Not particularly. Not uncommon for people caught doing a crime to try to shift the blame onto someone else. In some circumstances. Such as if torturing someone would prevent another 9/11 but then what would be your call in that situation ? But we are back to the definition of torture again. I don't see them hooking peoples nuts to car batteries, or pulling their finger nails out with pliers for example. Or hacking off their ears (something Saddams regime routinely did). Since the army is made up of people and with people your going to get good and bad soldiers. All you can do is make sure the incidents are dealt with when they come to light.

Could be, V has a job system the brother sister thing dosnt sound familiar. Unless you mean the two sisters ? V also has 5 characters not 4. Mix and matching skills from the different jobs was my favourite part of 5. Things like a dual dragon lance slaying dragoon leaping into combat. Probably because more were released in Japan they had to be numbered retroactively.

No that's II.

It's the one I've been missing. Makes me glad I bought a DS now although I was glad I did anyway , so I guess I'm just more glad. Would have bought one for this in a heartbeat though.

Producer explains mystery behind the long-awaited port, reveals new additions to the DS version. While the 8-bit and 16-bit Final Fantasy games have proven to be popular fodder for rereleases on the Game Boy Advance, PlayStation, and WonderSwan Color, the 1990 Famicom game Final Fantasy III (not to be confused with the Super Famicom Final Fantasy VI, released on the US SNES as Final Fantasy III) has for years eluded a remake. However, it's about to lose that distinction, as Square Enix is readying a DS conversion of a game most American Final Fantasy fans have never had a chance to play. The latest issue of Famitsu contains new details on the game's development in an interview with executive producer Hiromichi Tanaka. Tanaka is best known as the head honcho of the Final Fantasy XI development team, but he's also an old-time Square staffer who worked on many of the early Final Fantasy home console games, including FFIII. Tanaka was heavily involved in the original game's development as one of its three planners, together with Hironobu Sakaguchi and Kazuhiko Aoki. Tanaka commented to Famitsu that he plans to be very hands-on in seeing the DS project through to proper completion, especially since the members working on the remake are different from the staff that worked on the original. Tanaka also addressed why it took so long for the game to be remade. Despite it being a Famicom game developed by a team of about 10 people, Tanaka said FFIII used some complicated programming techniques that couldn't be ported to other handheld gaming machines until now. Tanaka added that having gone so long without a port, gamers will be getting to experience a vastly upgraded FFIII. For one thing, the developers are remaking the DS version with 3D graphics--sort of. Tanaka said that the game will actually use "virtual" 3D graphics so its maps can't be rotated around, but the camera can still be zoomed in to show details. The characters in FFIII are being overhauled for style, as well as technology. While the original four main heroes in the Famicom version looked like quadruplets thanks to reused character graphics, the DS version will have different models for each of them. The visuals aren't the only thing being updated in the DS version. In the original Famicom release, the four main characters didn't have any personalities of their own. But with the DS remake, Tanaka will give different characteristics to each of them, which will have an impact on the game's storyline. There will also be fixes in the job system's balance so that gamers will have more freedom to choose how to fight in the game. Finally, FFIII will take advantage of the DS hardware, including the touch screen. In fact, Tanaka said that he plans to make the game completely playable with just the stylus. FFIII will also make use of the DS's wireless capabilities, although the game's main mode will still be a single-player affair. Tanaka didn't go into specifics on how it would use the system's wireless features, except to say he wanted to give people a bonus so they could enjoy the game with friends. I probably couldnt be happier if I won the lottery

Mine has a wand, your screwed (w00t)

Eh ? That makes it sound like I threatened you or something.

Those things are brilliant. Raising the sodding chocobo was harder than killing the end boss.

PS3 may not play used PS3 games...
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Epiphany's topic in Computer and Console
No arguement there. But equally businesses dont want things that will ultimately damage their business. Like I said it's a bit a grey area you cant resell PC games. I wouldnt say I wont buy one. Usually that comes along and bites you in the arse later (just ask Hades). Although I'm not happy about the idea of not being able to get a game I've previously missed. Heck I did the whole FF series (with the exception of III) backwards thanks to that. -
PS3 may not play used PS3 games...

Thats another one. I'll speak from personal experience here since I rent a lot of stuff. If blockbuster has it and it's interesting I will rent it. Now if blockbuster dosnt have it and it's still interesting I will buy it. Thats not a rule as such, but there are lots and lots of things that I've rented (especially on the Xbox) that I may have bought if the rental option wasnt there. Obviously someone without my moral conviction :D might look towards another avenue. -
PS3 may not play used PS3 games...

Well stepping back a moment, patenting the technology dosnt mean it will be part of the PS3. Resold games have always been a bit of a grey area. If you read most of the copyright agreements it says you can't resell them. My hunch is this. Much like developers get zip for a resold game, same is true of Sony and since the money is in the games not the hardware the second hand game business must be eating into the profits. When you see a nearly new copy of something for a significant ammount less than the new version as a consumer you may as well get it (since it's all fully intact and sold under guarentee anyway). But by doing so your only paying the store (unless there is somesort of kickback but it's certainly nothing i'm aware of). So yep the consumer in me is pretty outraged. But it does make sense when you look at it. Assuming it happens at all of course. -

Apparently not. Actually while I hate the idea I would think that developers would actually be quite in favour since they get nothing from resold games. Although I do only tend to buy used games I've missed I do tend to miss a lot of them by being away for long periods. -
Saitek so a nice flip over keyboard that doubles as a screen protector. I don't have a pocket big enough for PSP with all the paraphenalia added which always struck me as funny. Apparently the PSP is supposed to be another part of Sony's intergrated strategy so acting as a laptop of sorts might not be far from the truth. I still prefer the DS , its more practical and the games are much better suited to on the move play. Couldnt really see myself playing Liberty City while out and about.

I will have played a different version, although I dont recall anything like that occuring I suppose I was a bit lost in the moment. It's not officially released here till February. Just wondered if it might have been a technical issue of some sort with the machine thats all.
-
Yep although it needed a pause button it was easier to play than an IE game since each individual character had less options.
-
Yes, it's pretty. But it has serious framerate problems. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't say I noticed. Just thought of something you said Indigo Prophecy had framerate issues. Didnt happen to test them on the same PS2 did you ?
-
Yes and when you factor in the cell it swings the other way. I guess the people saying the PS3 is better when it comes to graphics power are correct after all.
-
Ninja Gaidens good but I had framerate issues especally in the first person. I keep meaning to rent Instincts but there are just too many other things around (as well as the non gaming stuff I'm required to do). I don't recall Sony ever saying that they had the most powerful console (maybe at launch time, but it was the only console at that time wasnt it). Anyway heres some fun news from Howard Stringer. The plan is for the PS3 to debut at 300 or 400 USD. It's part of the unified strategy thing. If that does turn out to be the case then thats good news.

That would depend on what you ended up sacrificing to do it. I was wondering that earlier. Point for point is 256k of dedicated graphic memory superior to 256k of generic memory.
