  1. No it won't be. Their OpenGL renderer is terrible and blurry. They implemented a pointless zoom feature that zooms in on the source art and makes it look crap. The zoom also resets every time you exit an area. There are graphical glitches with many of the animations, such as the fireplace inside one of the Candlekeep houses. There are more bugs introduced by BGEE than were leftover in the original. The UI is terrible (terrible resolution), apparently the delayed patch has a higher res version but it still looks clumsy.
  2. Well there's probably no point making an announcement about it because we're still a year away. They'll probably just do what Adam Brennecke did and say Summer instead of Q2 2014
  3. I hope this **** gets canned. Congrats to Beamdom on making an already good BG, worse. BGT is way better. The only benefit is being able to play the game on a tablet. I know that's probably not very nice of me, but as a PC user I am a bitter customer. BGEE for PC was a total waste of money.
  4. I would say it has because Production hasn't even started yet. The team has done well with a skeleton crew so far in pre-production
  5. You have some wacked interpretations sometimes Lephys. 1/5th as capable. Hahah. By the way this is the second time Defiance Bay has been mentioned by a developer. That plus it's location on the Worldmap (oddly enough it's above a river just like Baldur's Gate ) I think that Defiance Bay may be Big City #1.
  6. Leveling up will probably be similar to Pathfinder/D&D4E. Static HP per level (which might be raised by an attribute similar to CON) One new class ability (passive, modal or active) per level. Talents are gained every 3 levels. Accuracy might be +1 every level (or every 2 levels) Defenses might be +1 every 3-4 levels ? You'll gain new skill points And every 5 levels? you might gain a new attribute
  7. I on the other hand hope for masochistic punishment on the higher difficulties. Spiked Cat'o'Nine Tails to the backside plz.
  8. Probably show off the quests etc from Prototype 2 or the Vertical Slice.
  9. Resource pool dedicated to good music =/= Resource pool dedicated to good quality music files It's probably even easier to provide HQ music files, because you just use the source redbook files rather than compressing them to OGG or whatever. Your argument is invalid.
  10. It seems that you can, and that would even be a good idea if you had a primarily ranged party, because then the ranged characters would be getting the bonuses as long as they were in range of the auras etc.
  11. Yo I've got an idea, how about I get my FLAC copy of Eyehategod - Taken As Needed for Pain and then my mp3 copy and upload them and see if you can tell the difference ? Do I really need to do this ?
  12. Oh man, I remember hearing that song in the movie "Stand By Me" but I didn't know where it was from ... all these years later and there you go I like the Wild Orlan look, they look different to what I pictured (I was thinking fur from the skin rather than hair) but still cool. The detail on their face actually makes them look better than the Hearth Orlan in those comparison pictures there just saw the large versions. Paladins sound fine to me, I don't have any experience playing the 3.5 Marshall, just the 4E Warlord. Will the Paladin be or Cleric be retaining any of the "Turn Undead" type stuff ? I don't know if there's undead in P:E but I assume there probably is something similar.
  13. Which info? UI v2 is a guess Gameplay footage: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2013-06-13-full-developer-session-unveiled-for-rezzed
  14. I would like a strategic element to resting a la Expeditions Conquistador, don't think they're included at the moment though. Everything I've read indicates that resting is currently a very simple mechanic. Resting = Full health, stamina and regain all abilities. I would like it to be more complex, but it probably isn't going to be anything beyond that. That formspring discussion also indicates that there is no portable resting at the moment. One of the reasons for lack of concrete information is because resting is not finalized yet. They may make it portable, they may add things to do. Currently however I think it is as I described.
  15. We'll likely get a demonstration video of resting this weekend, but man, I would bank on the fact that resting will be handled this way: A model (such as a tent or campfire) will be highlightable by the mouse and will change the mouse cursor to the "rest" icon cursor. When a player clicks on the model when the "rest" icon is shown, the game will probably then check if all party members are within range and then the game will either proceed to the rest screen or rest resource screen (if there's any strategic elements to resting such as potion use on sleep or anything). Actually building a campfire sounds like a pointless endeavor. In The Witcher you have to light a campfire at a campsite (circle of stones on the ground) by using the fire spell igni or using a Flint, but they did away with it in the second game.
  16. There have been a lot of threads on this in the past and the answers to a lot of these things have been provided. Growth of stats like accuracy, defenses, skills have unified advancement across all the classes. The difference between classes will always be their starting bonuses (+ gear, abilities, talents). The word "finely granular" (or small increments) has been used to define the growth of some things and "coarsely granular" (big chunks) to others. Attack rates will probably increase at +1 per level or something which is 1% per level. Defenses will probably be like once every 3 or 4 levels or something. We are not sure about attribute growth yet but you could probably assume it will be like D&D, an extra point to spend every 5 levels or something. Talents are gained every 3 levels. Every class gets a bunch of class abilities at the start (3?) and then one class ability per level. I wanted experience to be akin to the 2nd Edition Fighter D&D table, but I wouldn't be surprised if it closely mimics 3.5 or 4E. I've actually been wanting to do up a website that has all the mechanics information, but I just haven't had the time (uni etc).
  17. As far as I know you don't build campfires, they're a location on the map that indicates a Rest Zone, like Dark Souls, Dark Sun: Shattered Lands and Knights of the Chalice. There is one on the Project Eternity first screenshot.
  18. I heard that dynamic hair is in the works as well. Holy FuQ I've always wanted a game where you can actually be Rapunzel. Hair is teh win.
