanboys happy. That sounds like an excuse, especially as the Xbox unit is currently still in the top 10 chart as well as the PS2 (in it's respective chart).

I'm going to swing by blockbusters later. Ironic really, it's the fact that it is short that is going to let me fit it in some playing this afternoon.

Science is an evolution of phillosophy. Where there are conflicts I would defer to science.

One very far away from science. Unless it's prepared to fight it's corner like any other scientific theory. I'd put it in the same catagory as any other mythology. Greek Myth/Latin was one of my favourite subjects (much more the myth part than the latin part obviously).

Funny, looking around and seeing all the critters is actually why I believe in a higher power. The big problem with science classes is that many teachers take the stance that the big bang theory and evolution disproves the possibility of a higher power. It doesn't. The Big Bang is a very low probability event. It may have had a helping hand. This should be made clear when it's taught. That doesn't mean you need to bring philosophy into the classroom. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It depends on your definition of higher power really. There is a world of difference between something that just happened along and created the big bang and then left. To something which people claimed created humans in his own image (even if we are actually evolved from something else).

I really enjoyed the GC fire emblem story. It is about saving the world , sort of. But that dosnt even become apparent until a couple of chapters from the end. If you pace the story right, then you can pull off both the epic save the world plot as well as more personal things (although it's much easier to do with a pregen) some sort of hook should be able to accomplish the same task.

Monster hits are things like FF/Dragon Warriors , GTA , Halo et al. Well the market was a lot smaller back in the days of FFI. Like I said though. If you can't break a million with cinema advertising (you know thats really ,really rare dont you ?) then you can't really claim JE as a hit.
