New Vegas will remain the best game of all time until someone manages to come up with something better than fighting an army larping as romans alongside a gang of Elvis impersonators after you beat post-apoc Elon Musk to death with golf club and the help of a smiling robot. If Obsidian were to fall to the dialectic then at least they would have provided us with such entertainment. I don't know if Microsoft buying Obsidian will mean everything goes to **** or if it results in something like the recent spat of (relatively) low budget films released like Sorry to Bother You or The Shape of Water that keep the indie feel. Similarly to how movies are hollowing out the "midbudget" films(20 mil to 100 mil) to give us smaller budget works and the cape**** tentpoles, we could see a lot more lower budget niche games pop up if companies come to the conclusion it's a better investment than risking more on a AAA entry. Given that Obsidian already have some measure of success with PoE, I would be surprised if we did not see at least one more game in the series similar to the first two.

Any class can use any item type, multiclassing with a class like Fighter or Paladin doesn't prevent you from being a skinny nerd in a dress with a magic stick if that's your thing. Caster/Caster has challenges because the abilities from subclasses or talents don't necessarily cross over, so your wizard spells won't benefit from a Druid gaining better elemental spells or whatever. The other classes are less magic, but the rogue subclass trickster provides free spells you can use instead of your wizard slots and many are defensive.

Thanks for the help zor. I'm going with a 2600, Msi B450, 16g ram, 1tb ssd, 1080, 650w psu, and a mid atx. If BF/CM produces good deals, would an 8400 be a good substitute if a decent cooler makes up the rest of the price?

Are you going to salvage anything from the old build (case/ monitor/ HDD/ CPU cooler/ whatever) or will it be entirely new? Video card recommendation would depend a fair bit on the resolution and refresh rate of the monitor it's to be used with as well. In any case 1080Ti has been discontinued, and is a fair bit over $400 so that's probably off the table. No, and I'll probably be getting a new monitor next year.

Hikacking this thread because topical. My PCU failed and I'm pretty sure my mobo is ****ed too, I was looking at a new build anyways but coming this soon I don't have all the money I want and doubt BF is going to produce discounts to offset that much. My question is should I go for a 1070ti, 1080, 1080ti or whatever amd card to get good performance that won't cost too much? Preferably I'd like to keep it under $400 for the gpu but I can go higher if needed. Im using it mainly for playing indie games and some aaas, but I'm probably going to start video editing as well. Processor advice would be welcome as well, total budget would be under $1.2 k at the very most, preferably under $1k.
