That's very impressive. Someone on the Bioware boards told me to walk everywhere to extend the playtime. I wouldnt be too upset by the stortness thing, except we are crossing a generation. I mean I'm perfectly willing to accept that Genji is pushing the PS2 space as much as it can and since the PS3 is expanding the space with blu ray no problem there. However Gun and KONG are on the 360 and if they are already running into space issues (enchant arm ran out of space already) then that dosnt bode at all well. Who knows, maybe you will be able to finish Jade Empire II in three hours -

Kong just made the 20th spot on gameplays GC chart otherwise it's not even in the charts. <edit> DS version at 16 (pre order). Not a lot of kong love by the look of it. I sent mine back since it was sent to me by mistake anyway. -

I'm thinking more along the lines of space issues. -
DQ IX and FF XIII possibly on Xbox 360
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Epiphany's topic in Computer and Console
I guess M$ should have put more money into their console and less into an MTV spot with Frodo <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well the Japanese sides pretty much fallen flat. The lounge in Tokyo is all but abandoned (I mean have you see the arcades they have there). Only 12 Xbox titles are backwards compatiple and with the exeption of DO4 (which I think is still on track) there are no big releases for the launch. -
Naughty naughty Microsoft.

Unless for some reason you can't play the real sport. Otherwise yep your better off with the real thing. Which is kinda how I feel about the SIMs. I'd rather "play" real life. -
DQ IX and FF XIII possibly on Xbox 360
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Epiphany's topic in Computer and Console
Sqenix are doing FFXI which is usually where the confusion comes from. Since every other JRPG has gone slippedy slip till the middle of next year anyway it sounds like a bit of a scam. You might see some older FF stuff, but the 360 isnt a machine which particularly exites square since they reached the limit of DvD technology with FFXII. -
Look at the size of that thing

Launch games are usual weak, the only ones that are worth is the flagship titles of the publisher that also happens to be the console creator (example, Nintendo Zelda and Mario games for its systems). Six months later is were we see if it have legs to stand since its when actual 3rd party support starts to show up (or not). Its not a suprise DoA 4 is Xbox 360 lauch title (in japan anyway) since Techno is a big Xbox supporter (and the fact DoA lacks the competition of Nanco fighting games) but if you are getting a console on launch dont get suprised if it turns out to end up like the Dreamcast. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I doubt that will happen MS have a lot more money to throw around than SEGA did. Enchant Arms has slipped along with 99 nights which pretty much buggers up the JRPG front till the middle of next year. For a console that is supposed to be easy to work on there sure are a lot of games slipping or not making it out in the correct format. -
How would you "prove" Intelligent Design ?

I am an humanitarian. *munch munch munch* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know they dont mean the same thing right :D -
Samurai were pretty well versed in poetry despite being consumate warriors. Being thrown to the lions stuff like that. It really took off when the Romans found a use for it. If the only reason your giving is to get in good with the man upstairs then does it really qualify as charity ? It's more like paying your way into the afterlife. Yep religions have a functional use but for every positive there is a negative. You could say they balance out. Or not depending on your point of view.

I don't mind check point's I think Fire Emblem has the best idea though. You can save anywhere but doing so shuts down the game. Then when you reload it erases your save. That way you can only use the save feature to allow you to take a break rather than to just keep retrying something over and over. That removes the only weakness of save points, which is what if you need to stop playing and there isnt one around. I often play games without saving. Although it depends on how much time I have, not so much these days. well I played GUN without saving (except for breaks) I certainly dont recall any time when games were -
Why not ? If anything has changed society to that which we live in today it's that people have focused less on religion and more on science. People got along (or didnt) prior to any of those people even existing. Their existence really didnt change anything fundamental. People still kill each other, people still starve. Religions existed before them, new religions sprang up after them (see scientology).

Yes I think you had to beat it in under two hours without saving. I think it took 5 or 6 tries before I could do that. :"> Heres where I see the change. Maybe games like mario etc were the same length when taken from start to finish but when you factor in all the reset times you still got great value (like running out of lives 2 screens from the end and having to start over). Because of the save anywhere nature of games these days in many cases autosave, the playtime is exactly that. Short playtimes + easy games -

Well not to me I'm a vegertarian... If I wasnt though I'd want to know why the hamster thinks it has the right to dictate what I eat. I see at a biggie because it's trying to dictate my personal freedoms. I'd need evidence otherwise I'd tell the hamster to go spin on it's wheel. -
From a functionalist perspective theres a case for that. Survival of the fittest dosnt really apply in technological societies. Not from me.
-
Well it would be unfair to judge them from a contempory perspective I think. If you fast and expose yourself to the elements then you will have visions. Same could be said of the Oracle of Delphi. We may know that the "herb" infusion makes you "crazy". But at that time it was seen as a way to get closer to the gods. Rationality and religion, thats a novel concept.
-
That dosnt have anything to do with their validity though.
