  1. Morrowind released in 1996??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> heh, just going with what EBGames has listed for it. Id never played it so went to buy a used copy and thats the release date EB had for it. Thats not the GotY edition though, FTR. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> February 2004 (GOTY) November 2002 (Regular). -UK release dates of course.
  2. Another three years (or more) till the next one. Makes you wonder what the PS3 version will be like dosnt it. Of possible interest for those in europe. Collosus is being released with ICO as a collector edition.
  3. Can't say I ever felt compelled to play any of the scrolls games because of the story. The wandering around for a day or two, but never the story. I always saw that as one of the flaws. In something like FFX , the story dragged me on even when the sphere grid was annoying the hell out of me.
  4. Thats how I became aware of it.
  5. Isnt the bible factually incorrect on so many levels. Even if something did kickstart the big bang. Thats a million miles aways from the tenets of religion and actually worshping. Heck it could have been a turd from the arse of a giant space slug :D Bet thats no ones idea of a supreme being
  6. Different sort of thing. Story based games never really become obsolete because stories never become obsolete. Morrowind on the other hand, well wandering around exploring isnt really going to change. You may as well wander around and explore in the most current enviroment. The story has been pretty much the same from Arena.
  7. I recall something like that last boxing day after the Tsunami. On one hand you had people who just couldnt accept that god would do that sort of thing. And on the other you had people saying, well god dosnt actually make the weather he just created the weather system. Both of which are kind of lose/lose. I dont see any reason to buy into a religion thats only been around for 2000 years. Thats a speck of dust. I'd rather buy into the Viking mythos, at least you could have a beer with Odin
  8. You always did have odd taste. But those are some really odd friends.
  9. I've heard that one. But you can trace back the evolution of eyes as well (things with non functioning eyes that live in caves etc as well as eyeless fish that live in the parts of the ocean that are pitch black (those things freak me out and should be called Fsh anyway). I think some people have a problem with evolution because they cant comprehend the time scale.
  10. Specified Complexity doesn't point to a designer still. It just points out we are complex. I disagree with it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The thing that gets me , is if it were that intelligent then there wouldnt be a need for evolution would there ? By intelligent I mean created by an infallible being. Given enough time any odds can come up I think.
  11. One of the real advantages of coming late to a genre is there is plenty of stuff out out there to play. As long as you dont mind the dated looks of course. I always have the same problem with Fire Emblem, so many characters and support conversations that you just can't fit them all in.
  12. Just wondering what the evidence is for Intelligent Design ? And if it is actually specific to a religious view ? After all if the building blocks of life were seeded by an alien race who then buggered off, would that qualify as ID ?
  13. That always used to remind me of playing warhammer. You had to have flat hills because figures wouldnt sit properly on "real" hill shapes.
  14. It's important when it comes to muitiplayer. But if everyone is playing on mouse alone, wouldnt be an issue.
  15. many, but not all, and not the majority. univeral health care in the US typically enjoys a <30% favorability rating. even bush's drug benefit would have lost if it were voted on by the population. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats quite suprising.
  16. NTL. No silver cable boxes apparently.
  17. Unlikely as it's on budget release way below that price anyway. Thats like saying why should I be embaressed with a 65% pass when I'd been getting 90% + upto that point. You don't cinema advertise a game then be happy when it sells half a million. Can't get much more failure than a cinema campaign and not even come close to breaking a million can you.
  18. People seriously dislike taxes. Especially people who have to fork over half of the money they earned which in a lot of cases leaves them even worse off since not only did they just lose half their income. They don't qualify for any of the free stuff either. If however there was more honesty in how these taxes were spent, or you could have optional taxes which you could opt out of (above the base rate obviously) then you may see some more altruism. For example many people would be quite happy to pay an extra 2% if that money was used only for the purpose of healthcare. They may not be as overjoyed to pay and extra 2% which could be spent on the millitary budget. I still think there are way too many freeloaders though. And it's seen as a soft option. I've heard (and had personal experience) or girls getting pregnent for no other reason than to jump to the head of the housing list for example.
  19. Lets say you have a TV, a couple of consoles, a DVD recorder , cable box and all that other stuff. Do you want them all in the same colour ? Does it bother your sense of asthetics that cable boxes dont come in silver, and yet everything else in your home theatre is coloured silver. Would you lose sleep over it ? Would you paint the dam thing silver and hope the engineer dosnt notice.
  20. Now that is ancient history. Even more so than BG.How many people knew who bioware was before they got a break at Interplay. For a company with Biowares current blog to only sell 600k have a game drop to bargain bin within a month or two and then be on budget within six I'd be embaressed :">
  21. It's pretty clear. Dosnt matter how many systems. Your saying the exact same thing I said. Bioware can't rake in those numbers on it's own merits. I set the criteria (known company , full development etc.), JE didnt meet those criteria, therefore it failed. Compared to Biowares other games it failed.May as well accept it.
  22. Eh, maybe I'm missing something but Morrowind GOTY with Bloodmoon and Tribunal is available for Xbox. It is a little tricky because both the original Morrowind and the compilation title were dubbed "GOTY" on Xbox. The compilation title actually shows Bloodmoon and Tribunal stuff on it. EDIT: Doh! I get it. You are talking specifically about backward-compatible titles for Xbox 360. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would think Oblivion would render Morrowind obsolete. Thing is I've yet to see a 360 run well at least in HD. Everything seems to have frame issues and the HD just seems to emphasise this. Could be hardware, but not much I could do about that.
