Will I be able to download the game with Steam if I am a backer?
Thank you LadyCrimson, now that you mention it I remember getting that message on one of my Steam games. Good to know about how GOG handles it.

Which is far from a good thing, usually. I'm not certain, but I believe there's a setting for that. Because, as long as you don't begin the patching process, you can go on playing the game without ever patching it (or having to connect to the interwebs again) in Steam. I think you are correct. Isn't GoG DRM free?

30 min vid about the dumbing down of The Elder Scrolls franchise
People like different hings and have different styles of playing which is what makes things interesting and gives us choices. Everyone has a right to his or her own opinions. Opinions are just that' opinions. Insulting others because you disagree is know as using Ad Hominid arguments and leads to threads being closed. Skyrim was and is a popular game, a lot of people like it.

which is why it is good to have a choice.

Why do we need to blame anyone? I think that even in humour is counter productive. Disagreeing is one thing, blaming is another.

Steam will automatically update a game if patches are released.

My opinions what a good RPG should have
I have seen many discussions of what a RPG is. It is a broadly used term for simply playing a role. You take on the persona of someone either created by you or set by the game. You are acting . What makes a good role playing game really depends on the player and what he or she likes. My first CRPG was Betrayal at Krondor based on the Riftwar series. then moved on to the Infinity Engine games and later played the TES games. There are also the Assassin Creed games and many others. All are RPGs and they vary a great deal. There are no set rules for RPGs and in my opinion should not be as that would destroy the possibility of creativity and inovation. AWhat I like in games may be disliked by someone else. Millions of people play games so there could well be millions of ways to play a RPG game. The reason I avoid walkthroughs until I have completed a game is that a walkthrough is that person's style of playing. They are fun and good to look at after I have played to see how someone else played and to see if I missed so

REAL Time... (with pause)
If you want interesting combat stances you should play a game developed by the Chinese called Prince of Qin. That was and still is my favorite for combat. Iwas turn based and you did have icons on the UI bar to choose what you wanted.

I think they did it because lock picking is useful whether you take the non-combat path or the combat path.

I think comparing games like Oblivion and Skyrim to games like BG, Planescape/Torment etc. is a bit like comparing a Smorgasbord to a twelve course gourmet dinner. Two very different types of games.

There are plenty of good voice actors. Neither does OE need to spend a bundle on known or famous actors.

I also remember that happening at some point. No game will ever be "perfect" and a certain amount of disbelief needs to be uspended.

I have an AMD radeon card Model no.R7-260X-CD and have no problem with the game.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS Modding thread: A simple mod and Console commands
I pay no attention to the log unless I want to check something to see what went wrong or isn't working.

Creativity is totally different from technical knowledge. A child of five without knowing the "correct" Technics can be very creative. I also think there are several reasons for the change from how Morrowind was done and how Oblivion and Skyrim where done. 1) technology - the advances in technology gave the industry some new toys to work with. 3D graphics for one. 2) Players - The ones who have complaints are most apt to post so the industry hears from them and not from those who like certain things. Bethesda does respond to players. For Skyrim they took a look at popular mods and did try to incorporate some of those into the game. 3) Consoles and mobile devices - both very popular these days.

Combat: Action Icon- Recovery Bar
If I stop to think about it I find it odd looking but mostly I am indifferent to it.

My Perspective on v392
And I find the pathfinding refreshing in PoE. The little bit of dithering s=even seems natural to me. Occasionally I have had to move the party a little to fix it.

Kickstarter in-game item / Pre-order in-game items
This is what I have difficulties to understand. If I don’t like the way a game is distributed (DRM is such a thing I disagree with) I simply don’t buy it, neither download it from whatever third-party website. Why would you friend *support* those bad practice by giving them money (buying the game) and recognition (playing the game)? I have no idea it is one of those things like politics and religion that we agree not to discuss.

REAL Time... (with pause)
You can turnoff the pause functions. You can let your party fight real time, 'course they will probably all die in certain fights but it will be in real time. True the animations won't be great. Should OE have gone with turn based in the first place? It is too late now the desc ion has been made. Expecting OE to change systems or add things like fancy this late is unrealistic. What they need to do is get the bugs fixed and balance the game. Maybe Osvir is correct but that is up to OE to decide what they can do and can't do.
