Cars 2 was the worst on that entire green thing. Ironic with FF if you think about it. Burn and destroy equivalent of 100 million people in pollution value while you make and promote the game...so that you might influence 10 million to pollute less???? I guess they figure they can buy enough carbon credits to offset the environmental cost...but then...those 10 million still need to expend the fuel in order to generate the electricity to play the game! Fun times! Anyways...TL2 is coming out this week...guess I'll be contributing even more to the destruction of the environment as I use energy to play the game!

I'm absolutely thrilled about Torchlight 2. It's at the top of my list. I thought for a Diablo type game, Torchlight one excelled for the SP experience and was excellent. It was the game most like the Original Diablo since...well the original diablo. It was FAR more like the original Diablo then Diablo 2 even!!! However, I'm hoping just like Diablo 2 improved on many things in Diablo I...that the same will hold true for Torchlight 2 in relation to Torchlight 1. It seems that it will from my experience playing in the Beta...and MP looked like it was shaping up to be the next best thing to Diablo 2. So yes, fairly excited about it. Wish they were releasing it on hardcopy...but even as it is I'm hoping to be d/ling the game on the 20th.

Hmm, 10 years away from game technology and making them...could be more buggy than normal???

Really doubt anything with a joystick anymore, at least these days...unless he's going to release it for console as well (though, who knows, he did WCIII and WCIV for PS...and I have both for that system too). Personally...I'd probably prefer Freelancer 2 also...or maybe something along the lines of Conquest Frontier Wars (a truly awesome RTS that was underated by far).

aka fallout 3...we see how much of a failure that was...

Well...EA probably doesn't think it's stock can sink any further than it has over the past 6 years...though I think they're wrong...it can. I'd probably be thinking of trying more ways to cater to gamers and those buying my stuff...adding incentives and other things rather than cutting off groups that could be buying my games. Either that or word it differently that in addition...all sp games will also cater to mp players by adding additional mp options.

So, some here are saying Transformers: Battle for Cybertron is actually good? I shunned it originally because it's a movie based game (and we know how those turn out 99% of the time). What type of game did it turn out to be and why is it actually something one should consider playing?

Annoyances leading to me giving up 1; Damn bossfight camera/fight control. Replaying the same damn planets in the end. Very long fights without savepoint inbetween. Killing 10 supersoldiers than dying to an AT-AT and have to re-do it all over can get very annoying. But the final straw was the Destroyer/TIE-fighter battle. Gripping them all is such a pain, I just plain gave up seeing how this with all above it was more like doing work than having fun... I must admit that was an extremely annoying, perhaps one of the most annoying item I've ever gotten through in a game. The Star Destroyer thing was absolutely a pain. Tie-fighters weren't bad once you learned the key to beating them, but that Star Destroyer thing was an absolute pain. Thankfully TFU2 didn't have anything close to being that annoying.

I enjoyed both. TFU had a stronger story and longer playtime as well as a slightly harder difficulty (or it seemed to me).

LadyCrimson has a pretty good build on display in a video she made in the D3 thread if you have the energy to search it out but IIRC you need to be at least level 55 to use those skill selections. I totally copied her and its what got me over the same hump youre at. Ive definately seen an increase in quality drops and Im even making money selling them on the AH. A couple items would be equipped right now if I hadnt spent large at the AH prior to the patch. I also have no problem finding groups. Now finding a good group may take 3-4 attempts but that has nothing to do with lack of people to play. Tigranes, Im on every day from about 6-8pm Central Time so hit me up. Yes, I think you're the only one I see has been on recently typically.

Depends on what you are playing. I suppose I could be accused of currently playing D3, but it depends on what you like. If you like hack and slash action RPGs...it does get boring after a while to a point. If you are a MMORPG lover...it probably is great EXCEPT you can't have massive groups. In fact, relatively, you don't have the numbers of live players in the game to really have that MMORPG social experience. If you are after a fun game for a short while, you could get it. I think the starter edition is free for download currently, you can't play the hard levels, but it should give you a taste of what the game is like for you to be able to determine whether you want more or not.

Well, now that they have it so Supes iconic romance is going to be Wonder Woman instead of Louis Lane...I don't know. If you follow the DC lines I guess a Supes game would have to involve Wonder Woman in some way. I wonder if WW will get kidnapped and supes will have to come save her? Naw...it's the new DC...it will be Supes who gets kidnapped and WW will have to save him!

Not tons, the following is in supposedly Nephalem Valor now grants +15% Bonus Experience per stack, as well as +15% to Magic Find and Gold Find Magic Find will now cap at 300% (Nephalem Valor bonuses will still stack beyond this cap) Magic Find is no longer averaged among all players in a multiplayer game A repair tab has been added to the Blacksmith Repair costs have been reduced by up to 25% for item levels between 53 and 63 Weapon racks have had their weapon drop rate restored to 100%, though weapons are more likely be of Common quality (white or grey items) Destructible objects now have a chance to drop items again The text color of gems, potions, crafting pages and tomes dropped on the ground has been changed from white to light blue The maximum stack size of gems has been increased from 30 to 100 The gem drop sound effect is now more noticeable Monsters across the game have had a pass to make their experience and loot rewards more proportional to the effort required to kill them For example, Imps and Tormented Stingers grant less XP and drop less items, but Lacuni Warriors grant increased XP and drop more items Experience awarded by level 61-63 monsters has been increased by approximately 60% Normal monsters should now drop Magic (blue) items and Rare (yellow) items approximately 4 times more than before Bonus health granted to monsters in co-op games has been reduced to 75% per additional player for all difficulties: Normal: (no change) Nightmare: 85% ? 75% Hell: 95% ? 75% Inferno: 105% ? 75% Monster damage and health and drop rates has been adjusted for Inferno as follows: Normal monsters now have a greatly increased chance to drop Magic (blue) and Rare (yellow) items Act I Elite monster health reduced by 11% [*]Act II Normal monster health increased by 4% Elite monster health reduced by 8% Overall damage done by all monsters reduced by 8% [*]Act III and Act IV Normal monster health increased by 10% Elite monster health reduced by 2.5% Overall damage done by all monsters reduced by 15% A lot more stuff but I think that pertains to the magic find and the monster information could be interesting to those who found the monsters at higher levels annoying.

Started on the D3 starter, for now at least, also picked up a D&D PS2 game called Demonstone. Thus far...it stinks...but I hear it's short...so it's bearable for now. Has just enough charm to be fun...IF it is short.

I wanted to put it in a different post. What is truly sad about Wilson's comment is that it detracted from what is a pretty notable news worthy item in relation to D3. They have introduced 100 new levels above level 60 for people to gain. Each level you continue to advance in your core stats. In addition, you gain 3% magic find per level over 60. These new levels are called Paragon and you can go from level 1 to level 100 paragon. They ONLY are unlocked to be advanced in after you hit level 60. So, there's a new reason for some to play D3.

Truthfully the only real problem I had with the actual D3 game was the always online, the RMT and the AH. Pretty integral parts, but if you could ignore those it actually isn't that bad. It's pretty good in many ways as well. I truthfully could have cared less about Brevik's statments, but Wilson's statemegnt showed arrogance that's been with him and blizzard since the release of the game. The hack they said they just discovered...been in existence a while...many even tried to point it out, but Blizzard ignored them and sold authenticators and other items instead. They've been treating their customers like for granted dorritos... So Wilson trying to do the same to one (not the only) founders of what Wilson made a game off of...is very telling just how big an ego he has. No wonder he ignored a lot of the feedback from the beta testers. He could care less about the gamers, the customers, and just about anyone who doesn't offer to polish his rear end with their lips. It's Wilson's arrogance that is the news and caught my eye to tell the truth. Not really interested in Brevik, he did good with the Diablo creation during his time...but it's Wilson's attitude that made me do a double take.

AS TN pointed out, already mentioned in the D3 thread. The question is whether Blizz will actually say how long the hackers have had access or they just stay mum (my bet is staying mum, that's what they've done thus far) (Either that or the hackers are better then Blizzard realizes, Blizz only thinks it's been happening since Aug 4...or that's what they acknowledge...it's been happening since LONG [well...a few weeks at least] before that). Another note: I'm interested in the Star Trek game...unfortunately couldn't view the You tube video, it's either down, or taken down or something.

Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Editions Announced
greylord replied to Lorfean's topic in Computer and Console
Not going to really get into an edition war here...but truthfully, for a BG3 or IWD3 I'd prefer they actually go with the older rulesets...but seeing that's not likely I'd want Pathfinder overall in my personal preference. That's why I think an IWD3 IN SPIRIT (so not actually under that name) would work, use obsidian to do it and use Pathfinder rules. Pathfinder could use a good CRPG beyond an MMORPG. -
Everything I've heard points to the idea that DA3 is in full swing of development. Not that it's true, but that's what I've heard.

Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Editions Announced
greylord replied to Lorfean's topic in Computer and Console
If you haven't played IWD, but enjoyed BG...you should play IWD! If you played BG but created your own party (MP but as SP) then you have sort of the idea right there. There's a story still, though not as epic as the BG series. It's more of a traditional type, with dungeon crawls spread throughout. I think the story is MUCH stronger and better in the BG series, but the dungeons, puzzles, and overall style is better in the IWD games. PS: Even though modified, I think IWD II captured the FEEL of D&D 3e best of ALL the games created for it (NWN, ToEE, NWN 2) to tell the truth, at least for an SP game. For MP....if you played with a DM and party...of course the NWN series wins...but for an SP game...I thought IWD 2 actually came the closest to the RPG type feel...at least for me. -
Not sure if serious, but if you notice there is actually only one film from 1997 on that list, and none after 97. So Titanic (1997 release) is barely at the point where it would really be considered. It did win 11 academy awards, so your argument is pretty shaky here. Glad to hear about the pacifist playthroughs in Dishonored. I still plan on getting it on day 1. Kubrick only won one academy award and it was for "special effects". That's how meaningless those trinkets are. So basically you guys are saying a film can be incredibly profitable, receive great reviews from critics, appeal to a widely diverse audience from ages 8 to 80, and garner a ton awards, but that doesn't make it a great movie? I know it's trendy to hate on stuff that's popular, but we've reached the point of absurdity. That's absolutely correct. Critics panned Star Wars...it originally showed in only a few theaters (though those theaters made enough that they spread it far and wide after that), and was a B movie. However, it did make a bucket load of money eventually, so that probably shouldn't be used as a good example. The Seven Samurai probably would be a better indication. No ONE really watched Japanese movies in the US when it was released. Titanic swept the Academy...Seven samurai did not. Seven samurai didn't win any of those "prestigious" awards Titanic did...but Titanic didn't really win the not so popular awards the Seven Samurai did. Seven Samurai was big for Japan (which means related to the US movies...it wasn't even a blot on the radar), but that really didn't take much back when it was made. However, if you want critical acclaim...THAT's a movie that won the right awards and has had the right impact for a great movie. Taking it back to video games in relation to what is considered great or not...It is like comparing Need for Speed as being a great game in relation to Planescape. Which one is greater? Which one is better? Both PS:T and Need for Speed series have had critical acclaim at times (yes, NfS really has had some critical acclaim, believe it or not, and it is one of the top ten best selling video game series with over 100 million copies sold) In the end...it IS subjective...so if you see Titanic as a great movie...then there's nothing that can change your opinion. There are MANY that think Need for Speed may be the greatest game series ever. But there's a cult of us that think Planescape: Torment beats it out hands down.

You aren't accustomed to losing much...are you. I wasn't referring to OC anyways...I was referring to your comment over AP. I would agree OC beats a LOT of stuff out there. That's not where you lost. You lost on your AP claim. Plus...partly teasing you about it just for fun. Seriously though. OC isn't the best ever...but definately not the worst by FAR. I think that's common ground we can both stand on. I know many didn't, I liked OC... But AP...that was absolutely awesome. I think it may turn out to be one of those cult classic video games...ones that have a small rabid fanbase, but over the years can make a big cry of how awesome it is.

Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Editions Announced

You know what, how about a spiritual sequel to IWD 2. I say spiritual because I'd want it done differently then what I've heard about the possibilities with BG3 above. Turn it over to Obsidian...let them try to recreate the IWD I and II flavor...but use the Pathfinder rules. Get in the game with the Pathfinder game...not only would we get IWD 3...but also a Pathfinder game to boot. Done by Obsidian that sounds like all sorts of WIN to me. -
And it only took them several months to find out they had that leak!!! Well...if they actually plug it the account hijackers may have to find another hole!!! But just remember...your authenticator is failsafe!!! Right? Anyways...still waiting for the price to come down on D3...probably will get it as a gift far before that point from how strong it seems to be going.

AP was friggen awesome. I win. Thanks for playing. Sales numbers don't always tell what's good and what's bad. Neither do critics. Otherwise Titanic would be one of the greatest movies ever made (hint: It's not) and everyone would never know about True Love, wesley, and Buttercup..... Okay...that last one isn't one of the greatest movies ever made either...but it's a fun one.
