  1. No. What I'm saying is that you have a design document. You and your team all agree what the game is going to look like. You all agree you want a multiplayer component. You budget it out. You say single-player will take, say, 1000 hours and $5k, and multiplayer will take 500 hours and $2k. Are you honestly going to tell me that, even though your game was budgeted out to include multiplayer, that multiplayer is a drain on resources?
  2. I honestly do not understand why this is confusing. We're in the age of Season Passes. It was an incentive to pledge to a higher tier in a fundraiser. Obsidian wants to cultivate and grow this IP.
  3. If you seriously don't know anything about sexism and homophobia in video games, then boy, are you in for a treat.
  4. The SAG didn't give a cr@p about video games back in the late 90s, either. Now, it's a whole different landscape.
  5. What? Why? If MP was in from the start, that means that they have allocated enough resources to make the SP campaign/game that they wanted to. If I set out to make a cake with butterscotch in it, I make sure all the other ingredients compliment it so it doesn't turn out horrible. You can't take away resources if those resources were never there to begin with.
  6. Yeah, in the same exact way any resource is drawn away from any other portion of development. Yeah, I thought it was obvious too, but he asked. No. I'm saying that it would be no different, not that it was inherently be bad. Nothing takes away from anything if it is in the original design document.
  7. Yeah, in the same exact way any resource is drawn away from any other portion of development.
  8. Yeah, that's honestly always been a really retarded rule.
  9. Okay. Can we all stop talking about players like like have some sort of mental defect for playing other types of games? I mean, that's not that tough, right?
  10. .... you do know this situation extends far beyond the initial incident, right? You do know that Brown was shot up to ten times, right, after he put his hands up? I mean, you're just being a troll, right? Or else do you actually think it's okay to execute someone who is peacefully surrendering just because they committed a prior crime?
  11. Personally, I'm not sure this specific game that was labeled as a game for people who love reading will lend itself all that well to streaming. I might give it a try, though. People really need to get over that quote.
  12. The Ankheg Armor buried in a field outside Nashkel was equally difficult to find. Original Sin also has a heavy case of Item Wank. Bloodstone in a random totem pole. Bloodstone in a random prison torture device. Bloodstone buried in a random plot of sand.
  13. Some would say having a world where generic fantasy races are mixed with primarily new races is more creative than not.
  14. If they went union and full scale, it's a very real possibility that even two voice actors would decimate the budget.
  15. Asking the internet for help funding the spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment was risky? Are you high, good sir?
  16. Here's a place to compile all information pertaining to if you want to livestream the beta on Monday. And please, do link to your stream in this thread. The more the merrier. Step 1: Download Open Broadcaster. Step 2: Read the OBS Quickstart Guide. I clicked the YT links. The visual guides are awesome. Step 3: Make her open the box. Step 4: Find a suitable streaming site. Twitch is great, but it has a huge con: a sixty second delay between your game and the stream. DailyMotion doesn't have this problem, but the chat box is a comment box and it deletes your videos after thirty days. As of now, I'm rocking a Twitch channel (http://www.twitch.tv/aspie_lad). I plan on streaming as soon as the beta is installed on my Steams on Monday. I'll have to deal with pesky birthday BS throughout the day, but I'm sure it will be fruitful. Due to the lag, I won't be able to be as interactive as I'd like.
  17. Might that be an in-built setting? Usually 1-2 min delay is for competitive match streams to prevent cheating. If he's using twitch or hitbox, then that would be the case. Oh wow, never even though of that. So it's permanent? So, Ustream has no lag but deletes videos after thirty days. I think the lag might actually be good in this case. Is the chat room lagged, too?
  18. It's just progressed so fast and so hard. It's hard to say now what is racism (well, the instigating event blatantly, obviously, transparently was) and what is the cops just trying to control the situation with as much brute force as humanely possible.
  19. It is the 14th. So five. And my Stream Prep is going lousy. I've got the webcam and video capture to work, but the lag is almost a minute no matter what Bitrate I set.
