Only long term resource now (other than consumables of course) is if your characters are knocked out and become wounded.

You seem to have a reputation among them. The idea of spells being harder to cast, but more powerful, is one I'm on board with. Still not sold on Empower, but we shall see. I'm not sure they're going to be that much more powerful if you don't use the Empower though.

Many of the complexities of PoE are things that the Infinity Engine games had too but hid from you, so people just felt their way through them without really understanding, which was good enough. Raise your hand if you ever switched to a weapon in Baldur's Gate with crushing or slashing damage based on your enemy's armor type. Raise your hand if you ever used Malison to reduce an enemy's saving throws outside of maybe a high stakes boss battle.

lol, I was waiting for somebody to say this. D&D had lots of spells that scaled with level. There were people who complained that PoE had multiple magic missile spells instead of just scaling up the basic one with more projectiles like in D&D. This change makes it more like the Infinity Engine games.

The big question is, how do you implement the scaling without ruining low level single-classed characters who had powerful Level 1 abilities in PoE1? For example, a full-strength Rogue Sneak Attack could make many characters with just one level of Rogue incredibly OP. But you wouldn't want to give a poor single-classed low level Rogue a nerfed 5% damage bonus Sneak Attack either.
