  1. Intel's Arc discrete mobile GPUs have launched: https://hothardware.com/news/intel-arc-mobile-gpu-launch No word on when we'll see laptops in the wild with these GPUs, but it should be fairly soon. I imagine some OEMs already have their hands on these GPUs. Interesting that they put ray tracing cores in every model, even the low-end ones. I imagine it's mainly a marketing thing. I mean, even with something like DLSS or FSR I can't see a 35W GPU doing ray tracing at anything beyond slideshow framerates. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing 3rd party benchmarks on laptops with these GPUs. Edit: Wow, they only support HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.4a. That's an interesting design choice. No HDMI 2.1, despite the fact that HDMI 2.1 TVs and monitors have been available for over a year. Not that big a deal for laptops, but it's concerning for their upcoming desktop models.
  2. I did not read the spoiler, I'd rather find out myself. I do appreciate it, though.
  3. I get that Nasty can be abrasive, it's part of her, ahem, lovable personality. However
  4. The iron shield is several cast iron pans welded together. We make a lovely couple, **** the haters. Nasty's attire is not exactly practical for this region. I'm not gonna tell her how to dress, though. Also, gotta love the shotgun floating half a foot from her back.
  5. To join the Clerics I would have to join the Albs first, so either way I join the Albs and I can worry about whether to jump ship or not later. The Clerics pissed me off, though. I'm not going to post any spoilers, but if you've done Nasty's personal mission up to a certain point then you know what I'm talking about. I haven't been back there since that, but Reinhold better have a damn good explanation, otherwise I consider the Clerics an enemy. As an aside, I found out that Magalan's moon is not tidally locked like ours and also it has its own satellite. I just thought that was an interesting detail and only just now noticed it.
  6. This looks so dumb that it might be great. I'm hoping it reaches Wish Upon levels of hilarious stupidity.
  7. I'm lev 14 and debating which faction to join. It will probably be either the Berserkers or Albs, since I want magic to take advantage of the points I've been pumping into Intelligence (to get the skills that give you more AP & XP ASAP). Nasty won't be too keen on me joining the Berserkers. I'm not sure how she feels about the Albs, but that's probably the safer bet if I want to get into her hot pants, and I do. Plus, Albs have cooler looking armor and plasma rifles.
  8. I just found out that Weird West is a day 1 release on Game Pass, so I don't even have to pay anything (beyond the monthly subscription fee to Game Pass I'm already paying) to play it.
  9. Over the weekend I tried my hand at making a jerk chicken marinade for the first time to put on some drumsticks. Pretty good for a first attempt, but it does need a bit of dialing in. I purposely omitted brown sugar since I'm currently on a keto-ish diet, though I suppose a bit of brown sugar in the marinade wouldn't have been the end of the world and would have added a nice bit of carmelization. It was also not as spicy as I thought it would be. I used 1 habanero in the marinade for 5 drumsticks. Next time I'll use a bit of brown sugar and 2 habaneros or scotch bonnets.
  10. You know the movie industry is in fantastic shape when nobody is talking about the winners from their biggest annual circle jerk award show and is instead talking about an actor who hasn't been relevant in over a decade slapping a comedian over a relatively tame joke.
  11. They're 4K images, just be thankful I'm not @Bokishiuploading 16K images off a $50K NASA Supercomputer. Sadly, the 30 second clips the xXxBOxXx records are 1080p60, probably for file size reasons and perhaps because capturing 4K60 video on the fly might impact game performance too much. I'd have to get a capture card to post videos in their full glory... Well, they'd still suffer from YouTube's trademark compression artifacting.
  12. It sounds like they expanded the RPG mechanics from The Council quite a bit. The Council did have RPG-like skill trees, but I wouldn't have called it a RPG. The dialogue battles sound similar to what The Council did, they were the "combat" in the game. You had a variety of choices on how to proceed, depending of what skills you possessed and information had gathered, and attempts to influence your opponent weren't guaranteed to succeed, again depending on your skills.
  13. I got my favorite car so it's time for some car porn: 1998 Porsche 911 (996) GT1 Straßenversion
  14. It's literally his job to be a shill. Plus, there's always the chance, however small, that he's genuinely excited for this stuff. I'm already in the acceptance stage of my Star Trek grief, that kind of stuff doesn't really bother me. I'm at peace with the fact that the Star Trek I loved is dead and never coming back. Whoever watches and enjoys Nu Trek can have it. I'm just here for the memes... And to derive perverse pleasure from Mike Stoklasa & Rich Evans getting increasingly exasperated as they try to make sense of these shows.
  15. Marx may have been German, but his ideas inspired Vladimir Lenin and the Bolshevik Revolution, which set off the chain of events that, at least in part, have led us to present day events. That said, removing the Karl Marx study room, which I'm assuming means a study group of Marx and his philosophies and not the physical removal of a room or it being renamed, is an idiotic, but all too typical reaction in the times we live in. People like Karl Marx, or Ayn Rand for that matter, should be studied and discussed so that we can pass on what insight we can from their interesting but flawed and potentially dangerous ideas. Sweeping them under the rug doesn't actually do anything positive (quite the opposite, in fact) but creates the illusion of caring on the most shallow, surface, zero brain cell "Russia Bad" level.
  16. Liar! The least you could have done is nothing. It's always nothing.
  17. I'm tired of the phrase "it's the least I could do" being used incorrectly. From now on I'm only going to use it correctly. Next time I forget or am too lazy to do something I was supposed to and someone calls me out on it I'll say "it's the least I could do."
  18. That would be awesome, but you'd have to figure out a way to keep Kurtzman and Goldsman completely out of it. The instant either one of those hack frauds put their vile fingerprints on the project your glorious Phase 2 dreams would turn into a violent and melodramatic nightmare.
  19. Secretly, the best Star Trek movie. Also, I love the uniforms they use only in this 1 movie. They are so 70s and look so comfy. The uniforms they use from Wrath of Khan onwards look like they suck to wear.
