  1. Right on time, Ninja Warrior special delivery, Jesse 'Flex' Labreck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9ONO-4Mf4w
  2. Happy day! I hope to see whatever new shiny projectiles you may have collected.
  3. Don't move there, just get a vacation home. All the cool people have both platforms.
  4. Rad Games, Rio, great job, loved every minute. Except Ryan Lochte, who can go to hell/and/or Florida. The only difficult part, I've been waiting for the Winter Games two years, now I have to wait TWO MORE years.
  5. Oh man, I'm sorry, chronic pain is a cross we wouldn't be able to bear. Once again I realize my problems are minor. We are the addictive type. Smoking was a problem until we made an effort. I can understand painkillers, how they not only eliminate emotional deficit, but add a physical reward making you feel how you think you deserve to feel all the time. Never got in trouble or hurt anyone, but we have learned to channel energy into constructive things ... video games, movies, comics, beer. Any luck with the food trucks, today.
  6. I don't know anything about them, but I wonder if the combat companion-combo mechanic just wouldn't work well with friendly fire turned on.
  7. I'm not unfamiliar with Kubrick, although I haven't watched everything he did. 2001: A Space Odyssey is a thrill for me. Just couldn't figure out why FMJ has 'discipline' in abundance the first half, then it goes out the window--not the porthole. I'm no expert, but depicting long-haired 'Marines' who display zero combat discipline undermines what came before and what follows for the rest of the film. The 'period-accurate' sexism and racism in the movie didn't seem natural, either, just there to jar. Anyway, no movies today, need to read and stuff.
  8. "Okay, two meatballs, one tuna on wheat, and a lemonade ... that'll be $7.84" Point Break, 1991. Was great to see Patrick. Full Metal Jacket, up next. Haven't watched in years, don't remember everything, except the outstanding R. Lee Ermey. *edit* sorry, nevermind, my bad, I don't know who Stanley Kubrick is, but FMJ is an overt affront to sensibility. Maybe I just forgot how to watch movies. I'm going back to superhero films.
  9. Day of the Dead, November 1st, falls on a Tuesday this year. Coincidence?!
  10. Two tons of defense tonight against Arizona. First five series, three three-and-outs and two interceptions--one TD and a 61-yard return. Also, talks with Bosa have resumed for the first time since July 28. All-Pro Adorable fans react.
  11. They are definitely tough, even the little ones. She survived more than a month after the incident. The weird psychology of it is, her owner, my friend of twenty-five years, told me she 'fell'. I had known what actually happened since July. Today was a good car day. Up close and personal with a silver VW e-Golf and a black Ferrari 430.
  12. This fall, Supergirl meets President of the United States, Lynda Carter. *faints*
  13. Not to be a double downer, but I lost my goddaughter over the weekend, a six-year old mini red dachshund. She was tossed down the stairs by a two-year old human, compressing her spine and subsequently euthanized late Saturday. If I stop crying it will be sometime in 2017.
  14. I wouldn't mind. She could break me, in half or in thirds, we'd still have fun carbo-loading on spaghetti and meatballs and whatever they drink in Holland.
  15. Team sports are hard. Deep down, individuals among us wish they could compete with, and compliment others on a team level. On the other hand, watching Olympic track and field, this individual would like to compete with Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands on every level.
  16. Never threw away a blu-ray before, not even Children of Men or Snowpiercer. Tropic Thunder is at the bottom of the recycling bin, forgotten and unloved.
  17. Geology, man. I would give anything to watch the continents drift.
  18. To borrow a third-person turn of phrase, we look terrible in slim jeans. Skinny jeans are a nightmare of proportion on our less-than-6', less-than-170lb frame. Upper body is much better ... grip strength is high percentile, which helps us not to cry in our sleep every night. Did you know that in Brazil, they don't distinguish between men's and women's shoe sizes, nor shame you for buying a pair of WW Havaianas, arriving Tuesday. I know I have a problem, but if this is wrong, I don't want to be right.
  19. Treat her with compliments, kindness, and respect, see what happens.
  20. I've noticed how, now that my hair is longer than Point Break Patrick Swayze, people react totally differently. Instead of mild bemusement or instant disinterest, females stop and gaze for close to two seconds ... even random dudes at the grocery store strike up conversation about the type of beer in my cart. Plus I get carded for everything, which is the most satisfying. Today I went to the comic shop and the grocery store. Wonder Woman #4 and Stone Brewing Delicious IPA are both on the table.
  21. I know, but technically you're not dead until you're buried. srsly, Super G in UHD, omfg. Melissa Benoist does Christopher Reeve as well as he did.
  22. Derrick Henry looks like he has places he is gonna go.
  23. Have I skipped untold retellings or did I miss the critics retreat where they describe a female Jedi scavenger scum and a traitorous Stormtrooper's crisis of conscience as being utterly generic and formulaic? Not arguing, I'm just getting on in years and don't understand.
  24. Paradox RPG survey. Pretty sure I got a perfect score. https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/take-our-rpg-survey.962385/
  25. 'All is as the Force wills it' ... I think that's what he said. Could be a good foil for what I expect is Jyn's attitude. Although, if the Force has a will, Porkins would like a word.
