Ungodly heat and humidity this weekend, couldn't detract from the coolest DC Comics Comic-Con in recent memory. Such a good buzz, Sunday we binge-watched BvS Ultimate Edition, Man of Steel, and Superman, 1978, Expanded Edition, 4K upscale. Seems clear now, the main problem with modern Metropolis movies is the lack of phone booths.

Love it. NCC-1031. Been a good weekend for nerd news. I just learned Luke Cage has equal strength to Loki of Asgard. Also, Punisher.

TR1 is hard ... vertical traversal, puzzles, combat, no prompts, no save-games. Pretty rewarding though, getting Lara to the top without falling and dying 67 times.

Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition. They say it contains thirty minutes of extra footage, but, honestly I didn't notice that many. Running time is over three hours, although it took four hours because I became obsessed with what kind of car Ms. Prince drives ... not a Jaguar, like I thought in the theater ... on pause it looks like some sort of Lotus, non-invisibility model. Unfortunately, Wonder Woman has no extra scenes, to my memory, so I'm saying 'Ultimate Edition' is a misnomer. Still pretty decent, dark genre film ... 6.7 out of 10. 11/10 based solely on WW.

Getting ready for BvS on Tuesday with Age of Ultron. Wanda Maximoff, Scarlet Witch, is easily the most powerful: Charm Person, Dominate Person, Dominate Crowd, Dominate Avenger, Dominate Infinity Stone, Deflect Energy Attack, Deflect Physical Attack, Project Energy Attack, AoE Disintegrate, Telekinesis, Runaway Train Stop ... probably Time Stop if she wanted, and a bunch more I'm forgetting from Civil War. If only she could cast Resurrection.

Where did he announce that? Last night during #ObsidianPlays. Except now they're saying it's the demo from E3, which I think is old news? I thought they were going to stream previously unseen gameplay.

Next to nil for blu-ray on Prime Day, although we did upgrade the main display to 4K. Also watched the All-Star Game. Was fun, and invigorating to see Tony Gwynn permanently affixed to the National League Batting Championship. The opposite of the feeling of shame is rare when your community has completed a singular eternity of professional seasons without winning.

There is no getting used to it. Once in awhile I bail for the Birmingham exit, stop at VG's in Cardiff--the best donuts in the county--and finish the commute up the coast highway through Encinitas, Leucadia, Carlsbad, and finally South O'. Takes twice as long to get home, but, ocean. And donuts. Very Good donuts.
