You weren't around for "Most Wanted" I think. The episodic pursuit that required you to get 100 PvP kills. You can imagine why I am not touching PvP again
-
I also backed it at $125 I'm a huge fan of the setting and I even backed the other Shadowrun game at $105 A fool and his money... $155 *coughcough* yeah... well I dont have any other vices
-
I should come clear by the way: I backed SR at the $125 level Though I backed Giana Sisters at the $150 level and while I am rather annoyed with those devs (a rant that has no place in this thread) I absolutely love the game they made.

You are quoting me, not Rostere I'm seeing a game that got $1,8 million on kickstarter and couldn't budget for basic gameplay features. If I compare it to other projects, with far less prestigious names behind them, like Expeditions: Conquistador and what they achieved with for example $77k, then yes, I am going to be doubtfull of HBS's statements. Especially when they haven't been sterling in their communication. Obviously everything takes time and therefor money to include. But it also takes skill (I wouldn't be able to code a savegame system, then again I wouldn't pressume to ask you for money to make a game. I would ask you for money to build your house though and I would not tell you that running hot water was too complicated to be included) and that means both technical skill and experience with the engine and organisational skill to keep the project on track. Honestly, wth HBS I have less doubt in the technical skills than the managerial ones. The impression I got is that they lost track of certain aspects of the project and then had no time to tackle problems that occured too late.

There was some statement from the devs that a proper save game system would have required extra funds and pushed back release... Same for lootable corpses. I'd wager they'd find similar excuses for everything else *shrug*

All that mad love for SRV is starting to worry me. Not going to read another word or I'll just be readying myself for disappointment

Not what one would have expected of a kickstarter campaign that was so successfull. Disappointed. Wish I hadn't backed it.

I'm currently unlocking the abilities on Excalibur and hoarding cash to possibly respec into a melee build anyway

I'm playing a range character. So far it seems all I need to do is spam my explosive shot while leeching mana so I can continue spamming it...

Playing: Divinity: Dragon Commander - enjoying it a lot more than I had thought I would. Had been a bit reserved about the concept and finally got it as part of my Original Sin kickstarter pledge. I'm starting to get the hang of the rts part, using abilities etc even though single target abilities are still a pain. Van Helsing - again I was a bit sceptical when Neocore announced this game. I blame that movie, but "van Helsing" as a franchise made me cringe. Obviously the game isn't perfect. Other games in the genre have multiple characters to choose from, more skill trees... but still I am having funa nd am prefering it over many other games of that kind. Somehow Neocore seems to always strike the right chord with me. starting Duck Tales Remastered - seems fun so far and has the nostalgia factor going for it. waiting for Wals to tell us his first impressions of Space Hulk when that releases. Also waiting for the Defiance DLC and Saints Row IV

Played a tiny bit of it just to see how the controls are. Looks fun so far. Going to play more tomorrow. Loads more as this stupid work will be done then

I just don't bother with Echelon contracts. Logged in, did a few side missions and a major arkfall. Then I shot some Volge for the hell of it and killed my 20 99ers and 40 skitterlings for two of the other contracts.

That's the usual problem with fantasy though isn't it? Especially female outfits are far from practical.

What the Ocelot said. And it got a lot of people onto the market place. So if they ever decide to do more with that...

I am close to 40 revives. So I guess I'll get them eventually. Really depends who dies around you. More socialy inclined people who know and care about perks will often stay down so someone can revive them. I do that too usually - unless I notice nobody cares about reviving me If you can find a friend to play with, you can do a revive pack: stand in a remote part of the arkfall, shoot a grenade launcher at your feet, die of the AoE and have your friend revive you. Rince and repeat. I feel that is cheating though. For killshots there are a few schools of thought: Wolfhound pistols have a great rate of fire so you can just empty your mag when the boss is nearly dead. Sniper rifles can do extreme damage, so with overcharge and the right perks, you can knock the whole last chunk of health off with one shot. Of course you need to be lucky for that. I used a votan semi auto sniper rifle for the hellion kill if I remember correctly.

Nah booster packs are given out to random eligible random people whenever someone completes a badge. You got the luck of the draw You are eligible with each game for which you have gotten all your own drops. Chances go up the higher your steam level.

Their maths is also off when they say that "All told, we came up with a total cost of only $629,974.69 for the contents (...) This means you'd be overpaying by about more than 50 percent of the actual value of the contents (...)" The amound you are overpaying though is $1,000,000 - $629,974.69 = $370,025.31 roughly 37% (which to the mathematically less inclined is less than 50% not "about more") Of course if VAT is on top of that, then it goes even higher and the "overpaying" goes even lower. not sure how much VAT would be but if, for simplicity's sake we'd go with something like 20% then we'd add 125,994.938. Then we'd pass the 750k mark and the overpaying would drop below 25%. The other thing I am not sure is how taxes for the pack itself go. Would VAT not in reality be paid twice? Once for the 1 mil paid by the customer purchasing the pack from Deep Silver and once for Deep Silver purchasing the stuff to provide in the pack?
