Speaking of which. Behind a solid pitching performance from Price, another great catch from Benintendi, and JD Martinez doing JD Martinez things the Sawx are up 2-0.

Well, David Price seems to have overcome his postseason demons this year, so there's always hope.

Youtube to the rescue.

By law, in the US, every hour after 40 in a week has to be at least 1.5X. I say at least as if anyone pays 2X for overtime any more. Those days died with the 2008 crash. Edit: Of course, it's different for me since I get paid by the mile. I work well over 40 hours every week and don't get paid any extra. Maybe they found a loophole like that?

I love PB's world building. With a fraction of the budget they deliver worlds much more lifelike than many [sneering Jim Sterling voice]Triple A[/sneering Jim Sterling voice] developers.

I'm starting to collect all the companions in Elex. I have Caja, Arx, Fenk, CRONY, and Nasty. I still gotta finish the Berserker investigation quest to get Duras, I keep forgetting about it when I get involved in something else. I'm not sure if there are more companions beyond those. Right now my favorite companions to travel with are CRONY, because it has a flashlight and some amusing dialogue, and Nasty, because Nasty best girl.

I'm finally starting to become less of a weakling in combat in Elex. The Psi abilities I got once I joined the crazed cultists went a long way toward that end. Now I can easily kill a lot of the enemies which frightened me in the past. This got me feeling more confident... which turned into overconfidence. I ran into a chimera and, feeling strong and tough, rushed right in to face it. I might have taken a sliver of health bar off of it by the time my mangled corpse hit the ground. Sometimes you need to be put in your place.

I'm just as confused as you are. I'm just going to file this in the evidence that anime was a mistake folder.

The world series is set: Sawx vs Dodgers. That's enough to piss a lot of people off.

Holy crap, I haven't listened to Techstep in ages. Thanks for that injurai. Now that I've got electronica I was into in the 90s in my head, I might as well drop some Ragga Jungle in here:

Reign of corporations starting right now! What a time to be alive. I've been investing in Charisma and Willpower. If any of you need a Shaman in your shadowrunner team, consider me, please.

Fun fact. Years ago, when I still lived up in the frozen north, they opened the first Krispy Kreme in Connecticut. The line was at least 3 times as long as that. Donut addiction affects millions of people everyday. If you know someone that abuses donuts, don't turn a blind eye, seek help.

Oof. I'd like to point out that fan interference took 2 points off the Stros' board (granted, Mookie possibly makes the catch without the interference) and they lost by 2. Benintendi saved the game for the Sawx with a great diving catch and preserved yet another shaky as **** Kimbrel save. The defending champs now find themselves 1 game from elimination.

I completed all the quests in Elex I needed to do to advance up the ranks of the crazy cultists from Acolyte to Legate, though I can't actually get the promotion yet since I'm not high enough level. The pilgrimage quest was the major part of the promotion quests and the only part with any challenge to it. There are some fairly strong enemies along the path of the pilgrimage, but you can avoid a lot of them via creative trailblazing. The 3rd of the 4 shrines I had to visit had an event occur where a large group of reavers are shaking down a cleric for his belongings. Normally, reavers attack you on sight, but since this is a scripted event and they want you to hear the conversation, they aren't aggressive until the conversation ends and they attack the cleric. I assume the standard way to do this is to try to save the cleric (almost certainly failing since there are a lot of reavers there and I doubt you could aggro all of them, even if you wanted to, quickly enough to keep the cleric alive) and fight the group of reavers. At my level, and especially since I only recently started investing anything into combat skills, that would be an absurdly difficult battle, since there are 6 or 7 of them and it's just me and 1 companion. Instead, I just ran past all of them while they were still talking, quickly prayed at the shrine, momentarily went into sneak mode, which caused the reavers to stop what they were doing, pausing the conversation, and ask why I was skulking about, then I peaced out before they went back to talking to the poor sap and triggered the battle. Cheese strats for the win!

Oh, I remember static on the TV. I also remember watching the porn channel which was all scrambled up and wavy. Once in a while you'd catch a momentary glimpse of a nipple. Those were the days. Kids these days don't even know how good they have it. All the porn you could ever want is a few keystrokes away. Back in my day we had to make due with the lingerie section of the JCP Penney flyer. If someone happened to get their hands on a Penthouse that was basically the holy grail.

The RTX 2080 Ti is really the only RTX card that it makes any sense at all to purchase right now. The reason for this is twofold. It's the only card available that can power the new RTX technology at anything even remotely approaching acceptable performance. In the few demos shown, a rig powered by a 2080 Ti struggles to even come close to maintaining 60 FPS, and that's at 1080p. You can forget about 1440p or 4K or beyond. Even assuming that once games actually come out using the new technology (there are still none on the market right now) developers have been able to optimize and get better performance, the 2080 Ti will still almost certainly be the only single card available capable of utilizing the technology and getting 60 FPS at 1080p. For anything above 1080p you will need multiple 2080 Tis in SLI. Outside of Bokishi, how many gamers can both afford to spend that much on a rig and are willing to pay it? I'm pretty sure it's well below 1% of PC gamers out there. As for DLSS, we have nothing concrete to go on at this point. Realistically, the deciding factor is still traditional rasterization performance. RTX is exciting technology but nothing more than a proof of concept for 99.9% of gamers out there right now and likely for at least one more generation of GPUs to come, probably more. The RTX 2080 Ti is the performance king right now. It comes with an insane price markup, but if you want maximum performance, that's the card to buy. The RTX 2080 gives you basically the performance of the GTX 1080 Ti, maybe 5% better performance, but at a significant markup in price. The 1080 Ti is just a straight up better purchase. Likewise the 2070 gives you basically the performance of a 1080 but at a significant markup. Both of these cards make no sense from a price/performance ratio standpoint and neither one is powerful enough to realistically use the new RTX feature once games come out that implement it. To summarize, only the RTX 2080 Ti is powerful enough to realistically utilize the new technology and it's the only RTX card that gives you traditional rasterization performance that you cannot get with a GTX 1xxx series card at a lower price. It's the only RTX card that makes any sense to purchase and only if money is no object to you.

I just noticed The Council released Episode 4 (of 5) a couple weeks ago. Once they put the final episode out I'm all over it. I've been itching to play this game ever since the first episode came out, but I always wait for all episodes to come out before getting an episodic game. This game looks like my jam. It's like a Telltale game, but with actual gameplay and RPG-lite mechanics.

Sorry to hear about your dog, Malc. I hope it gets to live pain free for as long as possible.

Now that I'm home I'm playing Elex again. I went ahead and joined the crazy cultists which got me a couple levels, a Psi Amp and some armor that's not completely garbage, so now I'm at least capable of fighting some slightly stronger enemies, though I still suck in battle since I've been investing most of my points into crafting and personality skills. I'm probably going to invest into combat related stuff the next couple of levels to make myself a bit more survivable. I also downloaded Star Traders Frontiers onto my ancient lappy and tested that it works fine, but I haven't really started the game in earnest. I'll play it once I'm back on the road in a few days.

The Sawx won a postseason game started by David Price. That's unpossible!

Damn, muh Boys took the Jags out to the woodshed in the first half. I'm not going to call this game over, because if anyone can blow a 24 point lead it's the Cowboys, but, on the other hand, the QB on the other side is Blake Bortles. Edit: The Cowboys looked like an actually competent professional football team today. Who knew they had it in them? I'm not fooled though. I'm fully prepared for them to **** the bed next game.

That's some next level thinking.
