The story is weird I was all set for something Sci Fi. One of those games where the gameplay kept me going even though the story didnt really hook me for ages. The game definately takes a long time to come upto speed. And likewise for the characters differences to become apparent. On reflection, probably way too long towards the end of disk one it still felt like the intro in some respects. Liked the 'pedia a lot though, pretty much had to read it to know what was going on though.

I like FOT but all that manually cleaning up the battlefield annoyed the hell out of me. Chocobo pimping? game Well you could compare FO and FF and their relationship with FOT and Final Fantasy Tactics (Advanced).

Serenity trailer (aka the Firefly movie)

The only one I would even consider wearing is the one on the far left. -
If you were a solicitor you could excuse yourself Actually I wish more reviewers would do that especally that knob who reviewed Lost in Blue over at Eurogamer.

I'd say that depends on whether or not the series are connected. FOT for example has nothing whatsover to do with FO1&2 , it's not even the same genre. You may have more justification with FO and FO2 since they have a link (albeit a tenuous one). But even if you hated FO2 it would have no impact on how much you enjoyed FO. The only time I could see that becoming a factor is if you adondoned the series altogether because you hated game X. But then you would never know if things improved would you ? You couldnt apply that to something like the FF series, since appart from the names, they are like totally different games.

I've played worse. I rather liked the combat system and training the AI was pretty good fun as well. The bonus items made it more of a challenge too. I didnt want to go too far back

Enchant Arm looks interesting from a background perspective. Visually nothing there that isnt in FFXII by the look of it. Blue Dragon probably has the most pedigree (just looking at who is involved). That one if anything could tempt me to shell out for a 360. Far East of Eden looks like an alpha version of GC game. Not much else to go on yet. I'm taking a rental only approach with Bioware I've pretty much lost interest in the direction they are going. Lost Odessy isnt really doing it for me at the moment. Might change though, you never know. I'm still totally skeptical about the space issue anyway so If I see any of these appearing on one disk it better not have 20 hours of gameplay because of it.

Yep I call it pokemon with demons for obvious reasons. The only thing I dislike is the encounter rate. I think thats significant since I play a lot of JRPGs and normally it dosnt bother me. Pity help the people who dont breed a demon witn encounter reduction powers. There is one planned for the PS3 no details as yet though.

When it comes to video memory vs unified memory are they the same point for point ? IE would you get the same using 256 of dedicated video memory as you would using 256 of "generic" memory ?

I wouldnt say irrelevent. But certainly not enough to start gushing over. Some nice pics down in the NJ forum

Lets hope it's capable of more than that

That's something I've always liked, and always seemed to be missing in most console games back in the day. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shin Megami Tensei:Lucifers Call has something like 8 endings. Six normal and two secret. Star Ocean III has either 4 or 6 What I tend to prefer about console multiple endings is they don't have that stupid pick a good or evil outcome option , rather you wont even know what ending your going to get till you get there. Shadow Hearts II does let you choose, but it's not about good or evil , so it's rather more mysterious as to what your ending will be.

Sorry, not seeing it. Care to go into detail ?

Another big misconception. There isnt that much linearity in any of them. FFX-2 always stuck me as odd. It's non linear, but if you play it that way the story suffers (which happens with all non linear stories). Played in a linear fashion the story holds together really well. Irony here is that FFX is supposed to be linear, but you can jet off the main story path and not have too much impact on the story. As a rule once you get your "airship" in FF the world becomes totally open and you can go anywhere you like (and find all those secrets). The line of predefined isnt as clear as it once was. FFX-2 has several endings depending on your actions during the game.

You know for the longest time I thought Topher Grace was Donna (the hot redhead in the 70's show). Batman begins is probably my favourite. I didnt really enjoy Spiderman II as much as I did the first one.
-
Define recent ? FFX is my favourite story of all time. FFX-2 , really a continuation of that so not suprising they would have a lot in common. I think one of the key elements since IX has been it dosnt matter where you come from. It's what you do that defines you as a "person".
-
No , they do tend to have a common bestiary though which you can trace back to FFI. It's a bit like the D&D monster manual, each game has it's own "expansion monsters" but you still get the core monsters in each game too. Cloud is the only spikey haired boy with an oversized sword.

Most stories are. It's how they are told that makes them good or not.
-
Well catching someone is a prerequiste to punishing them at least in most legal systems.
-
They got punished for it. Hardly see that as condoning it.
-
The point is, it's ridiculous. It dosnt matter who says it , it will always be so.
-
Might be your view. But it's not the legal facts. You can't be held responsible for the action of people under your command unless you contributed to them in some way. Since it's not US policy to torture people in that way Bush isnt responsible for it.
-
That's ridiculous.
-
Not unless they have culpability. You don't see commanders court martialed when a soldier does something wrong. And if Saddam had complied it wouldnt have happened either. You can chase that line all day, but it still dosnt make Bush responsible for the actions of individuals

After playing FOT FO's combat system just seemed clunky and needlesly slow.
