  1. I think its the "I tried to load it three times, and it's giving me issues on the first day. I didn't bother to check with tech support, and attempt to be patient and look for help. I just want a refund." entitled attitude that people are getting upset over. Everyone has a moment in their life where they have just had it with something and just want out, it happens. It's whatever. Software being software though, and this is a massive game, it's freaking huge. There will be issues.
  2. Depends on what you want to do with your character. Are you asking about Front line Priests? Or back line Wizards? A back line and protected wizard might do well unarmored to get more attacks/spells off faster. A front line melee priest however, will do well with the heaviest armor you can find and a shield to keep him safe.
  3. I am trying one out as my main PC. I am running a combo of M: 14, C: 12, D: 12, P: 6, I: 20, R: 14. This gives me a slight boost to Health and Fort and Attack Speed and Ref, slightly better boost to Damage, Healing, Concentration, Will and Deflection. The Perception dump cancel's out the Deflection gained, and makes my Interrupts terrible, but I'm not interested in that. My main focus is truly extended Chants with a larger radius. Allowing my PC to sit in the middle of my party chanting and granting auras to the rest of the party. My passive Endurance restore does more, although it's scaling is terrible. My chants last for 6 seconds instead of 4, meaning when I start chanting 1, and then start the 2nd, the first chant continues up to the end of me chanting the first. This is key. It allows me to do a 1, 2 combo endlessly where once round 2 is started, I have both chant effects constantly up. I've no clue if this is a *good* build, I only just started playing, but lol. I ended up in a fight with a bunch of bandits earlier and my weapon ended up being ineffective. I literally killed them solely with COME, COME SOFT WINDS OF DEATH damage combined with THE THUNDER ROLLED LIKE WAVES ON BLACK SEAS for DPS. I was running Dull the Edge, Blunt the Point with Ancient Memory passive. Taking between no and 2 damage per strike, just essentially siphoning their life away slowly for 3 rounds, then shoving them backwards for a spike of damage. Slowly healing as they came at me. My weapon literally had no effect against them, at all. So this is a sustain build, not damage, right now. Not sure how it will turn out, but worst case scenario, I can protect my allies from axes, swords, spears, arrows and polearms while slowly healing my allies and injuring the enemy. Better chants and invocations will give me more options down the road.
  4. I am enjoying it. I lost several hours without realizing it, which bodes well for my enjoyment, but not well for other aspects in my life. I enjoyed it enough to buy a copy for a friend, so Obsidian got my money twice. Lol. It's a beautiful game and as a DM and PnP gamer, the RPG system they threw together is awfully similar to one I was building on the side the past two years in a number of ways. It's both inspiring in its differences and shocking in its similarities to what I had started. Very interesting to see that.
  5. Yeah, noticing that. I have Eder and Aloth, and hired myself a monk to go with my Chanter I created. I would not build a fighter or a wizard in this fashion.
  6. From what I am reading, it depends entirely upon what you want your monk to do. Do you want to be a striker, or a tank? If you want to be a striker, go Might>Dex>Con in that order. Granting you high damage, healing, health and endurance scaling, Fortitude, Reflex, attack speed boost to crank out more dmg faster. The others, you need to sit down and consider, what else do you want? Do you want longer duration self buffs, there's a few the monk gets. Intelligence if so. If not, Resolve is good for Defense, and Perception good to interrupt the enemy. Ideally, you want to get hit, but not to take a ton of damage. You also want to just pummel the enemy with as much damage as fast as you can. As you won't be stacking Deflection to avoid being hit. You want to get hit, and then make the enemy explode. I think perhaps the issue you are running into is not utilizing Stealth properly, and not having the monk be a middle of the group character, behind your tank line. If you aren't building your monk to be a tank, they should enter *after* the Fighter/Barbarian/Paladin do, allowing the tanks to draw aggression. Then the monk charges in and kills the target.
  7. Normal, I'm drinking, and answering the questions of my players for character creation for a high level Pathfinder game, switching between PoE and my secondary monitor. Distractions and alcohol and not being familiar with the game, I want some leniency my first trip through. >.<
  8. My space pig trots around after my group as we sneak around. Worst case scenario, Space Bacon.
  9. Int affects the AOE and Duration of your abilities/spells. Might affects Damage/Healing. So if you are doing an evocation wizard or healer priest, you want Might. If you are throwing out large AOE buffs, you want Int. Ideally, you want both for wizards.
  10. Yeah, makes sense. Idle curiosity made me wonder. I've passed that with purchasing a Heroic copy of the game for my friend last night on steam but aye. Printing off 77k names would require a book on its own. Lol.
  11. This isn't an "omg big deal" thing, just wondering. What were the qualifications for Obsidian picking the folks listed in that massive list of people in the back of the book? I was under the assumption it involved people who partook in the fundraising event 2.5 years ago, and that by spending $66 I would be on this listing. I didn't find myself, which you know, is fine. I purchased a game with goodies, and received them. Just you know, curious if I failed to meet a qualification, like a cut off point, or if there was an error made?
  12. no katanas in PoE So wait, I will either have the choice of picking up the pre-made companion/characters in game without paying, or purchasing the ones I can create myself as if they were gear in a store? That's kind of a bummer. I am torn now on whether I want to run through with the pre-made ones or not first.
  13. I buy these cheap keyboards every few months for 10 bucks and will most likely need a new one by Saturday. Yeah, I have an ergonomic wireless one with hot keys and and $90 gaming mouse. I'll need to break out the microfiber cloths, q-tips and rubbing alcohol on Monday to clean everything. It's been a while, good to keep up on that stuff.
  14. All these mentioning of wings. I'm going to end up all night making homemade hot wing sauce and slow broiling wings tomorrow until crispy and slathering them in a nice vinegar/butter/cayenne/garlic sauce. >.< My poor keyboard.
  15. Pretty sure cranking Perception/Resolve will boost your Deflection, add in magic items and a Shield, and you would boost your Deflection. Which allows you to block attacks from ever hitting you. Hence, avoiding some attacks entirely. However, just a guess, haven't played this game yet.
  16. Now I'm going to have to make some homemade buffalo wing sauce and slow broil some wings. *shakes fist* Good thing I can roll my chair to the stove to stir the pot during pauses. If I managed to remember to get some cayenne pepper and vinegar....
  17. Nah, need to sell your potions, gear, and body to stockpile gold. Run through dungeons naked and sell all the loot. Never know when your 40 million savings will be needed. Best run the game and just stockpile as much cash as you can. For the uber item right before the last boss fight. *nod*
  18. Steam doesn't typically do midnight releases. If anything went wrong on Steam we wouldn't be able to get it fixed for close to eight hours. Voice of reason and logic prevails. Start the game live when both Steam which is hosting the game, and Obsidian, which developed the game, will be in their offices, ready to handle any issues that come up. Rather than needing to staff someone overnight in an empty office. Somewhere, in a galaxy far far away, there are people on a message board who don't freak out over release times due to ignorance and childishness. I'd like to request a space ship to journey and find these advanced beings.
  19. Ah, Mac, yeah, I don't do Mac, so I am ignorant of that. Being I don't do graphic art design, there's no reason for me to bother with a Mac and pay more for something that performs worse with gaming on my gaming rig.
  20. Nah, they are talking a Dual Core i3 2.5 ghz processor, 4 gigs of RAM, 1 gig Video card. Which, one can get off Newegg for about $250 for the three nowadays. Not an i5. Big difference.
  21. Well I hope it runs for you. I'm no specialist on this stuff. I built my own system, but, had to take it to a shop to get it to run right. >.< So had help. It's looking like the developers setup this game to be able to run on a system that has parts which were designed and released about 6-8 years ago. Folks who haven't upgraded their computers in the last 6 years will possibly have issues I imagine.
