Capitalism threatens democracy; or, why inequality is a problem
redneckdevil replied to Ben No.3's topic in Way Off-Topic
So if Sharp is wrong, what type of govt is there to enforce the equality of wealth and to keep it going? Who's gonna enforce and regulate when someone rises above everyone's station thru either hardwork and/or ideas and bring them back down to equality of wealth? "Whoever told you life was fair? Look around everywhere, the cruelty of nature is displayed". -
If he treats the LGBT as regular citizens, I won't be mad and I'll agree with it. If he treats them less or special treatment, then I'll be outraged. Right now he's cleaning house, I'm gonna hold judgement until I see what he actually does.

Bypass money and gold and bring back bartering. -
Am I an evil human being that I'm laughing as I see these videos of protestors getting hit by cars in the middle of the highway at NIGHT? There has to be a level where stupidity is above how messed up a situation is to become funny, I think I found it sadly.

Everyone is free to exercise their own religion and culture, as long as they behave by the laws set. That's how freedom in a republic should work. What you are saying is is that if there's a conflict of differences of culture (not the whole culture mind you, a part of the culture) that doesn't conflict with any laws, you are saying it is the country who should integrate to their culture on said issue, and not the immigrant to the culture of the land? That is more important? What culture of the land? Germany as it is now exists for not even three decades, and what culture we had before is, in recent years, quite crappy. Europe is just a melting point for dozens of cultures, what's bad about adding another one? The US, well immigration is the reason it exists. The only "real" Americans are either treated very poorly or killed.Since your not answering the very simple question, I should take it that you feel it is the land that the immigrants come TO that must change if there is a conflict of cultures?I'm not trying being snarky or judgmental, I was just curious. Essentially yes... I do not see culture connected to nations or nationality in any sense but a historic one... a conflict of cultures? Isn't a free market all about competition? Why not apply that to art? The Quran is quite well written and certainly nice to look at.Thank you for your answer. I was thinking on the subject of immigration and I only know from my view point. I tried to find a K.I.S.S. type question to help understand the differences in core opinion/line of thinking on the subject. I agree with you on religion. Imho religion is a set of values and standards and beliefs that ONLY apply to one self if they chose to follow said religion. If you chose to follow said religion, that does not mean that someone who doesn't has to fall in line with what it brings and convert or else they enemies/infidels. It should not impact anyone else, only your self. While I disagree with you on your answer, I'm not looking to change that answer u gave. Your free to think that is best just like I am free to think against it. BUT moreso just trying to find reasons why places that are for and against immigration and the huge effects of those decisions without resorting to name calling such as racists and idiots etc.

we have. numerous times. given the tone o' the thread, this is not the place for us to discuss our feelings regarding obama's gutting of nasa. in the spirit o' the thread, we will observe how obama deserves credit for killing the absolute asinine don't ask, don't tell policy o' the us military. I appreciate the historical analysis of Trump going forward, it helps to ameliorate the angst for some But I see the Trump presidency as unique .....and something we are living through. Im not saying it will be terrible or ignominious but we just don't know what he will do around some global realities or how his new advisors will impact change I'll be honest, I think how the media operates is more important and will have a bigger immediate and long fetching result. I'm not saying Trump's actions and decisions will not have as much, but he has checks and balances and also the media to influence public s opinion on his actions and decisions.......whereas what do we have with the media? Trump at least has to punch thru legislation to get change whereas the media does not. The media actions right now if kept goingcoyld warrant limits and limitations to regulate it and take away the freedom of "free press". Imagine what would happen for years to come if free press was regulated by the govt in what and how it could present news? That scares me more than anything trump could push thru (barring nuclear war and etc) because our country is set up that laws and such can be changed to meet the demands of the people. But to regulate and limit something because it got outta hand.....that takes much longer to undo. -

Here's the thing, the Arabian culture was ahead of us for centuries. I don't see anything wrong with importing that... heck, as long as people live according to our laws, they can follow whatever culture they want. Religion is different. We've come a long way, and they'll need to adapt the our secular lifestyle. I am not about excluding specifically Islam, I am about excluding religion as a whole, making it a private decision. Society as a whole needs to be secular. It is undeniable that religion has done a lot of good, but we live in a time where doing good is not dependent on religion anymore. However, the religions are still very easy to abuse for extremism... after all, almost all religions proclaim the killing of some groups. So, the following needs to be done: 1. Children can not belong to a religion through their parents. They must have reached a certain age, maybe 15, before they can officially enter a religious group. The children should choose their religion, not their parents. 2. Religion is a private matter; religious imagery or clothing has nothing to do in public institutions such as schools or parliament and are therefore to be banned from it. 3. In school, children are to be given a overview over all religions, as well as an introduction into humanism, before they reach 15 due to 1. While religion does have huge roots in a lot of cultures, the practice of said religion is seperate. What I'm talking about is when 2 cultures collide and it directly conflicts and it's something that doesn't conflict with laws, is it more important to integrate and have them change into ur culture or is it more important for them to keep their culture (their identity) and it is ur culture that has to change/integrate to fit theirs? These are immigrants in your country to clarify.

I didn't give that much but don't regret it at all I didn't even really like crpgs and really it was the quality of fonv that I pledged at all.

everything they are doing now, is being remembered. I'm actually excited to see what's gonna happen when the opposite party gets elected down the road and I wanna see the biblical **** storm of "one upping" the same stuff that they are doing now. Sigh, these bitches (I hate to use the term for people as that shows disrespect towards humans) seem to forget that the whole reason of "peaceful transition" was because once it starts, it's REALLY hard to stop it from rolling on. The end is near! The end is near!!

So far the only good romances I have seen in a game was the ones hands off to the player or was baked into the main story. Hell I'd dare say the romance in PoE was actually done very well between 2 important people.

I have a question for the ProEU, is integration of the immigrants into that lands culture important or is it more important to integrate the land with the immigrants culture?

Farewell Barack Obama (If you can't say something nice...)
redneckdevil replied to Guard Dog's topic in Way Off-Topic
It's a bit of a stretch to credit him for this. He was a pretty vocal opponent of same sex marriage all the up until the tide of public opinion could not be ignored. Jumping on the bandwagon long after it got rolling does not strike me as particularly virtuous. Now the US Solicitor General did argue on behalf of the Plaintiffs in Obgerfell so there is that. But the real credit here goes to the five justices who listened to the Equal Protection argument.. It happened during his presidency so to be fair, I will chalk it up to him just like if good/bad things happened during someone else's turn I'd blame/cheer them. I do understand it WASNT him personally, but dammit i tried to say something good about him and I had to settle with something that happened during his term instead lol. -

If the games from windows for pc were all cross platform to the Xbox 1, then that's the only way I would even think about getting a game off the windows store.

I can't really say. South Park SoT and the shadowruns games were fine at 15-30 hours because they were very well done and not padded. Usually a much greater chance of finishing them. Morrowind/FONV/etc type RPGs are great for the hundreds of hours u can sink into them because usually the exploration is just as important as the story. Padded is fine because usually the padded material IS the exploration. Only drawback is a lot less chance of finishing because of length and restart itis.

The patriot act, and it's funny that it got replaced with the "freedom" act

Well I dunno which thread to put this in so here good enough for me. So what do y'all think about about Obama bypassing the 4th amendment and letting the NSA share its information with several agencies (FBI, DEA, DHS to name a few) WITHOUT warrants, court orders, or congressional hearings? So is the 4th amendment basically gone now? How is he able to do so?

****. I'm so glad I got to take my kids to The circus a few years back when they were young but not to young to not pay attention. They had a blast and were very entertained. Me and the woman was also very entertained as well. It was a great show. Sadly a very short time afterwards one of the people fell and died. This is sad news in a way. Great memories but really it's like the fair, overpriced and not really an interest in them anymore. One of the many drawbacks of the transition of the modern age into the digital age

I always thought the main reasons we had the second amendment because of the first admendment and to overthrow our govt....but mainly if u give people the freedom to say wtf they want, they gonna need some protection lol.
