  1. Not sure that that made much difference- while I'm sure HBS got a lot of pressure on it it had to be OKed by MS, and any pressure they were getting on the issue would be a minute drop in the bucket whether from fans or from HBS. Whatever the case* it's certainly good to see. Would also be good for GOG if it's accepted (which it surely has to be) since it would technically get Microsoft on board there, and apart from LucasArts and maybe 2k they'd be the biggest catch left for them. *From MS's perspective it surely has to be seen as stupid to subsidise a competitor (steam) due to an insistence on DRM and I'd suspect that was the deciding factor. Explaining to shareholders how you are insisting that people use a competitor's product would be an... interesting discussion, if it ever came up. I don't see fan pressure as having affected MS' decission. From the disappointing way HBS had handled the communication of the DRM issue, I have no reason to believe they would have tried to renegotiate with MS if there hadn't been fan backlash. Ms had already allowed the backer DRM free version despite the original contract. So from the information we have as outsiders, they weren't the uncooperative giant evil one that some people want to paint them as. At least not this time.
  2. Same here And just goes to show that fans voicing their opinion can make a difference
  3. Latest update on kickstarter: Hey Everyone! We just want to send out a quick update to share some good news. Thanks to a new agreement we were able to negotiate with our partners at Microsoft, Harebrained Schemes is pleased to announce that we are now able to release fully DRM-free versions of Shadowrun Returns and future expansions such as Berlin. The DRM-free versions of SRR and Berlin will continue to be fully supported. You'll be able to download all game patches, use the Shadowrun Returns editor and experience user-generated content downloaded from third-party sites such as Nexus. We’re starting work to get Shadowrun Returns available on GOG.com right now - not sure how long that will take but we’ll let you know as soon as we have an answer. We’re very excited we’re finally able to offer Shadowrun DRM-free to everyone and look forward to making it available! Take care, HBS
  4. I am so going to rob a bank tomorrow. When they catch me I'll them the reasonable thing would be to ask for the money back "ok, you caught me, here you go" . Jail time? Not gonna happen. Yes, copyright infringement is totally equal to actual robbing and stealing. Totally. Copyright infringement is not what matters here. What matters is that people (the devs) work their arse off to produce the best product they can and then some little twerp (for example dear Bester) comes along, steals it and then wants to also be coloured as the righteous one and the one we should feel sorry for if someone makes an attempt at catching him. And how dare the industry upon catching him say anything but "Tag your it!" But hey let's all grab our pitchforks and chant about evil publishers, then everything is ok.
  5. I can't find my credit card...

  7. Watching a race car and driving a race car are two very different experiences. Of course the analogy would be better if one were comparing watching a haycart, and being drunk on a haycart. Seems more like watching Forrest Gump and being Forrest Gump (without getting rich and lucky at least once).
  8. I always forget that you are you, the fellow Teasman from that time when hanging out on the Bioware forum was not associated with wierd alien erotic fetishes.
  9. So one of my mother's hobbies since retiring is worrying about my career and scouring the internet for jobs that could interest me. Among those was a job as German Gaming Advisor. Sounded kinda neat. Then I looked at more than the title: customer support for the Elder Scrolls MMO. Which at least in the EU, as it turns out, will not be done by Bethesda itself but is handled by these kind souls in Lissabon (company recruitment video follows) : Part of the benefits package for the Elder Scrolls team the company is putting together, in anticipation of the game's release, is "exclussive access to the game". So if you end up playing and wonder why the CS person knows little more than you (if anything), don't be a racist and complain about CS getting outsourced to India. It didn't. It got ourscourced to Portugal
  10. I bought an issue of PC Gamer (UK). I quickly realised why I hadn't done that in ten years or so. I wish journalists who want to sound fancy would first figure out what those fancy words mean, before they use them.
  11. Pondering deep gamer-philosophical questions: If you play a game and are not logged onto Steam so people can witness you playing, do you truly exist and play? Achievement or it didn't happen?
  12. All i care about is an immersive world and story and interesting characters to interact with. Real Time or turn Based? Both will be equally bad if the story isn't up to par.
  13. I'm more likely to end up learning to do a point and click adventure
  14. Hmm or a knife wielding Brayko...
  15. I uninstalled. But if you people are playing maybe I should reinstall... I got a max level villain but then got kinda bored. It is a great game to have some fun with and traveling through the cities is really fun in an by itself.
  16. I have some concepts for a combat free rpg. I'd love to make one. But I can't make games
  17. I think the name is silly. Usually video game names are silly, but this is one of those names that try to be cool while being silly. Tired of "death"this, "dark"that etc. I'm too old for that. That is not to say that I may be overlooking an awesome project. But I have spend too much on kickstarter already. I am backing the Mandate and that is enough for me right now.

    Installing Batman right now
  19. That is on my wishlist... It's my 2013 game of the year pick so far. If you're into adventure games, I can't recommend it enough. I still havea huge backlog when it comes to adventure games. Never finished Ceville and also playing the Book of Unwritten Tales.
  20. Applied for a job that would be awesome... Now to wait for the rejection
  21. melkathi replied to Gorth's topic in Computer and Console
I'd take your Batman off your hands
  22. Eh, you are playing a game called Max that does not involve a psychotic white rabbit...
  23. Be my bodyguard instead! Then I could be your long lost pal.
  24. With the prompts at the bottom it looks more like QTE-Murder-Babe than anything I'd associate with Lara
