There is an AP ammo that ignores 5 pts of armor. It is just random roll on experimental ammo though

I think that game favors offense a bit too much. I rarely see the need for hunkering and healing is less valuable, unless going for alien facilities. I'd like a bit more balance so defensive play can also have some merit.

Be sure to utilize workshop and gremlins, they are perfect for resistance comms and power facilities if next to them. I usually build a workshop on middle lvl3 if it is not a power grid, gremlins can excavate, they can manage res comms and power so for 2 engineers in workshop you can fully cover power plant and res comm

Yeah i had it, super fun to riflebutt someone

Syrian Oil production had already dropped to ~ 380,000 bbl/day by 2009 (from a peak of ~580,000 bbl/day in1996) and continued to decline to ~280,000 bbls/day (at the time the conflict started). Proven reserves are 2.5 billion barrels. Syria ranks 32nd in production and reserves. There are far larger and more reliable sources of oil than Syria. So you think that there was no business in the supporting of the civil war in that area? Like there was no additional business from France in moving to Libya? You're shifting the goal posts. First it was oil, now it's business in general? I simply replied to your comment about oil being a motivation. Syria's production is simply not that significant. ok, so what other than oil could drive them to Syria? It was the goal of French in Libya, so what would be other interests in Syria? What would removing Syrian pres. give?

For a country that does it for the first time in quite some time, i am fairly sure that they are learning a lot from this experience... and they are also using out the old stocks. They still are not carpet bombing. There are some civilian casualties, but it is hardly the WWII level of indiscriminate bombing raids. it is less precise than US strikes, but precise enough to push advantage for Syrian ground army backed by its allies from Iran etc.

Ekhmm... so guys.... any tactical insight for this type of a scenario?

Dark you think this article is credible? Check below "Russians understand war. Americans understand managing conflicts to get unsatisfactory results,” one official familiar with the U.S. military campaign told The Daily Beast. The approach of both nations “tells the region who the players are. America is feckless and Russia and Iran are reliable allies.” Well when it comes to understanding warfare... what is better from the strategical point of view. gaining advantage at a cost of some civilian casualties or limited presence due to failures of previous campaigns and bad PR? You can;t deny that Russians are effective at supporting Assad with Aleppo most likely soon to be a crown jewel of their approach. Whereas US did what? They can;t even recognize who has islamic terrorist ties and who does not, so their hands are tied. Last thing they want to do is to copy mistakes of Afghanistan and Iraq. This also shows the msg that indeed Russians can be an effective support in the region while US so far had failed campaigns with exception of desert storm in 90s... Whatever they did after, always backfired and only complicated things. How are Iraq and Afghanistan better economically after the US interventions? What is the scope of the help there? They probably understand it, hence are slowly withdrawing and giving space to local players like Iran. Predictable dictatorship is much better than unpredictable mess that they caused. The only big question mark in the whole region is the Turkey and how far they are able to gamble away their position and test NATO ties. If they will invade Syria that will be an act of war against Syrian gov and its Russian ally... from there it is an easy route for a global disaster...

Blade rangers are decent early on to finish off higher HP enemies and then they are godly at max level with all their perks. I prefer scout rangers with shotty though I seem to be lagging on the map, but even if you get to the last red box, then it starts the doom counter of 20days, you can stop the avatar in that extra time. some people fought like this for 4 months on legendary... the radio facility seems like a must fairly early not sure how to balance it in to the pool of AWC, PG, GT and extra power... excavation on legendary is brutally long...

you are dropped into the city near the VIP you go retrieve them from their home/prison/convoy and you go out to the nearest safe place where firebrand is hovering. that mission literally is insert, retrieve, get out before the reinforcements come to the zone. there is no ground connection, no wandering around bravely etc. imagine a group of 4 terrorists showing up in your city to break someone from a local prison.. what do you think would happen, if they would somehow manage to come in with a stealth copter?
-
Yeah, I just can't help feeling short changed. So we are counting down to something dangerous. Show me the danger. Spawn an extremely hard enemy squad that you would rarely escape from without casualties and a new extraction point. That would have been so easy to do. They could have used that in the story as well to build up an enemy boss that you would have to face sooner or later for instance. what's the point of spawning 10 troop pods on top of you every turn with no extraction point from the map? youhave no extraction, window closed. you are in alien territory with no escape route and a city full of alien troops coming for you... that would be a waste of time and resources, unless you would like to just lose them guns blazing. the outcome is the same.

Well try playing a game with beginners VO disabled. Should help a lot

IF i recall correctly these troops should be considered MIA/Captured and that can trigger a rescue type of operation for some of them. Skyranger bolts to not get shot down as that would mean GG. Soldiers on the ground have no chance of escaping the Advent Hub place... hence the timer. You have plenty of time to deal with it and even if failed you can potentially rescue someone. Same as in case of running away and leaving behind a soldier under a mind control etc.

Heh i am playing XCom2, pre-load was fairly long but the update was not that much of an issue and it unpacked within like 3min... perhaps it has something to do with how many people are trying to do this at the same time on steam? I got mine done at 11PM GMT on 4th.
-
is that one of the missions within advent city centers where Central command tells you during the mission that interceptors are inbound fast and you need to extract within the time window or the mission is a bust because your small bird will be blown out?
-
You can always check streamers. I have Beaglerush as my go to place for xcom goodies and man i am more hyped since he started streaming the review version on monday.

well bad for them. Feb 5 is the date of Xcom 2 release. They're not releasing it Feb 5, just showing it off via live stream. Who would watch some stream instead of playing the game of the year on the release? I mean...
