  1. It is Windows only.
  2. You can start the game with 20 Might still if you pick the right race/background. According to that stats sheet a lion in POE1 has Divine Might (20) Legendary Constitution, Perception, Dexterity, (18, 17, 17) Amazing Resolve (12) Average Intellect (8 ) I think they should probably change that for - piss poor (0-3) - poor (4-8 ) - average (9-12) - good (13-18) - amazing (19+) It's way more representative of the game stats distributions.
  3. When I tried Ancient Memory in the beta it just healed for 1 HP...
  4. It's not a general talent tree we are getting. They are not adding in new talents either. They are just taking some of the basic passives spread among the martial classes and putting them into the (weapon) proficiency pool which will change to allow you to pick a weapon proficiency or one of those talent at the current progression of weapon proficiency. There is no basic spellcasting passives spread anywhere to share.
  5. Quality enchantments seems to still be a thing at least.
  6. Brilliant news. I might return to my idea of importing a Priest again with this change. To bad my priest in POE lost their faith so.... not sure where they land yet. You'll be able to change the class when you import into POE2, so you can switch them to another god. Although, the game is unlike to follow that change (from Eothas to another god). Also, priest's spells aren't granted by gods in Eora so, it can keep the Priest of Eothas and just tell him you don't like him anymore.
  7. Happy Thanksgiving Obsidian and other Americans. We not-American testers will continue beta-ing and arguing during your absence.
  8. Wouhou, you get to pick two spells among 6 instead of 4 (in some cases 5 instead of 6 because some of the new mandatory free spells are from the spell list).
  9. They already have "hold the line" (+1), the defensive stance (+3) and another thing that gives them + 1 engagement under some condition. That's the base fighter. Unbroken get a +1 for using a shield and you can use a weapon with a +1 engagement modal on top too. It is very much the only thing the Fighter is good at: stacking +engagement. It's pretty much useless mechanically to have more than +4
  10. In POE2, a Wizard and Fighter have the same accuracy, both get the same dual wield talent, end result both are equally efficient in dual wielding prior to buff. The POE2 Wizard has spells that does pretty much everything the Fighter's active buffs and most passives do outside the outrageous amount of + engagement option the Fighter gets and constant recovery. The Wizard defensive spells are actually better than what the Fighter is getting, like way better. For + engagement Wizard are stuck to using a weapon that grants it. For constant recovery, eat poultry on rest, it gives +HP every couple of seconds. Before the change, the Wizard had to sacrifice power levels to gain that dual wield talent. By the way, weapon specialization is just a small weapon damage bonus and Josh's tweets said nothing about Fighters getting the weapon styles twice or new passives. He says they will be able to pick from either the class talents pool or the proficiency pool.
  11. A Wizard is a spellcaster, not a Battlemage, not an Eldritch Knight. If your Wizard is proficient with martial weapons like a Fighter is without multiclassing, the Wizard identity is now homogenized with the Fighter. It's not a Wizard anymore, it's a martial class that can cast spells. In POE2, people who wanted a Battlemage were supposed to multiclass with a Fighter. Going by this thread, multiclassing was a waste of time and effort form Obsidian. The "my flexibility fans" here don't want to multiclass to make a Battlemage, they want to pick a Wizard and give it Fighter's talents. There is already people asking that Fighters get access to spells because their weapon styles are now "universal", jeez. People here keep on bringing up NWN/NWN2. 3.Xe doesn't allow a Wizards to use martial weapons or armor without them wasting their precious few feats on those proficiencies to not suck with them, losing their casting abilities when wearing armor and their to-hit will never catch up to a martial class even if multiclassed. In POE2, a Wizard can wear all armor types without penalty others don't have, their to-hit with weapons was homogenized with all the other classes. The per-encounter changes turned their spells to just be actives abilities. Their only class identity was "I got more actives than martial classes and can't pick martial talents"...half of that was just removed. Now they just have more actives which will probably be gone soon, because people in this thread keep on asking for more actives for the martial classes. I call that a color-coded class system: all the classes are the same, minus the colors of their actives abilities.
  12. Some people prefer classless. Those people scored a victory with this update. It's okay to be upset that the game isn't what you wanted, but I think proponents of classless systems outnumber you by quite a bit. I personally don't give a **** between classes and classless (outside classless always leading to crazy power creeps). I said that I know people who do and they did not like POE1 because "people who like classless scored a hit" with it. They aren't going to buy POE2 now, while my first impression of the beta with the more restricted classes made them hopeful. I totally believe that POE1, and now POE2 it seems, is a class system that lack class identity. In other word, Josh should do what he really wants to do and remove the classes. Even the POE PnP is going to be classless anyway.
  13. That's what makes Berserker/Paladin so good. Once you get Mental Fortress the Confusion is completely removed from their Frenzy. Until it is patched...
  14. Or is this a change? This is what I understood the first time they announced the system way back. Companion class/multiclassing was always meant to be limited.
  15. People should keep in mind that some classes have + defense to Engagement attacks passives and abilities. The Barbarian's sprint even grants immunity for the duration. My experience is quite similar to Wormerine too. Enemies rarely breaks engagement and I don't have much trouble keeping my backline safe. One that I do know though, is that I do not start combat from my backline characters. I always start the assault by making my frontline seen first.
  16. The restriction exist to pay for getting sub-class bonuses...and you are asking to remove it to add even more bonuses? lol Well, since unlike the Wizard, there is no "NO SUBCLASS" option, so what the hell am i paying for with those bloody restrictions? There are sub-classes, it's the god selection. The spell category restriction is in exchange of having a free bonus spell (Eothas gets Firebrand and Sundeam for example) at chosen levels and I guess some themed god spells, like the weapon summon (which deal good damage, well the Berath's greatsword does at least). The Priest class does feel unfinished though. When Josh said he "trimmed" the class of redundancy I wasn't expect it to means he "gutted" the class.
  17. The current classes are POE1 classes with already more abilities/passives (minus Priest/Chanter/Wizard). And people are demanding more? You're just level 5! Level 5 on 20... I'm starting to think that making the whole thing visual was a big mistake. I do find it hilarious that now some vocal backers got to make Obsidian dilute some of the classes and now people who actually like the more focused classes are demanding compensation. But just stop it, not only is this going to lead to crazy power creeps with all the stacking (which is already worst than what was in POE1), but in the end there won't be any identity left to the classes and multiclassing is going to be totally pointless unless it is for more power creeps. Classes are just going to use different colors for abilities at this speed. I know plenty of people who do not like POE1 because class identity do not exist in that game and they feels like the class they select made no difference to how they play the character. POE2 was a step in the right direction, everything was focused. But with the latest announcement, we took a step back toward the "class but it's closer to classless with different ability icons" system that POE1 had.
  18. I think they just wanted grimoire switching to be a thing. Much like they came up with the Black Jacket fighter to encourage people to switch weapons. Personally, I'm not feeling the new system either. If they wanted people to switch spell books so badly, they should just have added unique bonuses. Examples: Grimoire of Flames: +2 damage when casting a fire spell. Grimoire of Conjuration: Allows an extra conjuration spell per level. etc. Isn't that much easier? Wouldn't that make it more exciting to loot a wizard's corpse? Glad they're working on the pen, but I hope they'll also take another look at the wizard spell system. Grimoire are supposed to have bonuses, in fact, every classes are supposed to get something to put in their trinket slot. It's just not in the beta (it's an alpha really).
  19. The restriction exist to pay for getting sub-class bonuses...and you are asking to remove it to add even more bonuses? lol
  20. Weird, because POE2 normal combat speed is slower than POE1 normal combat speed (it's close to the slow speed of POE1 actually but with more misses from everyone, including enemies so everyone dies slower). If you find it "way, way, way too fast" are you sure you aren't in fast mode?
  21. The +accuracy for holding a 1h weapon was never part of a talent. Everyone has that feature starting from level 1. The one-handed weapon bonuses was converting 15% hits into crits in POE1, but converted 10% misses into grazes in POE2.
  22. AddExperienceToLevel X still works, but you are capped to level 9 in the beta. edit: lol, I didn't saw the second page.
  23. I always get it in two specific places. 1. When I ambush the lagufaeth boar hunting party and I'm sneaking around after I kill the lonely sentinel at the bottom of the map and move right instead of up to clear the fog. The enemy that attacked my party without me seeing him is actually the top most lagufaeth, but that happened only once. 2. A beetle on level 1 of the Poko ruins when coming from the bottom door while sneaking. I think I'm spotting something through the wall here. Although, I saw something that might be related to that today while sneaking around the village. I had invisible NPCs at the limit of the character "eye-range". I could see their "sight-cones", but not their bodies, if I got a little bit closer I could see their bodies.
  24. I'm fine with. Also, GOG do have a cloud save feature but I can't say how well that works, I always keep it disabled.
