Fun all-star game tonight, playing MLS' mid-season fitness vs. Juventus' team cohesion. You could certainly tell the All-Stars haven't played together much; they have a lot of energy but look a bit ragged.

In the U.S., the Police don't need a warrant under certain conditions, including exigent circumstances. As for police use of deadly force, the current threshold in Washington state is "good faith" and "without malice". There's some effort under way by the state to tighten down the requirements to be what a "reasonable officer" might do under the circumstances. But it's a difficult issue to get right. I'm skeptical that the officers in question were behaving badly.

I feel sorry for Josh. I think he's doing a great job but he's taking these things too personal. He should just stay clear of it, cause there will always be people complaining about what you have created. Doesn't matter how clear or unclear you've been about things, people will bash away regardless. Hope he takes a break and comes back doing new great stuff. Fame is overrated. No matter what good you do, people will try to knock you down. But I'm sure he'll do fine after a breather.

I'm not expecting much from the Seahawks this year; maybe 7-9. They've had too many sub-par drafts in a row, still have a mediocre O-line, and they got rid of Sherman and Bennett -- two excellent defenders. Ah well. I still like Coach Pete Carroll though, and I'll bet he'll get the team turned around in a year or two. Maybe.
