That design choice is likely a result of sticking to the past too much, as it was that way in older games too. You can persevere with skills you can't expert until Seahaven, though. I thought the game started out quite hard on Warrior difficulty and got easier as it went along. You can get by without raising skills to expert for a while, it sucks, but it's not the end of the world. Once the game opens up it gets easier, to the point that I wish they had another, harder, difficulty (which I may just make myself by editing the config file). I'm totally with you on the "one more turn" syndrome.

This really is shaping up to be the closest thing we've ever had to a true Ultima VII spiritual successor... Must not get overly excited... Must not give in to hype... I feel like playing something chill, so I'm going to get my Euro Truck Simulator 2 on. Later, I'll play a bit more Shadowrun Dragonfall.

Finished Psychonauts. The Meat Circus was infuriating, but not as bad as the first time I got to it, since I had some idea of some of the tricks and pitfalls. Once I got past getting to the last "timed" area of the Meat Circus, it was smooth sailing until I got to the other area that always gives me trouble, the part where you're chasing psycho dad while the water is rising and you have to scale the flaming fence. After that the rest of the level and the boss fights are a piece of cake. Also, while the credits were rolling, I learned that Raz's dad was voiced by Quark from Deep Space Nine.

As a huge fan of the X series, I implore you to stay away from Rebirth. If you want to play a good space sim in the X series, get an X3 game, like Terran Conflict or get the Terran War Pack which has Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude (which requires Terran Conflict). To say that X Rebirth was a disappointment would be a gross understatement. The game is garbage. Egosoft has released buggy games before, it's standard procedure, but this game is messed up down to the core. With Rebirth Egosoft managed the impressive feat of both driving away would be new fans and completely alienating their core fan base. I will say this for Egosoft: They have a long standing tradition of fixing their games, improving them, and supporting them for years. The problem is that I'm not sure Rebirth is fixable. The game is so badly borked right down to its core, that it would honestly be wiser to scrap it completely and start over than try to fix the mess they shipped.

Well, Volo did use a smaller font... That he did. But doesn't smaller font mean less emphasis/ quieter? I'm not 100% on my internet font, tell me if I have it right: smaller font = quieter larger font = louder italicized = inflection underlined = emphasis boldface = emphasis & louder ALL CAPS = 12 YEAR OLD OR A-HOLE Is that about right?

I don't think Volo was serious. I mean, he (I'm assuming Volo is a guy) didn't even bother to underline, italicize, or boldface his font for that post. Anyway, nice to see Russ have a decent game. It looks like he's shaken a good bit of the rust off. It will be a few more games until he's back to playing at 100%, though.

If Dragonfall is anything like The Deadman's Switch, then I expect money will stop being an issue in the latter portions of the game, unless you play a character that goes through medkits like he's popping candies and lobs grenades by the half dozen. I like the fact that I've been able to use my rigging skills a couple of times now outside of just controlling my drone and having it shoot up my enemies.

Nice triple double for Steph Curry at MSG last night. Also, while this happened a few days ago, I only saw Manu's disintegrating shoe this morning. It might be my favorite highlight of the season. Edit: Also, Ibaka breaking LeBron's nose might have been the worst thing possible for the rest of the league. I thoroughly expect LeBron and the Heat to continue trouncing teams while LeBron wears the Batman mask.

I'm definitely liking Dragonfall so far, there's more ways through situations than previous, which is great, and giving you a steady team with personalities was definitely the right call. I made an Ork Rigger this time. Having some drones along for the ride is almost not fair.

Germany = Europe and they censor everything. I thought Germany didn't censor sex but they censored the bejesus out of anything resembling violence? I saw the update this morning and got excited it arrived early. Booted into the game and no Daggerfall campaign yet (doh!), though the fonts in the main menu changed (not a fan of the new BOLD font, but whatever), so I'm assuming the save anywhere update is live. Gotta wait until 1 PM EDT, or about 5:30 PM EDT in my case, as that's when I'll be home from work and done chowing down.

Before you even start playing a campaign? That sounds a bit extreme. I'm not sure if you can save on the main menu.

I'm up to the Meat Circus level in Psychonauts. I won't lie, in the past this level has kicked my ass, and likely will for a while this time around.
