how does the penetration mechanic feels like?
Infinitron replied to Ancelor's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
The old system certainly wasn't perfect. It scaled really, really weirdly. I also found it deceptively hard to judge at a glance exactly how effective your weapons would work against an enemys' armour, especially when it was bound up with the miss/graze/hit/crit process. You say it's simple, but it's only simple on paper. The old system wasn't good enough. Low damage weapons felt too weak. Armor felt too weak. Better to tweak this one. -
Criticism of the changes to the magic system

Well, there's also the matter of items. In particular relevant to this thread - grimoires. -
Criticism of the changes to the magic system
Infinitron replied to PrimeJunta's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
I totally agree. Spells take a really long time to cast in this game, you would think that the impact of each spell would be greater to compensate but currently many spells feel far less impactful than they did in POE1. Especially because CC spells in particular seem to have very low rolls and are almost never greater than the Fortitude of the enemy. Most rolls seem to be in the 40-50 range, but enemy Fortitude tended to me to be 60+ in many situations from what I observed. You guys should remember that it's not clear whether the party you're given for this beta is at the power level you'll have when you get to this same area in the final game. -

How is this different from what the first game did? Or did you not like that either? -

Project Indiana Job Ads - from multiplatform to console?
Infinitron replied to Infinitron's topic in Obsidian General
It's almost certainly the same game in both ads. They're unlikely to be hiring Seniors for two different projects at the same time. -

Infinitron replied to Walking_Potato's topic in Obsidian General
Quite possible that the game won't be revealed until after Pillars 2 is released. -
