The Official Romance Thread
PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Blarghagh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)EDIT: totally misread that. Need some tea. I don't care about romances, but the fanatical obsession of some of the promancers is kinda disturbing. The idea that giving the PC the ability to romance some NPC automatically creates more depth has to come from someone who has never played an Obsidian game(well, a good one at any rate). Anyways, the main reason PoE should not have PC+NPC romance is because Obsidian does not feel they could do them well with the resources available. Wanting a dev to put in a feature they are convinced they could not do well is pretty damn stupid.

Party optional?
PK htiw klaw eriF replied to EdwardBishop's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)You could solo BG. PoE will give you the ability to play without a party, but I don't think it will be possible to beat the game without being well acquainted with the ruleset and/or using extensive meta game knowledge on higher difficulties or using the special modes.

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Blarghagh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I wonder if Lephys or Hiro will ever crack and strangle the other?- The important first 2 hours
PK htiw klaw eriF replied to bronzepoem's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I wish some girls would let me romance them for the first two hours after I meet them. Not all though, because I have some standards.- The important first 2 hours
PK htiw klaw eriF replied to bronzepoem's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I agree. The first 2 hours of Arcanum are pretty awful, which along with the terrible gameplay is why I can't stand playing it. I hope PoE does better.- The Funny Things Thread.

I've got some foil you can make one out of, but there is barbecue sauce and small remnants of brisket on it.- Dragon Age: Inquisition
I doubt that PoE will sell a million, but a couple hundred thousand is pretty reasonable, especially if we(backers) give it plenty of good word of mouth. I would wager that DAI was pushed forward to be newer during the holiday shopping, where more console copies will probably be sold. Don't really care myself, as I'm more likely to pick up a UA or wait until it is cheap and patched before purchase.- The Official Romance Thread

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Blarghagh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Except on hot dogs. Mustard all the way! Why anyone would defile a hotdog with ketchup is beyond me.- Difficulty level
PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Macrae's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)You mean this kind of trap? Sanity loss is no laughing matter. More seriously, traps whose main function is to debilitate rather than kill outright. In a PnP group(Pathfinder) I've been gming, I used traps that would stun the party and allow crossbowmen to fire bolts into them. I've found these types of traps to be more effective towards any class that isn't a Monk or Paladin.- Avcon Avellone Q&A

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Monte Carlo's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'll give it a while myself. Baldur's Gate dragged for me in the beginning, but being level 1 really sucked in that game.- The Official Romance Thread
PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Blarghagh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)That Solaufein mod for BG2 seems to have quite a following. How much of it is because of romance and how much is due to having a NPC fighter/mage is unknown, but it seems to get a lot of attention. - The Official Romance Thread
