  1. Two scenarios for a publisher-owned Obsidian: 1) Try to build up Obsidian as a developer of AAA open world RPGs to compete with Bethesda and CD Projekt. 2) Try to build up Obsidian as a developer of higher budget isometric RPGs to compete with Larian.
  2. You should probably try contacting Eric Fenstermaker on Twitter: https://twitter.com/theefenster
  3. I doubt it. Project Indiana must be the linchpin of this deal - it's the prime evidence as to why Obsidian is worth buying. Everything about is probably being arranged to all involved parties' satisfaction.

  8. You're welcome! And since we're already making the game more Infinity Engine-like, you could also have a mode that disables health regeneration or at least brings back PoE1-style endurance/health. Or maybe one where you can be wounded by grievous blows before you're knocked out, like in Tyranny.
  9. Some of these requests are weird. "I want Path of the Damned Plus Plus Plus, just bump up all the stats!" The god challenge modes are supposed to do weird and unique stuff you wouldn't typically use, that's what they're about. It's not their job to fix the game's balance. Even if you implement something like that, it's just one god challenge mode. What about the rest?
  10. OK, but even taking that possibility into account, the update contradicts itself. It says the megaboss is coming out this month at the beginning and next month later on. Which is it?
  11. Megaboss is in Patch 3.0...which is also this month: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/105588-so-wait-if-patch-21-is-coming-on-september-11th-and-the-seeker-slayer-survivor-dlc-is-coming-on-september-25th/
  12. Except the update also says right at the beginning:
  13. Doesn't that mean there are only two weeks between Patch 2.1 and Patch 3.0? Does that make any sense? Patch 2.1 was supposed to be out last month, what happened?
  14. Wait, was this update written in August? The megaboss appears to be a part of Patch 3.0, which I assume is supposed to be out on September 25th together with the new DLC.
  15. Recording of the interview with Brandon:
  16. I like how Brandon just can't help spilling the beans about the third DLC before the second one has even been properly announced.

  19. Officially, the difference between a companion and a sidekick is that the latter isn't integrated into the companion relationship system. Otherwise, it's an arbitrary difference and a sidekick could theoretically have just as much content as a companion (just not as part of the relationship systems). I doubt that more characters will be added to the relationship system in these DLCs, so it's just sidekicks from here on out. Also, I'm pretty sure the Priest of Rymrgand subclass is exclusive to Vatnir.
