  1. Comparing the Incredible Webb Space Telescope Images to Other Infrared Observatories Sweet!
  2. The problem there is the Russian naval presence, which could allow them to land anywhere along the coast and bypass the bottleneck. Against a blitz-style attack, a defense in depth is more appropriate. The Ukrainians couldn't guard every inch of their border, so they needed to prioritize. Clearly, defending Kyiv was critical at the start of the conflict, whereas they could afford to give up ground in the southeast.
  3. Reading The Zoologist's Guide to the Galaxy: What Animals on Earth reveal about aliens--and ourselves by Arik Kershenbaum.
  4. These days I only drink hard seltzers for minimal carbs and sugar.
  5. I would postulate that reversing Roe v. Wade is the end result of Super Tuesday. This arrangement has given the South a major role in the selection of the US President for many decades, and the elected Presidents in turn have nominated the current justices. The northeastern states still haven't caught up to its impact. At least California has joined in.
  6. Myrthos, founder and long-time director of RPGWatch, has decided to close down the site. RPGWatch - The End is Nigh It's a sad day for all involved.
  7. Even if it missed this time, there's still a psychological impact on front line soldiers.
  8. Our hometown Seattle Sounders became the first MLS team to win the CCL Championship, beating Liga MX side Pumas UNAM with a 5-2 aggregate. In so doing they set a CCL attendance record with 68,741 in attendance at Lumen field. I know it's not much by European standards, but it's still something for us. It's also an indication that the MLS team salaries are becoming competitive with the Liga MX teams, at least compared to where they were ten years ago. It should be interesting to see how well the revamped Leagues Cup goes in 2023. Leagues Cup
  9. It's in Russia's interest to separate the US from the other members of NATO, so there is probably an element of psyops in the communications.
  10. I don't know about legitimately, but certainly there's no insurmountable obstacle to it being overturned legally.
  11. You're... full of it, I'd say.
