  1. Joe used to be unappealing to me, and the little I saw of him I detested and disliked. But he grew on me after I saw his Guild Wars 2 Review (which is really good). I even went back and checked out his Dragon Age: Origins Review (2009) now and... I understand why I didn't like him. That resolution on that video!! Jokes aside. It's cringe worthy (the DAO review, and I bet Joe would agree, as it tends to be when you look back in time). His content today is WAY better, WAY funnier, and WAY more interesting and intruiging. He has grown a lot as a person, as a professional, as a YouTuber and more. Funny thing I noticed though.... In his DAO review he's all "Minus points because the PC version is superior!" (about the camera control) Years later.... in his DAI review, he's all "Minus points because the Console version is superior!" (about the camera control) I just thought it was funny.
  2. 16:06-20:10 is about Pillars of Eternity
  3. @Sonntam: 3:18-3:19 (Pause) There's no space for any artillery weaponry (unless you can attack/defend several maps apart). But maybe you can get mercenaries to defend your stronghold or something, NPC units or whatnot. Maybe an Ogre even ;P but I don't think you'd get to pin-point or custom place them in any way other than their set-positioning (if there's even anything like this). Though, the walls above the gates looks like a great place to put a Wizard or some archers.
  4. I would've backed but I "can't", got to hold on to my penny's for the month and the next, unfortunately. Also: https://www.wordnik.com/words/spectical "Skeptical" I know, Nonek, but I couldn't resist xD
  5. Curses! As in, how could I forget to ask , "Are Cursed Items/Equipment in?"
  6. You'd be missing out on a lot of valuable research in my opinion. Making your own Adventurer's Hall companions on a first playthrough might get a bit dull... sure, you get to be your own "author" of your characters relationships, how they met, where they are from and such. But if you don't know anything about the lore or the world, you might find contradictions in your own narrative, or you might get bored with the constant silence of your mute and deaf band of adventurers (with the exception of the MC). Getting the VIP companions is not crucial to finish the game, they are not a "must have" requirement, but I expect them to tell stories and fill out the lore in more ways you wouldn't discover without them. For instance, Kana Rua, a Scholar and Chanter, will most likely tell the Player tons of stuff you won't get a chance to figure out or read/hear anywhere else. Though, some of the best Companions I have had in my parties have been custom made (in Baldur's Gate and the like), much better than the vanilla/VIP/original ones, but those have become better and better with each play I've made, or I've had a friend help me out write a second or third character bio and the character becomes tons more interesting. I.E. The best custom made characters are built on research/understanding of the lore. Which means that, if you researched prior to your run and made your characters based on the intel you can gather you'd make the most out of your own custom made AH companions. There's nothing stopping you from using a complete AH party regardless, as others have said, you're not forced to use the "VIP" companions.
  7. Some findings regarding resizing a large portrait into a small one (to keep proportions). Large portraits are 210x330 Small portraits are 76x96 More here What I had a lot of "difficulty" with (trial & error marking and resizing etc.) was, how do I shrink it the best way from the Large to the Small? If you cut out/delete 68x330 from the bottom of the portrait (or, make another document with a one-colored 68x330 "block/brick"/masking).
  8. I would like to know if Companions might go their own way depending on if you pick them up or not. For instance: Recruiting Aloth instantly gets him into your party, but ignoring him or declining him, you might meet him further ahead (to either befriend again, or slay, or as a temporary companion, or in passing saying "Hi", or interact with him as a Quest giver/employer). Question: Are there characters (companions or rival adventurers) that "traverse" the land and do they complete objectives/quests? For instance: Going to the Dyrford at late-game, and all the quests might've been completed by the passing of other adventurer's. Will Lord Harond always stand at the Dyrford Inn, and the Priests of Skaen will commit their ritual for months if I choose to ignore traveling to Dyrford Village? Question: Are there any dynamic events, and "IF", are they rare or common/uncommon?
  9. That was the "Aaaw" a couple of seconds later.
  10. Depends on what the crowd at Pax South were "boo-ing" at too, Stun. Because the Skeletons weren't permanent or because they disappeared in a blink when combat ended?
  11. 17:50-18:00 Presumably, Skeleton enemies have a death animation, and they might use that. Or they could use the cloud animation when summoning. Or we don't get anything. *shrug* will still be fun and silly :D
  12. Well that requires you to be a backer, though, and I sincerely doubt GordonFreeman is, based on his post. Yea...and what precise those a "backer" mean ? Those who help found the kickstarter, are those people called Backers....or ? those who gave money durring the kickstarter are the backers (you can tell by the badge on the forum). those who gave above a certain amount, are entitled to a behind the scenes documentary about the making of the game. the rest will just have to wait for someone to upload it on youtube Or support Obsidian by paying for the documentary stand-alone online (if they intend to monetize a tiny fraction of it). I assume most people will use YouTube or other means to see it, but if they are going to put it out for a typical documentary sum or donation program, then I'm probably going to support it with munny.
  13. I've made single Class parties in PoE Beta. 6 Chanters, 6 Rogues, 6 Wizards, 6 Rangers (those I've tried with). Some with more success and patience, some with impatience and failure. Making a party with 2 frontline Fighters, 2 Priests, 1 Wizard and 1 Ranger wouldn't be a disadvantageous party against the world. In BG I had 2 Fighters (MC & Khalid), Jaheira who i´s melee centered Fighter/Druid, and melee focused Minsc. 4 melee-similar and strong characters, handled mostly the same. In DA:O, 2 Fighters (MC & Alistair). I wouldn't believe it is too uncommon either to be honest, to have 2 of a class in your party. 3 is a bit of a stretch but, with 2 Fighters and 1 Priest, having 3 artillery Wizards behind that taunt wall, could be devastating. But you have a point with it being over-dramatic against, for example the beetles. But that would depend on how you play (6 Rangers against the beetles looks overly dramatic too btw). Would you put 6 Ritualists (Warlocks) in the party... or 2? Or 3? Or maybe just 1. You'd still be able to have a viable party with 1, but it would still be stronger with others of the same Class (faster summoning+casting speed). Reading on on a couple posts later, I state that it doesn't have to be "demons" per say, but something otherwordly. Avatar summoning (like Ifrit, Shiva, Leviathan etc. in Final Fantasy, except, the Ritualists/Warlocks would summon Eora God avatars or become conduits themselves).
  14. Just curious, what brushes/filters/palette's are used? I've tried modifying some pictures (hair color, scars, tattoo's, earrings, features, helmets, armor/shoulders etc.) but it doesn't always get very good (unless detailed copy+pasting). And I've also tried taking some random google fantasy portraits/pictures and tried getting the same style but it doesn't quite get there, and I'm suspecting I'm lacking a brush tool or application knowledge. Lacking in drawing skills is a given (though I often hear I can draw... heh, who hasn't heard that one before? *self-criticism*), but I'm wondering if there's any tips or tricks I could use to get closer resemblance to the Pillars of Eternity artistic style. Basically, what I want to do is a "paint over" pass on random fantasy google images, and also add traits to already existant Portraits (I want to attempt to make a "Doom Guy Portrait" Mod, that represents how much health you have, and maybe even what helmet you are wearing, and what armor you are wearing. If something like that is possible).
  15. Ah, oh, well, hm... right, I should've seen that in the first post (which I read, but I know why haha). I just clicked this thread to correct myself (too early to post 5 AM before work... on a monday!! xD) I'll have a broad strike implementation in 2-3 months, not final steps of a business. Well, not until I've read up and researched more on the matter. In a dream scenario (which I probably was in, a sort of dream state 5 AM this morning) I'd have a business in 2-3 months
  16. Hey Branimir, this sounds like something I could've written... I'm working on something, currently only a hobbyist project (and I expect it to stay that way 2-3 months before I take/finalize the necessary action to create a company and eventually attempt to sell the product on a digital market). I'm looking for like-minded folk. I've got to leave for work but I'm curious: What time zone do you live in? (I'll be back in 10-ish hours)
  17. You can also combine with 3 Fighters and 3 Wizards, or whatever similar combo. Lots of versatility
  18. And add the Wilhelm Scream every time they hit their head too EDIT: That's weird... A) My post window is "white". B) The video I posted, I can't see it on my screen (can you?) C) Those Big Head mode suggestions xD <3 haha
  19. This guy isn't even a reviewer people. If you read his box he says "I'm just a dude with 'opinions'" pretty much.. Thus, his "Review" is more of an Opinion-Piece, it is nothing but a "Blog" message. He's not a journalist and probably doesn't even know what journalistic research is. It is disguised as a Review/Preview, but really, it isn't. EDIT: And you are traffic when you click on that link, that GameCloud can use in their statistics of visitors for their ad networks etc. You're giving them money/credibility to their advertisers by clicking on the link, essentially. Do what you will with this info, go there, read it if you want, put on Adblocker, or ignore it.
  20. He needs an assistant.......................................... xD
  21. I can also see a group of Pale Elf Barbarians to be an interesting party (lore-wise). Or simply Eir Glanfathan Barbarians. A party of Druids hm, a covenant of Druids I... I don't see it. Neither does a party of Priests seem very interesting (Except some pretty fast, quick and powerful buff ups at the start of combat and then pummeling everything to smithereens). A full party of Rangers, right, I tried that too. That got super messy, but I suppose if I tinkered with it it might be more exciting. There should've been some Ranged Animal Companions I suppose, maybe expansion or unlockable in story? (Quillboar, a Spitting Llama or Cobra/Big Snake... or a Dart Frog/Toad. Enlarged Insectoid Animal Companions would be cool too... but that's more "Insect Companions" xD Beetles anyone?). Ranger isn't very intruiging in a full party Ranger composition though, personally. Then I'd rather want to have 1 Ranger with 6 Animal Companions :D (I seriously hope there's a late-game Ranger Talent that allows you to have 2 or even 3 Animal Companions... "The Shepard Talent" :D). And a bit off-topic sorry, but these are 2 "Why's?" that I keep coming back too: - Why is Spiritshift a "Must have"? - Why is Animal Companion a "Must have"? They would serve a much greater and better purpose if they were optional talents.
  22. In relation to a recent (Free to play game) First Person Lover <3 :D good/great chorus, song itself a bit "meh-llahw" (mellow, slow, "meh"). EDIT: "THE POWER OF LOOOOVE A FORCE FROM ABOOOVE!" <3
  23. I will play ASAP, and finish the game, and report bugs on the forums along the way, or take notes in either the Journal or in notepad or similar (and give a review & report list when I've finished the game). I might not be on these forums much until I have finished it. A) I don't want to spoil B) I want to be focused on the game (and not buzz or fuzz from the forums), to be able to immerse myself Though, I'll probably give a brief "Narrative/World First Impression/Feedback" of the real thing after 1 or 2 hours of game time (as I p. much know most of the mechanics already).
