  1. Mugen Souls was released on PS3. How is gungnir? I can't seem to find the FFIII on the PSP...that's an absolute buy if I could find it. Didn't even know they put it on the PSP.
  2. If it has to be one, then it's clearly PS4. MS has sucky exclusives and sucky policies. Its very likely you're right. However I'm not impressed by the PS3, I feel they screwed it up. Too few exclusives, too few landmark games, practically no RPG's - certainly no exceptional ones and a small game library. This makes me feel nervous about PS4. I don't want to invest in something that's going to have all the same multiplatform games (that the PC can do better). Obviously the XboX360 is even worse in this regard. I'm still playing all of its (worthwhile) games on my wreck of a PC and they look better too. But what if the next xbox is significantly cheaper (like half the price) of the next PS? That's something to consider. You're looking in the wrong market. Remember, PS3 is backwards compatible with PS1 games. I can play all the PS1 RPGs on my PS3. In addition, PS3 has had plenty of RPGs...released internationally when talking about the US.... Of course that means you'd have to import. Half of them are not really what Western audiences are into though...such as the Atelier series, the Agarest series which made it to the west...some of those that didn't copy that type of humor and behavior.... My PS3 also plays all my PS2 RPGs...so in truth I have FAR more RPGs that can play on my PS3 than I do on any other system...inclusive of my PC right now. I believe only the first versions of the PS3, the fat one are backwards compatible. The rest (indeed all of the ones available now on the market) omitted PS2 hardware to reduce costs. That's what I read on the wiki... you are correct on the PS2 front. However, as long as you have the current system update, all PS3's play PS1 games at this point. Speculation has it that the PS4 will also play PS2 games, IF the PS2 new sales are completely phased out by the time it comes out. I was an early adopter I guess and have the PS3 fat with backwards compatibility. What's even better is it's a pretty easy breeze to upgrade the hard drive. PS: Been a console and a PC gamer on both sides of the coin, so can't say I'd go with one or the other.
  3. I felt that at least some of the things you did affected a few things in the next games. Though it may not impact the story as much as people wanted in ME3, there were items that occurred. For example, characters dying previously meant they normally weren't in the next game (of course there was some other character to fill in....). Wrex I thought had an impact on how the events on Tuchunka turned out and how you handled them in ME3, especially on whether he was alive or dead. Things of that nature. Sometimes it wasn't as drastic, such as what happens with the Geth and Tali, whether she's even around or not.
  4. New game - $50/$60Silicon Knights game in bargain bin - less than $10 Court ruling - priceless Does this mean my copy of X-men Destiny will be worth a small fortune of Genetic mutations in a few years or so? Naw...probably not...games still was pretty bad.
  5. I have both and I can attest to at least part of this. I connected my gaming PC up to an HDTV (smaller one about 36") and game from the bed with the PC sometimes...though I prefer keyboard and mouse so a little TV table off to the side and the keyboard on my lap.
  6. Unlikely. MS is also moving away with Xbox as a dedicated gaming console and more towards an overall entertainment hub. It's also gonna include some motion-control gimmick which will make the whole package probably more expensive. Also, the PS3 has plenty of great exclusives (MGS4, Heavy Rain, Uncharted series, The Last of Us, Beyond, The Last Guardian, Demon's Souls and many more). Just no real dedicated RPGs. But that genre is as good as dead anyway (minus Obsidian). They had a few actually. I beleive the Atelier series was a PS3 exclusive. I'm not positive on some but I think they also were overall everywhere...of these but I think White Knight Chronicles was an exclusive...Valkyria chronicles, Folklore, Cross Edge, Trinity Universe, Disgaea, Altelier Tonelico, Hyper Dimension Neptunia, Persona 4 and most recently Mugen Souls. Could be wrong on some of them as with so many games going cross platform these days it's hard to tell which ones are exclusives and which aren't. For example...Resonance of Fate was pretty cool...more what I'd have expected to see as a PS exclusive in the past, but it turned out it was a cross platform game.

  8. I thought the Volus were the Italian merchants!!!???? Or Americans. (That was as joke...)......
  9. There was a dialogue wheel in DA:O? I thought it was a list of choices...been a while since I played DA:O
  10. Volourn should learn what quotes are. Currently I can quote his post and except for a bunch of selective editing...see that this was actually NOT quoted by Volourn...but written!!!!!! So apparantly Volourn doesn't like DA2 either? Sometimes using the quote box is your friend...stops double takes on misunderstanding what you post and what someone else posts.
  11. NWN point blank was Bio's greatest game ever. It wasn't great because of the OC though. That was crud. I don't see that it's the same story as KoToR...but even if one does, you can have the same story with one written well and the other terribly. For example...taking two movies which are as similar as the OC and KoTor...we'll say ET and the Phantom Menace. ET has pretty good writing, maybe not stellar, but fun and enjoyable. The Phantom Menace on the other hand.... NWN was brilliant because of the ease it allowed one to make their own modules, run their own adventures, and giving the players the power to make the game their own. I actually pretty much love the ME series. DA origins was pretty good. It was very different then the BG series, despite that they said it was a spiritual successor. As a game it was better than just about anything else released at the same time. DA2 had some interesting dynamics. I actually liked the dialogue and ideas in that reign. The story was not bad, but terrible in execution. They had interesting character ideas, but also, terrible execution. They made great characters hated, not because it was intended, but because of how terribly they thought about how to write the characters and the story. They made certain things so obviously out of place, you were left wondering what they were thinking. The further you went in the game, the worst it gets (culminating in one part where you are defending the mages, you defeat everything coming at you, maybe not even really hurt, and the head mage STILL turns into an abomination and ATTACKS YOU!! For NO REASON AT ALL). Sloppy. DA2 did have some really good things with it, but the execution was pretty darn bad. ME3 was actually pretty good overall...but you could tell much of it was rushed. They cut corners. That's why I think they had fewer dialogue choices and less true side quests (fetch quests of scanning a planet does NOT count as a side quest). The timelines they were given to finish games is what I think has cost them some trouble with their latest games of DA2 and ME3. That said, given their constraints I still think they did a good job on ME3. Jade Empire I felt was just the opposite of DA2 in some ways. Brilliant story, well written characters and story...but I didn't really care for the combat system and much of the gameplay. Some of the ideas were pretty cliche and sometimes I think may have been insulting if I were oriental. But they managed to do a good enough job with the writing to make it a great game. BG on the otherhand...classics. The entire series. To this day...the one of the ultimate D&D experiences.
  12. No comment on Bliz...loved them in the past. Now splitting ways since the games probably are not going to be my style, but no hard feelings towards them. On the otherhand, have to say hands up and props for mentioning TL2. Loving that game all the way.
  13. Blizzard started with it's internet DRM of SCII...and when it got more odensome with D3...D3 probably became the last game I'll play from Blizz. They can have the MMORPG players (nothing wrong with them, that's just not my cup of tea) and cater to them. I'm not one of those, and it appears that has become Blizz's speciality these days instead. So until they start catering to my type again, they've finally been written off by me (SCII WAS excellent, but there was enough to bug me with their having to do SP instant action and be online that it started the downward trend). I am not that cnoerned with whatever they do these days anymore.
  14. I never mastered horse riding on that one...which meant I could kill things easy dismounted...until the archers killed me.
  15. Artistic vision with the colors of blue, green, and red????
  16. Export/Import/Export/Import...suddenly I OWN the game in my XP Level...at least until towards the end
  17. That's the BIG thing I want to see about ME3 PC trilogy. IF they have the extended cut on disc and the DRM isn't that intrusive...I'll be very tempted to buy it. PS3 already decided to get it. Thinking they should include the ME1 d/l items and at least the same items they included on disc for ME2 (why change the disk? It would mean more work then to simply release it as it was already with a patch or two included) which means Kasumi and Shadowbroker. ME3...don't know. Thought they should included extended cut on ALL the releases for ALL the platforms, still not certain they won't, just they haven't mentioned it yet.
  18. Yes, the only bummer is it appears that much of the DLC for computer is NOT on the disk. If I recall for the PC version they do have the two DLC on disk though...of course I already got it, but it has me thinking about picking it up for PC also. Biggest thing I'm wanting to know is if the extended ending is included for ME3 or not. If it's included on disk...I probably will buy...if not...probably will pass.
  19. Absolutely Awesome...another day one purchase as long as it doesn't have over whelming DRM. Something came up that made me so excited I gave it it's own thread...whether that's good or bad... http://www.amazon.com/Mass-Effect-Trilogy-Playstation-3/dp/B003O6EDSM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349929296&sr=8-1&keywords=mass+effect+trilogy Or for the PC side.... http://www.amazon.com/Mass-Effect-Trilogy-Pc/dp/B0050SZ980/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1349929296&sr=8-3&keywords=mass+effect+trilogy can't seem to find it at amazon.co.uk though.
  20. I've gotten the games for both PS3 and PC. I actually prefer the playstyle on the console to tell the truth. However, previously I have only been able to play the entire trilogy on PC. So now, it appears they will be releasing the entire trilogy in a box set...Including for the first time...ME3 for the PS3 (wonder how they got that one pulled off with the MS wizards pushing Xbox). I'm absolutely thrilled...that's a day one purchase for me. Comes out on Dec 31. the biggest questions now are which DLCs are going to be included. The other question of course is if they are going to be DLC or if they are going to be on the disk (might be worth it to pick up PC copies if they actually include hard copies of the dlc on disk instead of d/ling it). I'm psyched on this news...maybe I'm the only one...maybe not... Anyone else???
  21. I was playing TL2, will be playing it more soon. However, had to format a hard drive recently, so while waiting I started up a game on a console that I had picked up. It's called Dirt to Daytona. I had picked it up on a fluke, but it sucked me in. Too late did I learn... It's the greatest NASCAR game ever made. I kid you not. The controls are far more realistic than most driving games (in otherwords, your brakes actually work, and the steering wheel actually doesn't spin you out with a nudge)...though you can actually modify it however you want, so if you want it more sensitive you can. The game itself is like a Driver's RPG...but your car is what you modify. I got totally involved with it so I looked it up online to see just exactly what I had gotten myself into. And then I found out, it wasn't just me...this game really was the best Driving Sim..especially for NASCAR ever made... If you have a console that has this game (the old ones, PS2 or Gamecube), run...not walk...to get this game. If you even remotely like Driving...then you are missing the greatest game for Driving ever made...
  22. How do you think gamers feel about paying for a product they don't enjoy and can't return? Especially, with all the marketing and hype surrounding games to get you to impulse buy them. I still remember Casey Hudson saying there wouldn't be a A, B, or C ending for ME3. Look what happened. There's no accountability for lying or half-truths in the gaming industry. @Gorth Just playing devil's advocate. No need for insults. Welcome to life. You are going to buy a lot of things that you will not be happy with, and you usually won't be able to get your money back. You are also only out $60 here, the developer is losing much more when people pirate their work. Developer's put years of their life into these products, and then they ask you to pay a nominal fee to enjoy it. It's a simple idea. If you want to play it, do the right thing and pay. When you pirate, you disrespect all the work that they've done. Such as?? I can return just about anything, inclusive of cars and computers if they do not work as advertised or work properly. In addition British Law gives Brit. citizens the right to make backups of media which is a LAW that MEDIA (so not just software) work VERY HARD TO CIRCUMVENT. That's probably more illegal in my mind than the pirates. HOWEVER...I choose to vote with my wallet. I will make purchases over the computer, but if DRM is too restrictive and I don't think the benefits outweight it...then I simply won't buy it on PC. Me a millions of others typically vote with our wallets which is one reason the PC industry in the US has gone so far downhill. Only a few PC games actually sell well enough on their investments because of this voting with our wallets, which in turn I'm certain the PC industry blames on piracy killing their sales rather then their intrusive DRM schemes and us doing EXACTLY what people have said one should do in this thread...which is vote with our wallets and not get the game. However...I'm certain there are others which get a console instead and do much of their gaming via console these days rather than PC. It's not that I prefer the console to the PC...but when I get a game on the console it's not a single install and that's it (currently). I can play it on any console I get and not have to worry about whether that console is destroyed or not (and whether I'd lose all my games by such a destruction or not).
  23. I need to play it SP first. Maybe after. The joys of truly being able to do SP in this ARPG!!!
  24. Finally got through to d/l TL2. Awesome game. Loving it currently.
  25. Just got it, playing it, love it.
