PE already inspiring others

Yeah, I think I'm going to pass on that. It doesn't strike me as a scam, like some Kickstarter and indiegogo campaigns have clearly been, but it seems close. Plus: Daikatana. -

How old is everyone?
pseudonymous replied to qstoffe's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
How old am I? Well that's just a loaded question. I guess it depends on the website. On Steam I am 112, on Bethesda's I'm 150. On the rest of the internet it is none of your business and I'll thank you to stop with the targeted marketing attempts. Curse of the Azure Bonds -
Drows in this game ?
pseudonymous replied to Skysect's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
What if they are like the Dark Elves in Warriors of the Eternal Sun? (you could whipe out an entire village of Drow with a sling) -
The Infinity Engine games run just fine on Windows 7, just do not install them into C:\Program Files (x86). Install them onto a separate partition, if possible, or anywhere you can give user level read/write permissions safely. Also: there are high resolution mods for all of these games. Bing and Google are useful here.

Romances, yay or nay?
pseudonymous replied to Gorth's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
More people are shot and killed in Chicago on a weekly basis than in Afghanistan. Sad fact. And yet even after Feargus Urquhart said: in a recent radio interview, romances are still being discussed.- 231 replies

Really? Wouldn't you rather have the nuanced evil that the NCR represented in New Vegas? They were so nuanced that juxtaposed against the Legion they appeared to be the "good" guys.

The free license produces some real stinkers, the gaming equivalent of this: Also, there is a distinct hatred for anything having to do with C#, which Unity uses for scripting, in certain segments of the tech crowd, mostly "freedom" loving Linux users. Those people will never buy the game anyway, so it's best to just ignore them.

What's unrealistic about having access to the game through both Steam and gog.com? Technically Obsidian is self publishing and could do this if they wanted. I may be wrong about this but I am fairly certain Valve and gog.com don't send out leg-breakers if you allow concurrent distribution through other channels.

Sex and Romance Poll
pseudonymous replied to Troller's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Romances should be realistic. That 15 minute tryst with a harlot in a dark alley should lead to intelligence draining syphilis and eventual death. That schmoozing of the Noble's Daughter should lead to an armed escort back to her place where you are shackled with 18 years of responsibility, a forced marriage, and the victory of the antagonist in the game world because you couldn't keep your pants on. Barring that, don't do them at all. -
Evil PC Options

Arcanum had a meter. The choices between good and evil shouldn't be black and white, though. -
