  1. ~ In This Together ~ OST from Our Planet by Ellie Goulding & Steven Price
  2. Thanks for sharing Indira! I'm excited and laughing/giggling/smiling like a stupid. Yes, despite my concerns, every time I hear some news about BG3 my excitement grows. I am happy to read about Astarion, because I'm very interested in him. I hope him killing off party members (for good?) is not entirely based on dice rolls alone. Looking forward to the Reddit AMA!
  3. Yeah, I am starting to see that. I am just not used to this, that's all. Since I have never played a game by Larian. But I see what you are saying. I will have the freedom to fill in the concrete, specific words of my character and even his voice by myself. Maybe that's a thought I can even learn to appreciate. I will try to stay open minded. But in the end I may not be able to get into it, and that would be okay, too. Different tastes for different folks. I imagine it would be easier for me in a 2D game rather than a 3D game with close-up conversations.
  4. *I decided to post a link to an article that pointed out the problems with the dialogue system in Baldur's Gate 3. - What would the Obsidian forum members think about it?* https://screenrant.com/baldur-gate-3-dialogue-past-tense-breaks-immersion/
  5. I grew up with Baldur's Gate and the Infinity Engine games. And I love them so much. I have never played a game from Larian, not even heard of them before. Now, after watching the gameplay video from Larian of Baldur's Gate 3 I can't help but feel... I feel excited, actually. More than anything I am so looking forward to the opportunity to go back to the Forgotten Realms, and have another adventure at the Sword Coast and in Baldur's Gate. I feel that I am supposed to hate Baldur's Gate 3 and Larian. But I can't based on that gameplay demo alone. It's far too early to tell for me. There are some things I am sceptical about, yes. 1.) I have never played an RPG with TB. But for that very reason I cannot condemn that. I do not know what it will feel like. I only know turn based from the Heroes of Might and Magic games which is an entirely different genre altogether. So it's something new for me. And I will stay open minded about it and try it out in BG3. 2.) The dialogue system. That is my biggest concern at the moment. That is so unusual for me. The dialogue is held in 1st person, indirect speech, past tense. I Imagine I might eventually adapt and get used to it. But I fear that this may be a huge immersion breaker for me. Also I do not like silent protagonists (although I understand that voicing all possible combinations of lines for the protagonist is too expensive). I am not fond of the "3" in the title either. But I put much less importance on it. No matter how you call this game, it will let me revisit Baldur's Gate! And so far I have no reason to believe that Baldur's Gate 3 will spoil my fond memories of BG1 and 2 in any way or take them away from me. I'm already looking forward to play as Astarion, the vampire spawn.
  6. Yo, I'm back! Spread the word 😆

I was away for a long time for personal reasons. I haven't even played Deadfire yet!
I am sorry to read it didn't sell well.

Good to see old familiar faces here, your blue Orlan face among them 😉
I hope our Black Isle Bastards were well received!

    1. Boeroer

      Boeroer

Hi Fluffle! Wait: you did all the work with the BIBs and then you didn't even play Deadfire? What a shame! Do it! :)

Our BIB weapon was well received at least. The BIBs themselves play a rather small role and our efforts can easily be missed if you don't know what to look for. But that's ok. Funny that the more expensive part of our forum collaboration gets rather unnoticed while the cheaper one (the weapon) is quite popular. It is a very good weapon so no surprise I guess.

By the way I think I now know who the secret donor was. ;)

  7. I am back!

After taking a long break for personal reasons I've had my account reactivated!

  8. That'd mean I could never reach those items without opening my CE box, which... is never going to happen O______o

  15. Aww So it will get another nerf. I know, I know, it's a bug, it should be fixed. Fluffle sad though
  16. It has been ages since I last played a Ubisoft game (not counting HoMM3 HD). So that wouldn't be any problem for me anyway. Even if they copy+pasted content from their other games, it would be new to me. But the thing about Assassin's Creed Odyssey is, that they are in fact trying to change the series. They are changing the genre of the series to RPG. So it's not "same old, same old". Certainly not for AC Odyssey within the game series Assassins Creed. This one is going to be very different from its predecessors. Of course, now fans are outraged that this isn't a "true" Assassin's Creed game anymore...
  17. Same here! How dare they release content for free! I want to pay for it!
  18. 150 guys on EACH side of the battle That makes 300
  19. Sea Shanties? Check! Sea Battles? Check! An open world with lots of islands to explore? Check. Deadfire? No... Assassin's Creed: Odyssey! And look at those Sea Battles! That's the way to do it. If you'd excuse me now, I have a train to catch.
  20. See, I find this very interesting. How a game that makes some radical changes within its game series suddenly attracts completely new gamers. I don't know any of the Assassin's Creed games but I've read that this new one is supposedly very different from the previous games. It even seems that there are some fans of the series who don't consider this game a "true" Assassin's Creed game. I don't know what that means, lol. But here we are. Suddenly our interest has been piqued in a game that is part of a series that is over 10 years old... Oh and.... uhm... if anyone is interested in the difference between "to peak", "to peek" and "to pique"... Another way to distinguish peak and peek:
  21. I wouldn't say DA:I sucked (for me anyway). It had many problems and weaknesses, true. I still found myself enjoying it though. But anyway, what I would be hoping for is that Assassin's Creed Odyssey would be some kind of improved DA:I (just as already mentioned without the companions). So I don't hope that it will be just like DA:I, but instead an improved and polished version of it. And, damn, the more videos I watch about Assassin's Creed Odyssey the more hyped I get. It's very unusual for me to get hyped for a game of a video game series that I don't know. Normally I stick to my video game series, like the Infinity Engine games, or Dragon Age and Mass Effect. And I follow them loyally throughout the years (though I didn't follow Mass Effect into Andromeda). Even when Pillars of Eternity came about, for me, it was just a continuation of the Infinity Engine games. But Assassin's Creed is something new. Something unknown. A stranger. A wild card. I guess, that's partly also where some of my excitements comes from.
  22. What is Vromance? I can only find this about Vromance. I don't know Titan Quest. From the games I have played, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey seems to resemble Dragon Age Inquisition most. Dragon Age Inquisition had also very beautiful areas. Sadly, most of them were almost empty (with the notable exception of the Hinterlands). And the side quests were rather bland... One major difference seems to be that there are no companions in Assassin's Creed? I could live with that though. I do like companions, but since I have played so many games with companions it will be interesting and new for me to play alone with just the main character.
  23. What also caught my attention is Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. I have never played an Assassin's Creed game. But from what I have heard this game is going to be very different anyway from the predecessors in that it is going to be an actual RPG. I also watched a few gameplay videos and I liked them a lot. Not to mention the fact that the game is going to include... ROMANCES Oh boy... And it looks really beautiful. Only problem I might have is my graphic card which is about 8 years old...
