unpopular gaming opinions - here's mine, share yours
PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Melusina's topic in Computer and Console
Wind Waker was on Gamecube, which I suppose makes the point stand more. Anyways since you brought up Zelda, BotW and TotK are both really good but their dungeons and bosses are absolutely weaker compared to the rest of the series. I should remember exploring a mecha-camel that shoots lightning but it's just not as memorable as the yeti mansion or the shadow temple. -

In general when an article says "law enforcement clashed with protestors", you can safely assume that law enforcement initiated and escalated most of the "clashing". No. I looked at the lyrics and it seems to be what TV preachers and Republican politicians have been like for decades. -

No, it's worse. Both. It's not popular generally and is mostly driven locally by handfuls of activists and groups with ties to various dark money slush funds, media figures, and fascist gangs (like Proud Boys, Oathkeepers, etc). But despite being generally unpopular they wield outsized influence since appeasing these people is necessary to get ahead in one of the two major political parties, or these people are now in positions of power within said party. And it's going to get worse given how they feed into each other, constantly one-upping into banning more books and mandating more restrictions. In Texas we have just (or will) abolished the elections official in Harris county (Houston) because Republican donors blew millions and couldn't flip the county, we have a ridiculously corrupt attorney general whose wife will vote on whether to impeach him or not, and Greg Abbott is trying to pardon a murderer (and a pedophile who tried to groom teenagers) because Tucker Carlson told him to. That's not even touching the boilerplate anti-lgbt stuff, anti-abortion, crt panic, anti-worker, and crimewave that have swept through much of the republican states which are also ****ing insane and terrible. Florida is of course crazy and corrupt in many of the same ways as Texas, but what I find funniest is how they changed the law specifically to allow Rhonda Sanctimonious to run for president and stay on as governor. Dude isn't even a year into what he was elected to do and is already trying to jump ship. And of course it's all for naught because if Trump doesn't finish him off, Disney will. Has California done anything like that? I haven't seen it. The worst things I can think about California is that yalls rent is too damn high and the worst people from California come to Texas and make my rent too damn high. -

Years ago my truck got rear-ended at like 4 in the morning. It did some damage to the frame and because of that it would set off an anti-breakin thing that would require the keys to sit idle in the ignition for 5 or 10 minutes to reset. Very frustrating, especially in the hot and humid summer. Hopefully the car isn't damaged like that.

Keeping Company (2021) Whoever wrote this movie has either worked in sales or had a very bad experience with an insurance company. It bills itself as a horror comedy, but for me ended up in more of a satire akin to Don't Look Up but better. It's a solid B movie, not gonna wow anyone but a fun watch for 90 minutes. I tried. Our plane crashed (a big bug was ripping people's tongues out) so we have to walk. We'll probably get there in sixty days or so. -

I'll get the gang together, we'll save you. -
My neighbors have been listening to a lot of Lil Nas X recently, who I have recently learned is not a major artist, and honestly I'm here for it. I'd post a video but a lot of them are "explicit" and I don't want Greg Abbot to send the Freedom Police after me. Reported for Russian apologism. Naughty

It's very well done but I don't know if it will set off one of the many Bartimaeus Hate Thresholds and cause you to despise it and curse me with 10000 years of agony. Damning with faint praise. I mean it can't be worse than live action Pinocchio. I haven't seen the whole thing, but I've seen the scene where an orangutan sings "Be Like You" and all I could think about was how neither the big monkey or the kid seemed to move during the whole thing. Did not look particularly good and really unfavorably compares to the original. EDIT: Found em on YouTube, hopefully the mouse won't carpet bomb my apartment because of copyright. Ben Affleck has developed resting War Crime Survivor face recently. I'm not sure if something really bad happened with him or if in his (relatively) old age he doesn't give a **** anymore. -

Spree (2020) The guy from Stranger Things kills a bunch of people to make it as a streamer. That's pretty much it. Stitches (2012) An Irish movie about an evil clown who kills some teenagers. I guess the novelty is that the clown is just some guy here instead of a demon. Hereditary (2018) A disturbing nightmare about cults and other stuff. Probably one of the more component horror films I've seen in a while, but some parts did make me laugh because they're just funny out of context. Are your nieces holding you captive or something? -
Blame the makers of Kraken rum, they're the ones who think a Kraken attack on Illinois made sense. Since you mentioned sharks.......KRAKENADO. Not only does it tie in to an already existing trope of a tornado pelting people with aquatic monsters but Chicago is known for being windy so it fits. So we go a tornado, which the Kraken may or may not control, which will carry the Kraken around Illinois so it can terrorize everyone. Sounds like a perfect setup to me.
-
The Kraken will have learned to fly, will bring the water with it, or will be capable of manipulating spacetime to attack kielbasa eaters somehow. I don't know, I didn't make the bottle so it's not my responsibility to make the Kraken attack happen. But it needs to happen.
-
Look, I don't care where a Kaiju attacks so long as it does. The Kraken can go after Illinois, DC, or the small English town of West York****mesitershire and I will be equally satisfied.

Mi Familia Flores Reposado Cristalino Tequila. This is easily among the best tequilas I have had. Easily destroys most competitors in the price category. Very strong recommend. How disappointing.
