  1. https://www.pnj.com/story/news/crime/2023/04/06/rebekah-jones-son-arrested-in-florida-what-we-know-about-digital-threat-allegations/70088634007/ "A spokesperson for the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday morning that Jones' son had been arrested. SRSO spokeswoman Jillian Durkin said the Sheriff's Office had received reports of a threat from multiple students and that a felony warrant was issued following an investigation of the reports." I know the police are not a trustworthy source, but I see little reason to disbelieve their confirmation of arresting a 13 year old on felony charges. Given that Mrs. Jones has been a vocal critic who is currently suing Florida and the pattern of Desantis/Florida Republicans consistently being willing to use state power to crush their enemies, I would hazard to say that it is more likely this is an act of reprisal than a 13 year old being a genuine threat.
  2. Posting this meme on Snapchat is now grounds to get arrested in Florida. Seems concerning.
  3. Looks like several new archetypes and a few spells may be in the pipeline, with a good amount of association with the undead or shadows. Also an "android companion". Let's hope Owlcat's Commander Data isn't as bad as NuTrek's evil Brent Spiner. Looking at the archetypes and I think Shadowcaster and Weretouched will be top-tier, Ghost Rider and Reanimator are wildcards, Tortured Crusader and Tandem Executioner are downgrades. We'll just have to wait and see when/if they are implemented.
  4. For reasons I can't say without getting a visit from the feds.
  5. Lately The Onion is doing a lot of headline and picture only articles.
  6. All I see is "Server ip address could not be found". Now it's back. And interesting, pretty much everything here is designed to break within a decade to induce you into buying a new one.
  7. I didn't know that. Kinda crazy how these companies own so much shot you can't really be sure who owns what.
  8. And here I was hoping for more. Regardless, I highly reccomend these videos to anyone with even a passing interest in movies. It will make you appreciate a lot of things you may have overlooked and maybe check out something you normally wouldn't have. Unfortunate that it ended because seeing an analysis of some of the Soviet-era masters would have been delightful.
  9. Is this the thread where we organize a party to fight The Algorithm? If so, you have my sword. It's time to attack and dethrone God. If we're talking Youtube recs...I don't watch it that much. I do like Every Frame a Painting and David Lynch Theater, but the former stopped doing videos a long time ago and the latter stopped doing videos after Angelo Badalamenti died. InRange TV is okay I guess.
  10. THE ALGORITHM hasn't forgotten you though, and it will take vengeance upon you in retribution.
  11. Here in the states it's on Hulu (owned by Disney yet seperate from Disney+), so we can get the joy of giving Disney money twice. Now that's freedom baby.
  12. I finally finished Reservation Dogs s2 after getting sidetracked months ago. Between this and What We Do In The Shadows, Waititi's got two great series he's produced. Maybe more, because I've heard very good things about Our Flag Means Death but haven't seen it yet.
  13. I am convinced the algorithm is actually a cruel god that feeds off suffering.
  14. More than likely, but there is a possibility of Trump getting a perp walk, which would be astronomically hilarious.

  16. Nope (2022): Jordan Peele does Evangelion It's very good, great even. It has everything from a cgi monkey (and an explanation why you don't use real monekys) to Keke Palmer to an Angel to Steven Yeun playing a former child star playing a cowboy. I don't think it's the best film of 2022 nor the best Jordan Peele film, but it is much better than another esteemed horror director's third film released in 2022 starring the lead from his debut. Highly recommend.
  17. I think if the recent bank collapses have taught us anything, it's that there is no such thing as a libertarian in a bank run.
  18. Real talk, the biggest defense we have against mass right wing movements is that they're all grifters who can't help running scams on each other.
  19. you make good points Texas would send in the police to stop Disney from pushing there woke blm propaganda on poor innocent children Anyone being naughty deserves to be punished ? I think our current reality is adhering to dystopian fiction in the dumbest way possible in a way that feels very darkly funny. Banks are collapsing because 69 pixel monkey jpgs and internet funny money seemed like a great idea to galaxy brain financial types. The world's (previously) richest man torched enough money to solve world hunger and publicly humiliates himself daily because his wife left him. President demands people work for two more years while wearing a watch that costs more than the average person would make on a year. US client state goes mask off fascism because former PM can't let go of power. Canadian grifter convinces hundreds she is royalty and causes them to lose everything. All of this stuff and more would be absurdist moments in films from a decade ago but they're just reality now. We are in the stupidest dystopian timeline.
