Romance
redneckdevil replied to Skyleaf's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Obsidian hasn't ever been against "all" romances, hell pillars 1 had a good love/romance story between "spoilers" and the bbeg. I think they do decent romances between npcs and that's because it's limited to just them. TBH I think the main reason is that if they did, they would HAVE to go the bioware route or have a massive sjw backlash. Hell look at what went down with a limerick from a backer in the first game. So if they do romance, imho it's a situation where they are ****ed either way in how they did it. They don't do romance, they aren't ****ed in that area. -
When Piers Morgan is the voice of reason....
redneckdevil replied to Valsuelm's topic in Way Off-Topic
Spike* not rate. Murder rate is getting a lot better and no where near as high as it used to be but the increase that year has been at the highest. TBH I find the spike is important but only if it continues to go up, otherwise it's forgettable next year if we still continuing to doing a helluva lot better than we have been. -
I fully agree the media should be an adversary of the government when it does wrong, the media should be all over it. The problem is with media they get extra previleges for that free speech, because they are supposed to tell the truth. Free speech doesn't cover lying. The recklessness comes from instead of focusing on the truth without biasness, media is now a "chose ur own adventure" (words from a dude at CNN) in which u hear/find out about events but how it happens depends on which site u go to. U want news of what happened but in a good light of such and such, u go here and u can find out all about what happened and how it was a great thing. U want news of what happened but in a bad light of such and such, u go here and u can find out all about what happened and how terrible and horrendous it was. Of the same event. Twisting the truth to push a narrative. It's not getting to outright lying (if u believe that) but the embellishing and the knowingly absence is skirting the edge pretty damn close. Obama stated that there is a problem with information with the media and that something should be changed with them. That was someone they loved, now they going bigger and badder on Trump. Problem is they doing when he is doing something horrible or controversial but also they doing it the damn man sneezes, there's something bad that went on.

But Trump constantly insults the media and makes it personal, naturally that is going to increase the whole " us VS them " view some in the media feel A free media is a cornerstone of freedom of speech, when you call the media " the opposition " or " fake news " for many people you are actually attacking the principle of free speech So Trump plays a big part in this negative perspective the media have towards him Media fired first and hasn't stopped. Why place blame on him when he is firing back? Media has been firing since the election.Unfortuantly the media has shown that it hasn't learned its lesson and from the get go Trump has made it clear his personality, those 2 prideful bastards will keep going on until one is dead. Media can lay off the blantant pushing of their view that they want u to believe is true. Trump can stop being so triggered and quit giving them a lot of ammo. Does it not concern you that any president is this openly hostile to the media which as I mentioned are an extension to the principle of free speech? Ive said before Trump was even elected that I'm concerned with the media's antics and if continued I'm worried about them losing rights because of their own reckless biased actions. Trump's hostility towards the press I see as cause and effect. Freedom of speech is VERY important BUT if the media continues this way (akin to someone who has a gun and starts brandishing it in a reckless fashion and is taking shots in the air around civilians) I very well do see restrictions being placed on THE media because of their own actions. Here in America we strongly believe in the 2nd amendment, but because of recklessness and inoppribriate behavior, we have seen restrictions start on it. The media right now is on the verge of having that placed upon them. So it's the media I'm more worried about because of biasedness and "sensationalist" (view point more important than what actually happens) is giving govt and the population reason to start tightening up and start restricting them. I don't want that but at the same time, they are shooting themselves in the foot (fox, CNN, msm, etc) and once they cross that line (Trump may very well be that line), unfortuantly there's no going back. So yes I'm worried about Trump but in a way that he is the effect and the media is the cause. Look at how the media was with Obama, one side he could do no wrong when he messed up and one side had him painted as doing wrong when he had done good or nothing at all. Tldr-the media needs to shape up or else since they can't handle the free speech responsibly for their position, will find it lost and while we may all mourn, ultimately it will be because of their own undoing. Of course imho.

Yes but its illegal to not wear a headscarf according to the article? The Swedish government surely cant break Iranian law My bad, Iran it is illegal. Kinda weird that a pronounced feminist government would go there and be subjected to that law instead of asking to meet elsewhere. Doesn't show a good vibe of how strong the feminist part is for media. TBH don't really care, It's nice to see a controversial topic and not get blown outta the water. Here something of this nature would cause the media to have a heart attack

I actually disagree, we don't need a new liberal party. We need both party's to put on their big boy pants and start working together and agree to disagree. Stop seeing each other as enemies because they have a difference in opinion and come to a compromise. We need a good balance of both parties, not an all or nothing of each.

Is this a moment of damned if u do and damnedbif u don't?Is this about prices or is it about a availability in certain countries (censorship comes to mind of the last one while different currencies for the other) Well the equivalent for our US friends, would be, if Valve would decide to set price on Steam e.g. Call of Duty in California at 60USD and in Ohio at 70USD. And would block all Ohio inhabitants to purchase the game in California. The same is happening all the time in Europe, and European Commision has decided some time ago, that they would want to enfore one digital market with same prices across all EU countries. This Valve investigation is in accordance to this goal. I thought the whole region lock was because of censorship laws in certain countries though? So everyone in the EU uses the euro and no other currency? For example let's use Germany and the South Park stick of truth. In Germany due to their censorship laws, they can only sell a certain censored game in Germany but in Spain they can sell the reg game. Some one Germany could not buy the Spanish game because since steam sold them a copy that goes against their laws, steam would be fined. So if each country has different censorship laws, then that's on the EU fault for not having the same product go to everyone. The prices I don't get why and I do believe that needs to change but I don't know the reason why. They may have a good reason but most likely they don't. I am interested as well in what happens. **** the EU if they mess up my steam though, **** them in the ass.

Here's something that I think is missing from a lot of reports, what countries exactly did the people who have attacked America and American institutes go and travel and be influenced/trained/indoctrinated/supplied visit?

who woulda thought that the image of gun loving gun toting citizens in a country that holds the 2nd amendment just as highly (if not more so with quite a few people than the 1st) would have a psychological effect on people outside our country lol.

Pros and cons of California. If California seceded from America, I'd imagine they'd have a very hard time. First off, the jobs there are American jobs and a lot of the tech would be considered American. Very good possibility they'd have to start from scratch or else everything they are currently working on would result in a massive landslide of being sued. Then from scratch, they'd have to find their roads, wouldn't have access to snap and all those goodies, the tolls going INTO California and such. TBH I don't think they would have it as good as they think they would. Course could be wrong as I have been many of times before.

Is it though? Mexico is our 3rd biggest trading partner and they are in the hole of 60 billion towards us....by those numbers, it sounds like we are better to not trade towards them if we are in the hole and trying to get out. What's the point of trading if the other one is paying and instead putting it on a tab. I also realize the irony since we are trillions in the whole with china. Maybe it's best of China did the same towards us. Mexico pays what they owe and USA pays what we owe to china and we stop borrowing. If u ain't got the money then don't spend. That goes towards us as well.

While I don't agree with it, I do think they have the right for these protests. Granted I think these protests are just a huge hissy fit and a way to throw a tantrum BUT hell everyone needs to vent. i don't actually believe these protests were actually designed to DO something other than vent, otherwise sadly either the participants aren't very bright in protesting AND/OR the media on ALL sides just chose to focus in on all the circus acts of venting. I mean really, time and a place. I'd dare say that the scientist march would get more accomplished for their cause than the women's march for the simple fact of WHO they are mad about for not winning....seriously lol, a wife of a rapist. The hypocrisy has been strong on all sides lol, myself included.

what Obama tried to do was take away the states right to chose to do or not something they had the right to decide. Sanctuary cities on the other hand is something a state does not have power to have and it goes against Federal law.Obama tried to force states to do things they had the right to chose to do. Trump is trying to force states to stop doing something they do NOT have the right to do. States dont have right to receive degrees of Federal funding and Trump has a right to just take it away? Did you read the link I posted? What you saying is not what New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says " he said in a statement that Trump lacked the authority to take away funding from cities and states " There is a whole section underneath this in the article that clarifies this that I cant paste , please read the link below so you are familiar with the point. https://twitter.com/AGSchneiderman/status/824362523529007104/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Which is false. Good example, in the 60s the government pulled and refused funding to cities that did allow segregation in schools. Here in my home state of NC, the govt can legally if they chose to pull funding from our education because of the issue of transgender bathrooms. Also we have to address the elephant in the room. The govt CAN pull funding for sanctuary cities BUT u have to realize that states come up and have their own funding. States can do their own thing against federal law. Federal law is the overlapping laws of the land whereas states have the right within their own rights to chose to obey or disobey a federal law by making one of their own. states can make laws in some areas superseding federal such as legalizing weed and gay marriage but federal can make laws superseding state laws such as immigration and war and such. So to keep a balance and cooperation between federal and states is funding. Illegal Immigration is a federal level which states have to bow down to. Cutting funding is more of a quick jab to show u are ready to fight and if u do fight, ur resources are gonna be limited.

Ow yes they keep getting better but returns is a tricky one. It's a great game IF u play it first before the others, otherwise dragonfall and Hong Kong just kept improving without going backwards (debateable I know for Hong Kong with the matrix but I liked it) and if u play returns after those it doesn't seem all that great because HK and DF are the same game as SR but just with a lot of improvements.

So basically these centers set up around the world wouldn't lose a cent that's being sent to them.....if they stopped doing abortions. With the chart showing abortions at one of the very least things that are done, it doesn't really effect as many people if u just stopped doing that service right? Do abortions for the very few. u lose ALL funding. Don't do abortions on the few, u don't lose any money. Tough times, I really don't see this as such a big deal.

I'll be honest, I didn't read the link. I've stopped clicking CNN stuff so i don't help them with amount of clicks something gets. What I will say is that I agree with ur sentiment, one of the biggest problems we had in obama and during the election was having is the "alternate facts" shoved as "actual facts". The way I could see Trump actually succeeding better is to actually use "actual facts" instead of alternate facts. It would be easier to show if anything being manipulated and even give him an extra "I don't give a **** if u get offended" vibe that a lot of people like and on top of that would make the media look even worse if they continued on. Accept ur flaws and defeats (ur in office so **** them) and be proud of ur achievements that ARE achievements. Him and his people being honest and straight forward will indeed continue to piss people off BUT just maybe just maybe, this could be a way to reign in and force the media to use more blunt and honest tactics. Because who would want evidence that Trump was more "honorable" than they are? Lol

So we are outta the TTP AND there's no penalty for not doing Obamacare? ****, 3 days in and that's mainly what all I wanted done. Ummm now what lol, I guess I can sit back and enjoy the show on how he acts and how the media will react. Will the no penalty be retroactive for 2016?
