I have mixed feelings about all this. On the one hand there reall never was Ukraine as the nation and the Ukraine in it's current form is an artificial creation (no real cohesivness in terms of traditions and cultrue over the whole country). It was also quite obvious that if the new government will be heavily anti-russian the Russian government will not just look as their biggest military asset near the middleeast and africa is taken away (Black Sea Fleet military base) as it has too big of a global strategic value. On the other hand allowing for militant actions and change of borders with brute force is dangerous and can lead to some nasty outcomes and bringing demons of war from the past. Probably it would be a different scenario and Ukraine would allow for secession if the eastern Ukraine was not rich in natural resources and industry.... The act from russains that there are no russians armed forces in Ukraine is rather silly and simply makes them look stupid, the whole conflict just leads to unnecessary civilian collaterals, and it's all about the free and unrestricted access for Russians to their crimea military base. Putin does not give a sht about russians there who were living in the artificial country, it's all about the strategic position of Russia an its military on the world map.

So you're essentially saying "it's okay for him to offend someone's sensibilities (however idiotic those sensibilities are), but when said someone wants to express that their sensibilities were offended, THAT's a big no-no"? This is a very prevalent and utterly ridiculous stance. If you're willing to cry "freedom of expression" for protecting people's rights to wear tacky T-shirts/draw giant boobs in their art projects/whatever, why don't their critics also get to exercise their freedom of expression by writing scathing articles about what they think of tacky T-shirts/art with giant boobs/whatever? You know what, even though I am indifferent to the religious stuff, I wonder if you will react with the same passion next time when some "artist" decides to use the religious symbols in offensive manner to people that are faithful. Or if you will react in the same way when some LGBT groups will be runing skimpy and nearly naked in places where it is generally distastful to run half naked. It's funny, but it seems that you can bash freely a traditonalist, christian white male without any sort of outlook on sensibiliy, but try to criticize a woman, or black, or gay, then you will get such an uproar that it's beyond stupid. You want to really fight for the well being of women... go to the ****ing Africa and Middleeast and go help those that really are in need. So far it seems like all these retards just were hit hard on their head with something heavy and simply have nothing better to do, but bash other people. It's these frustrated people, who never achieved a really big success on their own, a real life losers, pile up and gang up on people who they can pick on, just because they can cover it under the veil of SJW or political correctness defense banner... while it really comes down just to pulling down the successful or getting the extra rights over 'regular' populace. I agree with that short M.Freeman video. I also recommend watching a movie about Nelson Mandela... I do not see anyone prosecuted for being a woman in the "wrong" spot, being gay, or other race than white. I see however a bunch of retards blowing things out of porportion and politcal correctness driving towards absurds. Funnily enough I am sure that if i would buy tickets for all these retards for a flight to Africa and Middleeast so they could fight for the rights of really opressed, they would not go there... because the real fight for equality is out of their comfort zone and not in their real agenda. They just spout out their retardedness in the already tolerant and free speach environment, so they can now compensate for their own failures and shortcomings in their lives and their past, and now blame others for their own flaws.

So...DA:I is some kind of farce or something? I mean, I can't imagine what else would explain that dialogue or the voice acting. I usually avoid watching reveals as they contain some spoilers, but I wanted to check it for the quality measurment... This is some kind of a nightmare... is this what people deem funny and witty and a cool character concept now? She is like a bad and twisted attempt of porting Neeshka from NWN2 to DA universe.... I bet that you can bone her though, because that's what's important for Bioware these days.

Seriously?!! This is the sort of crap that had me decide to delete my BW forum account. I hope this is just a brief aberration here at Obsidian forums that will disperse once the game is actually released. I did not delete mine, but I am simply not visiting it anymore :D besides they have no product for me, so nothing for me to get invovled into. and as far as Quistina and the point that was made... If you don't like just do not support them with your money. $ is more powerful than words

I am fairly sure that you are bound by the contract to wear a specific type of clothing when you are on the cancer ward and your desire to wear hot babes or not has no real comparison to the situation of that guy. I am alos quite sure that you are fairly easy to replace on your position (as it is the case for the vast majority of jobs/functions) I am sure that if he would be making a pitch for the project in front of potential funding parties, he would also refrain from this type of shirt. It would probably was also the case if he would be on a staged press conference a day after. How is the shirt related to his work performance and interactions with other people (where proebably half of the people wear odd things as well and he communcates via radio/phones/computer most of the time). Not sure what you do for a living and where yo work exactly, but if it is a large institution, check how people dress in all other parts of this institution and how it affects their work...

And I'm sorry, but it probably has pretty little to do with "SJW pressure". I'm pretty sure if he was wearing a tacky T-shirt with pink unicorns instead of one with half-naked women, his superiors also would have had a serious discussion with him about what is appropriate to wear on occasions like this. Have you ever worked with people from "creative" or "R&D" in large institutions that give them a lot of freedoms as long as they bring results? These institutions get kind of "geeky" or "weird" behaviors, including clothing (or in case of artists lack of thereof). I am sure that the pink unicorn really matters when making big steps in science... You know what, if a person will come up with cures for cancer in all stages, make sure to disregard his/her achievements and not let it go through because he/she loves unicorns... Don;t use social media or computers in geneal, because the people who were pioneers did not have the sense of fashion for the situations and importance of the breakthroughs they were making... They only get the talks if the overall "image and good name" of the istitution is put at risk. Usually it comes up, with addictons or some illegal actions, OR accusations related to political correctness (racism, gender equality, religous tolerance) Unless you work in certain areas of the business (usually PR, sales, finance), the dress codes are rather lenient and the harder it is to replace the individual the more freedom they get, especially in R&D. So back to your remark, no, he would not get serious discssion about his dress code in the situation you presented, because no one would give a damn about the pink unicorns in the big picture of what was goin on (it might be even his "lucky" shirt). He probably would get some attention and become a hero of a new meme, but other than some "comedy factor" no one would care... It has a lot to do with SJW pressure and generally taking some PoliCor. stuff to ridiculous levels.

So in other words real world equivalent of the protoss carrier, but with slower and less maneuvarable drones?

I was referring to this line.

if reviewers are complaining, it is probably a BIG RED WARNING SIGN that it will be really bad...

So lets be clear on this, you think its impossible that he felt he had offended women he works with and he wanted to set the record straight? You say this cannot be the case? It's ****ing obvious that he WAS MADE to make the statement by the oganization he works for... It's a PR action driven by the institute he works for. He probbly went throughout a painful discussion with the HR people and his superiors. He probably crumbled, because the guy was caught completely off guard and out of his comfort zone with all this mess and he just wanted IT TO END. Based on the initial reaction to the good landing the guy is prone to highly emotional actions and is probably a little bit fragile in that mental deparment, hence you see him crying, because he still cannot fathom, how a shirt from a female friend, which has a non explicit cartoon on it, led to this humiliating and akward situation... YES HUMILIATING.... People are just getting overall retarded... I made a point in my previous post about the general situation...

there are so many games, that I can live without DA:I. Maybe if they will give it in 2 years for free, like some Battlefield games, I will pick it up OR there will be a huge positive opinion from sites which are usually conservative about the game. I will probably not watch Lets Play, in case Id like to play it myself. -
Because a typical religious beliefs and mundane actions are boring. It's just easy to combine the two. Look that through out the history it was both, the ideological and through that also religious exremism that brought out the worst out of the humanity... It starts in the ancient times, with various primitive religions (various sacrifices of animals and later humans), then a lot of voilence when the current major religons came into power (funnily all the three , jewish, christian, and muslm are basically referring to the same god and come from the same origin, just disagree on rituals and importance of certain prophets, mainly the j.christ - jewish do not recognize him at all, chirstians recognize him as the son of god, and muslims see him as just one of the prophets but the last prophet was Muḥammad) Monotheisitc religions threw the peoples mentality to the dark ages in europe, was responsible for destruction of the great library during the late roman empire, was responsible for the stagnation in scientific development of arabic people, the ones who were the ones who were leaders in major inventions in the early middle ages post roman empire. The same geos to all the ideologies, look at Japan and China, which suddenly stopped progress because the "traditions" stopped progress and were not really open to other views... just because in the game you get wierd vibes, it's just because you are actively looking for them. I see only an oppresive idology that comes with prejudice and fear, and opressed, who also have members that give fuel to the prejudices and fear when they deal with illegal.... You can put anything you want into that. It's a cliche that can fit what you want.... Besides, no need to derail this topic further, it's about DA:I game features. If you want to get into ths further, go either to BSN, or create a topic in Off-topic section...

I feel like all this Political C. **** is getting to ridiculous levels... it's just stupid... civilization grew and expanded throughout thousands of years and I feel like a lot of "civilized" world just got retarded and since there is virtually no major conflics, little poverty and generally good health conditions, people just grow picky and take a nosedive in their intellectual level and common sense level... People try to conjure a "new" reality and refute clear biology and thousands of years of adaptation to certain environmental conditions and biological roles, just because in last 2 generations (or say 60 years) humanity made an incredible progress in medicine and communiction (in all aspects, but most importantly ease of migrations)... Soon we will get kids taken away from their parents by governmental institutions, because biological parents are not skilled in handling little children and their politcally correct and healthy upbringing perks are not there... If my parents were taking care of me in the same way now, like they were around 30 years ago, they would probably be in a number of re-education programs or even in jail, yet I achieved a lot and am very successful in my life... Just afraid of bulding a long relationship and creating /my/ family because all of this stupid ****... I feel like a major World War could bring some reality check to "civilized" societies and people who take offense because a dude got a colorful shirt with cartoonish woman... seriously...

Spy theme or Sci-Fi would be perfect. I think we are getting over saturated in the general fantasy settings. Alpha Protocol was such a cool concept, and the only Sci-Fi theme in the last years was generally ME series, which got worse and worse with each new installment... Give me somethng in Star Wars, Stargate, Star Trek or Battlestar universe or just come up with some new Sci-Fi IP like Bioware did with ME... I nee some Sci-Fi fixation. I'd prefer explorers thrown into completly new universe even by accident and learning how to survive and esablish their name in the new universe theme than Ancient civilizations and threats How cool it would be when for example the space ship to Mars would get into some anomaly which would throw it into another galaxy/dimension and the colonists who were to establish a first base beyond Earth, on Mars, were thrown into a situation where they would need to find a proper place for themselves in the new universe as they pop out right into some alien spaceship vicinity or a ruined by a war deserted habitable world, which stil attracts random visitors as it contains valuable techs. I can even help the Obs in designing such a universe

I think you are reading too much into this. their writters have too poor imagination to try pulling off something like that. I's just cliche, one oppresive organization and another rebellous and oppressed, that sometimes taps into illegal stuff.

Nothing to see.... just another half breed beween RPG and action game from Bioware with fixation for teenagers with "pixel banging" mentality... move along citizen.

TBH, I will not buy DA:I. After games going worse and worse with ME2 then DA2 and lastly ME3, I got burned on pre-ordering and buying all DLCs 3 times... enough is enough. I'd rather buy Shadows of Mordor and the new Assassins Creed or Batman than play this game. I have obviously grown beyond their targeted audience of squeeling teenagers with "pixel banging" fixation. I have yet to see a good cRPG that is desgned with console controller in mind and the "action" crowd being the main target. I can only pray that TW3 will not fall, and the Cyberpunk game will also be high standard from CDP. So far I have plenty of games to play: Shadowrun with mods, Wasteland 2, Divinity OS, and hopefully PoE. I have DotA 2 to kill my time and TBS games from Firaxis/CA to keep my off line gaming time busy. As painful as it is to say, Bioware is finshed for me, until I will see from the actual game play videos and Lets play that the game can be a good cRPG with the old Bioware quality in story telling and party interactions, while improving on choices and consequences (I was sooo disappointed in ME3 especially the bull**** with the no real value about big decisions from the first ME). The first Witcher had better choice and consequence mechanics than all the games from DA and ME universe combined... -
You might try Men of War series, I think it is closest thing you can get to Real Time simulations of a battlefield, but I agree, there is no game where you can use that kind of knowledge... or you can join some hardcore Arma 2/3 FPS clubs and get into commanding position and order real men around the virtual battlefield

Well TBH after all the patches TW Rome 2 is good enough. I liked Dawn of War better than DoW2, but the latter was still a decent RTS I miss Warcraft... Starcraft 2 is really good for a classic RTS, not sure why people are hating it, I guess they do not remember how the original SC worked :D CoH is a good RTS Men of War was a good series, not sure how the latest games are though GIEFF Homeworld remake - I would literally pay tons of money for this game Total Anihilation was also a good mass scale RTS game. I still play it occasionally I dunno, for me there are two companies that are doing very good RTSes - Relic, Blizzard. Creative Assembly is more for arcadey playstyle, but it's still good enough. I am waiting for their Total War: Warhammer (it will be this next, I am like 100% sure that this is what will be announced this month) There was once a studio called Westwood, the legends were made like Dune 2, C&C, but then EA happened...

The studies showed when people are under peril, they're more likely seeking for intimate relationships, although the attraction may originate from primal instincts. Therefore, I think it relates to the whether romance/intimate relationship within a dark and gritty setting is realistic or not debate. Oh that's very clever. So then it supports my view that in a RPG where your characters would be facing death on a daily basis Romance is more likely to flourish? Not romance... casual sex is a more accurate description. Sex is a good way to forget about difficult things and pumps up a lot of substances into your brain. But it's not a romance... -
Do you want experience from combat?
Darkpriest replied to DnaCowboy's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
That game flopped hard, like commercially it was a failure. So I don't know what you are talking about. Also considered the best game by who? Just google it, the success of the tides of numeanor kickstarter success is also a good indicator for it and if commercially successfull equals quality for you than you must think the call of duty series is the best franchise ever created. If it sells in consecutive iterations of the same gameplay and it sells more and more, apparently it is a good franchise. Sure, PS:T is a gem of a game, but it is a gem in terms of an art... compare gaming to movie industry... Some really good movies have little income from box offices, and some other hollywood blockbusters sells in hundreds of millions $. From the business perspective, the one with $$$ is way better than the one with poor sales. From the pure art perspective the one with lower $ might be better. -
Do you want experience from combat?
Darkpriest replied to DnaCowboy's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Not really, as long as there are other tangible rewards for doing combat (extra loot, ingredients, different quest rewards/resolutions, etc.) I am ok with xp being quest/objective based only. -
Is that a game from the Silent Hunter series? I played the first one and loved it... then never really had time to sink into the series again...
-
I would not call it a waste... it's your choice, if you'd rather have more dialog options or be more combat efficient...

Fans got what they wanted.. IIRC majority did not want romance (there was a vote, right?), even more so, when you would have to sacrifice other parts of the experience for it.
