  1. This is an issue with the Hidden Objects. Those locations have a hidden item/object and with this latest build, you can suddenly 'see' that there's something there when you run the cursor over it. You can't interact with it until you go into Stealth/Detect mode and 'find' it. Once you find it, you can interact. I reported this shortly after the patch appeared. Don't think the devs have responded about it yet.
  2. I actually like to have text. As you say, faster to read it. So I like the idea of both. Again, kudos for the time and effort you're putting into this.
  3. I think you're absolutely right. I just posted in the bug report forum that I had issues with turning in quests as well as problems with summoned skellies (the quest issue cropped up after saving and reloading when I couldn't exit the inn because of the summoned skellies).
  4. Started a new run tonight and got through the Ogre cave, then headed up to the dragon nest. Fought the battle there and then went after the egg. I had the grappling hook from the wrecked boat in Dyrford village in my inventory. When interacting with the nest, I did not get an option to scale the cliff with the grappling hook. Sent BB Fighter up to get the egg, but on the way down, of course he fell, as the hook and rope were not recognized by the game. Took my lumps and went back to Hendyna. No option to turn in the quest with her. I checked and the broken egg is in my quest inventory. Another thing that happened in this particular run was that I hired a Chanter to round out the party and when she summoned skellies, they stayed with the party once the battle with Medreth was over. (Not sure how long they're supposed to last, but I assume they unsummon after a battle?) Anyway, went into the inn with them in the party and we transitioned to the base of the stairway to the second floor of the inn and not inside the inn main door. Skellies were part of the party but would not move, nor could I make them move, even though I could select them individually. They just stood around at the base of the stairs. I was unable to either go upstairs or to leave the inn. A save and reload fixed it. I'll attach the save game, but I'm going to dump all my saves and verify the cache through Steam. See what happens after that. If I'm still getting the quest bug issues, perhaps I'll reinstall. 5. Just as Stun dislikes ESP-enabled AI (as do I), I also dislike creatures with insect-like intelligence acting as if they're sentient beings. So beetles targeting the mage in the back row because he's unarmored and squishy... no. Just no.
  6. Epic vid clip, Sensuki! Laughed out loud as well. Lauds and kudos to you for your fine work on the beta testing, and I'm very much looking forward to you and Matt's upcoming mega thread.
  7. Pretty much what Sensuki said, although I'll add that for me I doubt it's going to affect my enjoyment. It's not like I wouldn't see any flaws/bugs that make into the final release anyway, and getting a grasp on the game system and the world right now is probably only going to enhance my enjoyment of the game later on.
  8. Did you try serious pixelhunting for pick loot from wizard. Eventually found it on the third run. Seems to be only a couple pixels in size for that particular drop.
  9. Hmmm, I wonder if there's a n issue with my install or with the peaceful resolution of Rumbald's quest. I fired up a different save from back in the Ogre cave and played it out peacefully again. This time though, i chose a slightly different path, telling the ogre to lie low. Went back to Rumbald and turned in the quest. Same behavior with the items and XP, but now that I realize the character sheet doesn't update, I scrolled through the party and saw everything was kosher. However, I did notice that the portrait didn't change when I changed characters. When I exited the character screen, I saw that the characters had enough XP to level up, so I started with the Wizard. As soon as I hit Done, the game froze. Had to call up the task manager to get out. So... another corrupt save? A bad install? Or is the entire character save array corrupt? I'll have to experiment some more. For posterity, link to the save in question that froze: http://www.upload.ee/files/4247361/b827419aa0e34baab27111f0cfbe490f_DyrfordVillage_7617159.savegame.html
  10. Is the issue that they' need fewer HPs, or is the poison from the beetles taking your fighter out?
  11. A couple things: I resolved the Ogre quest peacefully and headed back to Rumbald to give him the news. Before talking to him, I saved the game as I wanted to check to see if the party was getting the XP award that pops up in the combat log. I've seen the game report in the old build that the party gets 1500 XP when you tell Rumbald you convinced the Ogre to leave, but the game never actually gave the points. So, I tested it this time and no joy again. Game reports you get the piglet, the Lead Spitter, and 1500 Xp. You get the items but not the XP. So I decided to load up the save and try it again, just to see if that would fix it. Hot ESC. then Quit, then Load. Game froze on a black screen. Had to CTRL+ALT+DEL to get the task manager up, and I see a crash report. Had to kill the game with the task manager. Crash report available at the following link: http://www.upload.ee/files/4247339/2014-09-05_205202.rar.html *edit* Okay, I loaded that save again and tried it out. Looks like what's happening with the XP is it doesn't update on the character sheet until you scroll either forward or backward to the next party member. As soon as you do that, the XP are updated. On a side note, I'm pretty sure this save is corrupted. When looking at the XPs and scrolling through the party members, the portrait did not change from my main. Reloaded the save (ESC, Quit, Load again) and when i opened the character sheet I got the jumbled mess that was reported in the previous build. Scrolling through the party members fixed the mess, but no portrait was shown. 12. It's actually a hidden object. If you go into Stealth/Search mode, you'll 'discover' is and be able to interact with it. This latest build cropped up with this particular bug, which wasn't in the previous build.
  13. If memory serves, this is the case. I doubled up on the Grimoire with the BB Wizard in the previous build, but couldn't do so in this one yet, as the game I was playing where we waxed the NPC wizard I was unable to loot the corpse. But I believe in the previous build the grimoires were on the same cooldown and you didn't get to cast more spells per day. You just had a wider selection.
  14. On the surface, that's a good thing though. You shouldn't be able to have your party tactically arrayed before every battle. But, IMO, the issue arises that there just aren't enough offensive AoE spells (at least not in the Beta) that don't also include friendly fire. You'll find it a lot different (better?) when you hit the beetles and spiders, I think.
  15. A good point. But in this case, my statement about being pissed by losing time would still stand.
  16. LOL - Midget pr0n! Nice one, Sensuki. *edit* Re the Might score: Dwarf get +2 Might, which means you can set it to 20. If you choose the Living Lands culture background, that gives you a further +1 for the 21 total.
  17. I can definitely see how that could be fun, don't get me wrong. But the issue arises in how to implement it. Does it only happen to mundane weapons? If so, then very early on it's not going to be a factor. Does it happen to magical weapons? If so, then most players are going to be pissed at losing that nice sword and just reload. I admit I'd be a reloader in that case. And I'd be really pissed if that reload meant I had to replay a big chunk of time if I hadn't thought to save before that particular battle. *edit* A fumble system where - on rare occasions - the character drops the weapon and has to spend a turn picking it up. Now that would be something I could accept.
  18. I asked for this in another thread (I think the general suggestions one), but I'm going to +10 it here in a thread dedicated to the idea. I really want this. Especially important in a game where there are supposed to be multiple paths to solve quests, IMO.
  19. As an old PnP gamer, I like the idea... for PnP sessions. I don't really like it in games (except maybe, perhaps, possibly the fumble/critical miss mechanic - which are tied together, no? - but even then I'd need some convincing). Breaking weapons I do not like, nor do I like having to maintain/repair them. I've not yet played a game with a weapon-breaking or repair mechanic where I thought the game was better for it or it was a fun aspect.
  20. Curious: has anyone had issues with crashes/corrupted saves in this build? I had an issue in a game last night where I couldn't loot a drop from the wizard at the dragon's nest. Loaded that game up this morning and it froze/crashed. Tried again and couldn't turn in the quest to Hendyna. Wiped the saves, and restarted Steam. I'll see if it makes a difference. I reported it in the bug thread, but was wondering if anyone has had similar issues?
  21. Further update: decided this morning to try continuing in this game. It crashed/froze once and then when I took the broken egg back to Hendyna, I could not turn it in (I checked and it's in the inventory). So this game is corrupted, I guess. Shut down Steam and wiped all the saves. Going to try another run. If I get similar issues, I'll try a reinstall.
  22. Adding an addendum to this as well. In this same game, when I went for the dragon egg, the game did not acknowledge that I had a rope in my inventory. I was never given the option to use it during the descent, whether the grapple/rope was in my main's inventory or the character that actually did the climbing. So my only option was to climb down and fall/break the egg. Will try to test this further to see if it's just a glitch in that particular run or if it's something that's specific to v278.
  23. Yeah, I find a lot of my pause time is taken up reading the spell and talent descriptions so I can figure out what I can use in a given situation. The use of the old icons is very confusing at times.
  24. I very much look forward to this thread.
  25. I really hope they document this accurately. I ****ing hate reading a spell description and finding out in the heat of combat that it affects everyone when the description leads you to believe it's only targeted at enemies. I also hope they don't go overboard with the number of 'affect everything' spells. There need to be a good mix with a substantial number that don't cause friendly fire. Or spellchucking in battle will be useless.
