Still playing Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2. I managed to get another floor deeper in the Aura Gate dungeon, I'm on floor 33 of 50 now. The boss fights are getting really challenging, as they should. I fused Alilat. This sets me back on my grind to get Susano-o, but Alilat is just way too good to pass up and will help me tremendously in the late dungeon levels where status ailments can ruin your day. Alilat is a peculiar demon (it's a pillar) with high magic, vitality, and luck stats and no elemental weaknesses. You can build Alilat as a nuker, but it's a perfect candidate for a disabler, which is the direction I'm going. High luck gives both increased resistance to status ailments and increased rate of inflicting them. Alilat also has a passive that grants a 60% increase to ailment resistance. An AoE almighty nuke is nice for relatively low but reliable damage to all enemies (almighty spells cannot hit weaknesses and thus do extra damage, but they can't be nullified nor drained neither. Basically they always hit for standard damage). Add in a very strong single target heal (it's never bad to have a second healer) plus a unique repel pierce ability that is extremely situational but a godsend in those specific situations and you have a very well rounded demon. I transferred Mahashiboboo (MegaTen has the best spell names) to Alilat which is a AoE spell that attempts to bind all enemies (bind and charm are by far the strongest ailments) and a set of sick brands to boost ailment infliction rate and heal brands to boost healing. I have one transfer spot left that I'm undecided what to get. Maybe a spell that removes bind since I already have a spell that removes charm in my party on White Rider. Alternatively, I can get Madness to further increase ailment infliction rate. Alilat's one weakness is pathetic physical damage, but I have other demons for that (currently Wu Kong, eventually Susano-o).

Jim Sterling is probably masturbating to this story right now.

I mean, it's Yakuza except in the Fist of the Northstar universe, of course it's going to be awesome.

I usually stick with Sennheiser for my headphones needs. They ain't done me wrong yet.

"Villainous villain of villains" is some top shelf alliteration.

Patrick Mahomes II is the most fun to watch player I've seen enter the league in many years. I want to have his baby and I'm not even a Chief's fan.

I feel like AAA publishers haven't gone far enough with promotional tie-ins. The next generation of consoles should include some form of bio-sensing technology. Imagine a world where you are playing BioWare's (just kidding, Bio will have been closed by then after Anthem sells ONLY 5 million copies) EA's newest epic RPG and your character's health is low. You open up a bag of Doritos and eat a couple of chips to refill your health. Drinking Mountain Dew Code Red refills your stamina. Bonus points if they make the health gauge triangle shaped and the stamina gauge bottle shaped. P.S. Nacho cheese Doritos are standard and recover the most health. Cool Ranch also give resistance to cold. Jalapeno give resistance to heat.

I think there will be definite problems when it's a mix of self-driving and human controlled vehicles on the road, if for no other reason than AI's inability to account for the extent of a person's ability to do something remarkably stupid. Once the switch over is complete and there are nothing but AI controlled vehicles on the road everything should run smoothly. Of course, by that time we'll have much bigger problems to worry about; namely, Skynet trying to kill us all. save.us.john_connor

Ive heard that there are certain conditions that will raise the per mile earning, such as hazmat or car carriers. Is that true?Correct. Flatbed also tends to pay a little extra because of the extra physical labor involved (those tarps are quite heavy). I run dry van because I'm lazy. I do have hazmat and tanker endorsements. I may get doubles/triples in the future. -

I am. Most over the road truckers are paid by the mile. Some local drivers get paid by the hour. -
Self-driving trucks will eventually replace the trucker workforce, but I'm not worried about it. No way it happens before I retire and, quite frankly, I'll be surprised if it happens during my lifetime. Self-driving passenger cars are still well over a decade from hitting the mainstream; probably 20+ years away. Tractor trailers will be at least a decade behind that because of the unique systems and challenges that come with a combination vehicle and because you better make damn sure you have the software completely rock solid and bug free before you put a bunch of (up to) 40 ton behemoths on the roads driving themselves.

You hit the nail on the head here. There is a serious deficit of skilled labor around where I live. HVAC mechanics make better money that I do. There is a serious demand for them because let's face it, Memphis in August with no AC? You'll be trying your own noose with a smile on your face thinking "At least hell will be cooler"!Yeah, same in my field. There is a massive trucker shortage despite truckers making well above the national median. I doubt that any student counselor ever in history has suggested to a student that they should consider becoming a trucker. -
I'm holding out hope that it will be a return to form for Egosoft after the abortion that was X Rebirth. I want to rule the galactic economy with my Teladi trading empire once again. Profitsss! Edit: Now I need to make sure the laptop I plan to buy in the next couple of months can handle X4.

We should all celebrate Ubisoft's victory by purchasing a bunch of Assassin's Creed Odyssey tie-in Totino's Pizza Rolls.

Thanks. It continued tonight. I'm going down I-70 east when suddenly a car far in front of me does a u-turn. At first I thought it might be a cop getting ready to block the road off, but nope, it was just some sedan. This was very late on a Saturday night, so I'm going to assume this person was super drunk or high and missed their exit and instead of just taking another exit and using it to turn around and get on I-70 west they decided the smart move was to bust a U-ie on the interstate and drive in the wrong direction for a couple of miles. What could go wrong? It's not a full moon tonight... Hmm...

I can't really say it for most but in my high school they really pushed the college is the end all be all. They cut certain class schedules just so we can go on computers and look at prospective colleges. Most students around me went with it and whenever the question of not attending college was mentioned, it was with a "yeah, well, that's your choice".This was the case for me too when I went through high school over 20 years ago. -
Also, quietly (somehow) the Sawx have 107 wins. In fact, we have multiple 100 win teams this year.

I was driving up I-49 today in Missouri. To set the stage here, the speed limit is 70 and my truck is governed at 63, so I'm going... Wait for it... Wait for it... 63 mph. I notice ahead of me a car going significantly slower than I am. This is still a ways in front of me so I have time to assess the situation. To the left of me is a car passing me but it should clear me with plenty of time for me to get in the left lane to pass the slow car. I'm also comming ip on an on-ramp with a car getting ready to merge on to the interstate, but I'll be in the left lane by the time I reach that point, si no issue there. I put my blinker on nice and early so that everyone is aware of what I'm going to do and continue approaching the car in front of me as the car to the left passes me. Then the lady in front of me ( I could see the driver at this point) does the worst thing possible and starts breaking... On an Interstate... With no one and nothing in front of her... Right in front of a tractor trailer... jackie_chan_dafuq.jpg I don't know if she panicked, was drunk, retarded, just plain extremely stupid... Then she starts veering into the lane to the right which is an on-ramp that will end in about 150 yards. She almost crashes into the car trying to merge onto the highway and nearly forces it off the road. At this point the car to my left has finished passing me and I go in the left lane and pass this lady actively trying to cause an accident. Somehow no one crashes and she probably wasn't trying to cause a crash on purpose, but... /takes deep breath What I'm trying to say is that maybe some people shouldn't have a driver's license.

I imagine it's probably the companies giving out student loans that are chiefly responsible for perpetuating the myth that everyone must go to college, since they stand to make the most out of putting people into a world of debt. -

Amen. The greatest trick educators in this country have pulled off is brainwashing the general populace into believing that you have to go to college to succeed. Don't get me wrong, college is the right move for some people, but not everybody, or even the majority of people. There are plenty of good jobs out there that don't require a college degree that your average student counselor likely won't tell you about and a whole lot of college graduates out there working blue collar jobs to pay off crippling student loans. -

The Lakers have Bron now, which suddenly makes them relevant again, and deep pockets, allowing them to purchase way too much VC and line 2K's pockets, but it won't be enough to overcome the Dubs; not this year, at least. In the east a healthy Boston is a scary team. They'll make the finals and lose to the Dubs. Did I write this post just as an excuse to make a lame joke about NBA 2K19 VC? Yes, yes I did. -
I pretty much consider anything pre-vlc to be the Dark Age of viewing video content. A barbaric time filled with dozens of video players, none of which were any good, and an endless barrage of downloading and installing obscure plugins to watch crappy quality videos. Vlc may have an ugly interface, but it's been a godsend since it just plays everything and works on every OS under the sun.
