Bought Battlefield: Bad Company 2 along with the Vietnam dlc during the sales. Man, the Vietnam maps are so awesome! Can't stop playing the damn thing.

I noticed that two awesome classics are available on steam now: Strife and Outcast.

GTA V. I really like the addition of the first-person view in the remastered version and Trevor still manages to crack me up.

I spent some 60 hours playing DA:I and it has been pretty good so far. I really liked the crafting and mining. There are still stuff I want to craft and it's fun to go around and search for materials. I still expected a little bit more of the story and the characters though. Cassandra, Varric, Leliana and Josephine are fun to have around and chat with but the rest are pretty much forgettable.

Battlefield: Bad Company. I bought a used copy of the game and I was wondering if the multiplayer was still up and running. Man, there was soooooo much fun to be had. Best Battlefield game ever and one of the best shooters of all time.

I've been playing this for a couple of hours, here are some "Impressions": Pros: -Combat ain't a walk in the park, even on normal difficulty settings. Venture into an unknown area early on and you'll have your butt handed to you. -There are lots of things to do, and even the fetch quests can be fun since they are mostly well presented. -The writing is good. The different books and texts you come across help you understand the lore better and can also unlock quests or show you points of interest on the map. -The visuals look great and different regions you visit on the world map are vast, great looking, atmospheric and finely crafted as there is something going on at every corner but... Cons: -The animations can look awkward sometimes(the walking animations look pretty similar to DA:O on the ps3) and I did encounter a few glitches(when riding your mount for instance)in my first few hours. -I have had my first mount(a horse) and my god does it feel cheap! I'd rather walk or fast-travel, thank you very much! -A very slow and boring start full of clichés you have already experienced thousands of times before. That's it for now.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to to play some of the more important games of this year(Divinity: Original Sin, Dreamfall: Chapters, Wasteland 2). I had some fun with Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls and The Evil Within and that's about it, the rest was either not a 2014 release or simply not worthy of mentioning. ...also this.

I was saving my money to buy Dragon Age: Inquisition on launch day but instead I went ahead and bought Tales of Symphonia Chronicles for the PS3. It has the original ToS that was released on the gamecube along with the other ToS game that came out for the Wii a couple of years ago. After spending a couple of hours with the first game I must say that I am really happy with the purchase. I am not into JRPGs that much but this game is unique(gameplay-wise) and the characters have interesting personalities. I also like how unpredictable the plot is, it keeps you hooked to the game.

I still haven't tried this myself yet but you might want to check it out.

Playing Destiny. My Titan is now level 25. The Vault of Glass raid just got unlocked but I have no idea how it works and I don't have any friends to play Destiny with atm. Just doing crucible matches, bounties and collecting Strange Coins and Motes of Light until Xur's next visit.

It's the stories and the adventures that you get into and the characters you meet. The Zelda games are filled with weird and unique quests and weird and memorable characters. You know how BioWare games have a couple stock characters they recycle for every single game or how in Skyrim every character is just a cardboard cutout and the vast majority of quests are boring copy & paste quests? In Zelda games, you meet a bunch of weird, unique, and memorable characters each time out and they send you on interesting and weird adventures (they don't get any weirder than Majora's Mask) with unique quests and circumstances. Can you little specify, weird in terms of Planscape Torment or weird like Tim Burton characters eg Alice in the wonderland? They have weird stories to tell and sometimes if you connect their stories it leads to even weirder speculations about the characters(they have these weird secrets) and their connection to the game world, the series etc. Play Ocarina of Time first and then go for Majora's Mask and you'll get what I mean. Ocarina of Time has a simple gameplay and it's easy to beat but Majora's Mask on the other hand needs a lot of patience, effort and planning if you want to see everything the game has to offer(and it's worth every nanosecond of your time sir, believe me!). But in the end it's just weird in it's own way, Ikana Valley has a grotesque tone, the Great Bay is all woozy and calm and quite, Clock Town is full of life and characters that have their own schedules(day/time specific, much like Deadly Premonition) and etc. etc. It's not a crpg but I highly recommend it if you want to try something unique.

Man, I seriously need to buy myself a Wii U. It has great games, it's backwards compatible with the original Wii(Metroid collection, Skyward Sword...I have my eyes on you two!) and it has Bayonetta 2. I had so much fun with the original Bayonetta. It was hard but even after dying many times you were still tempted to give it another go.

Are those tears of joy running down my cheeks?!...we saw it coming but now it's official: http://www.zelda.com/majoras-mask/

Sad. What a horribly inefficient engine. Unfortunately, I am having a similar experience with Wasteland 2. My rig handles games such as Metro 2033, Alan Wake and The Witcher 2 smoothly, but when it comes to Wasteland 2 my graphics card fan starts roaring like a jet engine. I hope Project Eternity and Torment: Tides of Numenera are better optimized, because...you know...Unity!

Beat The Evil Within yesterday. A very enjoyable experience overall, a solid 8/10 for me. It's also worth noting how long the game is, it took some 18 hours or so to complete.

Oh Boy! Hellgate is back on steam!

Skyrim's sales have a lot to do with it's engine which is not the best, but still very modular. I doubt that Frostbite 3 will be anything similar to Gamebryo 1.5 the Creation Engine.

PC Gamer: Prey 2 officially canned. Why beths?! why...WHY...WHHHYYYYYYY?!!!!!111

It was ok. The ending was bad but the rest was ok, certainly not great but still entertainting. It sure looks like it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYDh6z-56eo

I am looking forward to this. It looks pretty and it has a huge world for you to explore. Mix that with Bioware's storytelling and you have yourself a deal.

Me too. The presentation is amazing, no question about that, but didn't these guys make Spec Ops: The Line?! I thought the writing on that game was great. What I see on this video(the way the developer emphasizes that the game does not have a story) is a game that is similar to Destiny in many ways which isn't really a good thing.

Any thoughts? I think the game is doomed...
