  1. So exactly what new information or opinions can we expect in this thread that were not already covered in the previous 28 page thread or the 17 threads before that one?
  2. People keep throwing the word harem around in this thread. Now that is idea I could get behind. Tie it in with the stronghold and you could even make a little mini-management-game out of it.
  3. Good points, good points. Therefore the tasteful and mature implementation of Romance\Sex should be no issue in the game for people of such eminent technical ability? You cannot write party members falling in love with a blank slate and call it romance. There is nothing romantic about picking the correct choice from a multiple answer quiz. It's just a dating sim when you do that, the affection bars in Dragon Age are a clue that you are infact playing a minigame. What er you talking about? The jewelry I gave Morrigian to get her into the sack came from the heart.
  4. So now that the KS is over and the biodrones cannot take their money back how long until they announce no romances? I say one week but it could be sooner.
  5. Hello? This is a dungeoneering IE game romp, not emo vampire story-tyme. Someone needs to take away your Obsidian Order membership for that comment. I mean really? Really? Anyway the XP system that rewards for progress and not grinding is the way to go. The rest of you are wrong and should feel ashamed to be posting here. I hear they are looking for design decisions over at the DA3 forums though.
  6. I remember watching that episode with goosebumps wondering if they would actually do it. ****ing decline of CC right there. People forget that that episode ended with Jesus ****ting all over a US flag. Some cultures are just stronger than others I guess. edit: Mohamed should be DLC content released after P:E is finished. Can't risk the car bomb outside the offices before that.
  7. I like either. The traditional IE game uses the 'hotspot' method so that is what I voted for.
  8. The usefulness of the companions cannot be overstated. My two favorite BG2 companions were Viconia and Edwin. It's no coincidence that they were the best healer and mage in the game.
  9. It really depends on how they plan on rendering environments. The say fixed perspective isometric like the IE engine but does that also mean per-rendered backgrounds? Without a ton of stock models or painted environments (like nwn2) a tool kit is overkill. I know I'm simplifying and not describing things correctly but you get what I am saying.
  10. Something that is very difficult but available early would be great. Then you can feel progression as your character begins to be able to handle it.
  11. You should make a poll on that very topic. Are things getting out of hand? You could probably get 10 pages out of it.
  12. I would not mind seeing different death animations or progressive damage to character models but that falls under the category of eye-candy. If they have the resources sure but it's not really a critical element. Edit: Why the hell is the font size for all my posts defaulting to 10?! It's irritating.
  13. What do you say? I voted yes because I want the people to have a deep personal relationship with their NPC and then find out they got the Clap from him or her. Think of the inter-party dynamics if another NPC also ended up with the Clap? I mean the opportunity for drama is off the charts!
  14. I made almost this exact same thread on day one when the forums were not working and it was locked. WTH mods? http://forums.obsidi...s/#entry1184664
  15. BTW sorry about the poll options. I was at work and time was limited. I just chose the IE method the most common alternative and the 'Other' option. I am a little surprised that the Vancian system has garnered less that 50% of the vote. I know many people are frustrated with it after years of PnP but it really has not been done much in cRPGs in the last 10 years. It's all been mana based or cool-down based. This is probably due to the lack of large parties and distinct classes in RPGs during that same time. Glad to see the support for individual spells as apposed to upgradeable spells. I hate when I add a skill point to my magic missile and it does 7% more damage. Not exactly inspiring. There was nothing like gaining a level and being able to cast stoneskin. Also glad to see a clear preference for an Arcane and Divine separation. Healers are healers and mages are mages.
  16. If this game does not ship in April of 2014 there will be hell to pay. By god will there be hell to pay.
