The issue with abortion will probably always be contentious because both sides make valid points. To me it's a technological problem; abortion couldn't happen without the use of tools. I'm hoping that some day it will have a technological solution, although what form that will take I'm not sure. A system to hold a fetus in stasis prior to implanting in a willing mother? Microbots to block sperm entry into the egg? Perhaps we should have a program to study the possibilities?
Yes, exactly. The goal is to make it too painful for Russia to continue their invasion. Why should we handicap Ukraine when Russia is bombing their cities into rubble?
The US military budget is $813 billion, so at the moment this is just a minor (4%) budget surge. It's costing Russia a lot more to maintain this offensive.
That artillery battle hasn't been all one-sided, and the Ukrainian side is growing increasingly deadly with Western aid.

Which pretty much suggests that life can form anywhere that the conditions are right. Now if we could just find some elsewhere...
After playing turn-based games for a while, I'd forgotten how uninspiring FPS combat can be. Ah well. At least the character interactions in this game are interesting.
